  • Patent number: 6712627
Abstract: An ejection assembly for ejecting a modem from a wireless communication device is provided. The wireless communication device provides communication capability for a personal data assistant. In one embodiment of the present invention, the ejection assembly includes both an ejector sleeve which holds a variety of modems and a lever arm. The ejector sleeve couples the modem with the wireless communication device to establish connectivity between the wireless communication device and the modem. The ejector sleeve also decouples the modem with the wireless communication device and ejects the modem from the wireless communication device. The modem decouples and ejects from the wireless communication device when a user pushes the ejector sleeve into the wireless communication device, thereby rotating the lever arm. The rotation of the lever arm decouples the modem and ejects the modem from the wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 6679969
Abstract: In order to manufacture a sandwich panel using the RTM technique, a stack comprising a core (10) with open cells, a film (12) of intumescent material covering each of the faces of the core (10), a dry barrier fabric (14) covering each of the films (12) and an overlay of dry fibers (16) covering each of the barrier fabrics is placed in a mold. During polymerization of the films (12), pressurization of the mold and the presence of the barrier fabrics (14) prevent penetration of the foam into the overlays (16). The resin is then injected into the mold and then polymerized, without danger of penetration into the cells of the core (10).

  • Patent number: 6663711
Abstract: A process produces a crystal of a material with non-congruent melting using at least one first element and a second element. The process includes (a) placing, in a vertical alignment and maintaining under a controlled atmosphere, a bar of the first element gripped between a lower bar and an upper bar made out of the material, (b) transforming the bar of the first element into a floating zone by heating to a temperature that avoids the evaporation of the first element, the heating being obtained by heating means that provides a temperature gradient in the floating zone so that the lower face of the upper bar appears as a cold face, and (c) contra-rotating the lower and upper bars around the alignment axis and moving the whole bar assembly upwards in relation to the heating means in order to obtain the crystal on the cold face by growth in solution.
