Abstract: A belt buckle comprising a channel-like shell inclusive of a web joining a pair of flanges. A slide adapted to be secured to one end of a belt is slidably mounted in the shell in spaced relation to the web for receiving the other end of the belt therebetween. A gripping member is disposed between the web and the slide and is pivoted eccentrically to the flanges. The gripping member has a tongue that operates in a slot in the slide so that belt tension moves the slide against the tongue to oscillate and force the gripping member to grip the belt between the latter and the web.
Abstract: A sampling probe is associated with the delivery chute for a flowable material for cyclically removing uniformly sized discrete samples and placing the samples in a sample collector, with each removal being effected upon the delivery of a predetermined quantity of material from the chute. The probe is pneumatically actuated to isolate and remove each sample and a stepping relay is provided to count a predetermined number of unit quantities of material delivered and on completion of each such count to control the initiation of a pneumatic operation of the sampling probe.
Abstract: An attachment arm pivotally mounted on a combine to project forwardly from below the sickle cutter for limited vertical swinging movement to accommodate ground surface irregularities, wherein the arm is detachably pivoted to an individual sickle guard unit by structure spaced from and independent of the detachable connection of the guard unit to the combine, whereby the sickle guard unit serves to couple the arm to the combine in addition to its customary function, and enables the arm to be pivotally secured to and removed from the combine without disturbing the connection of the guard unit to the combine.
Abstract: A hay loader employing an elongated support member carried by and extending horizontally between articulated supports positioned at the opposite ends of a wheeled cargo bed, each of the articulated supports including a primary arm having a fixed pivot at one end and having its other end pivoted to one end of a secondary arm, with the other end of the secondary arm being connected to the support member. Provision is made to move pivotally the primary arms in unison as is also done relative to the secondary arms. The longitudinal extent of the support member is provided with a plurality of units operable in unison selectively to engage and release hay.
Abstract: A lightweight and reinforced tubular concrete distributing structure having an integral hopper at one end as well as flexible means for supporting the same on a delivery chute to receive the discharge of the latter. The bottom wall of the hopper merges smoothly with the interior of the tubular structure and the plane of the top edges of the hopper is inclined to the longitudinal axis of the tubular structure.
Abstract: An amusement ride, which can be transported in a collapsed condition on the truck bed that supports the same during use; such ride employing a main drive motor, which is mounted in a gimbal fashion at the top of a vertical support column, that centrally supports and drives a great wheel that partakes in the gimbal motions of the drive motor. A gimbal drive motor is also mounted adjacent the top of the column and serves to cause a gimbal movement of the main drive motor so that axis of the great wheel describes a conical surface in space and moves between a horizontal and vertical position with the great wheel being above the top of the column in the latter position. Passenger seats are pivotally supported from the periphery of the great wheel in such a manner that they are above the great wheel when the axis of the latter is vertical.
Abstract: A rotary positive fluid displacement machine wherein the radially reciprocable sealing vanes are hydraulically coupled to each other at their innermost ends for preventing the occurrence of compression opposition to radial retraction of the vanes and for urging radial outward movement of the vanes.
Abstract: Bag placing apparatus for use in conjunction with automatic bag filling equipment of the type that fills valve type bags through a horizontal spout that is received within the bag valve when the bag is properly positioned for filling on the spout; such bag filling equipment cyclicalling alternately between fill and filled bag discharge intervals respectively initiated automatically by placement of an empty bag on the spout and upon completion of the filling of such bag.The bag placing apparatus includes a placer provided with vacuum bag holders and a relatively movable snapper.
Abstract: A rod holder construction comprising a U-shaped support formed by bending a steel rod to form a web and eyes at the junctures of the web with legs that have free ground penetrating ends, together with a U-shaped holder formed by bending a steel rod to form a cradle-like web that joins a pair of parallel legs that slidably extend through the eyes of the support. The free end portions of the holder legs are divergent to oppose removal of the legs. The construction is collapsible to parallelly superpose the holder on the support, and can be extended for use with the holder inclined upwardly from the support so that a rod can rest on the cradle-like web and bear upwardly against the underside of the support web.
Abstract: An omnidirectional windmill mounted on and affording traction power to a carriage traveling an endless path about a nutating wheel that is drivingly coupled to means for pumping water from a lower fish farm to an upper fish farm in a system whereby such potential gravitational energy can be recovered and converted to electrical energy.
Abstract: An ice skate of non-integral construction wherein a thin and resilient blade is flexed to mate with and along the underside of the skate body or base, with such parts being detachably secured by hook and worm gear means respectively at the front and rear ends of the blade. The hook means includes a toe pick of cruciform configuration.
