Abstract: A development apparatus for developing a latent electrostatic image formed on a latent electrostatic image bearing member to a visible image, having a development sleeve for transporting a developer to the latent electrostatic image for developing the same to a visible image, and a developer layer thickness regulating device for regulating the thickness of a developer layer on the development sleeve, in which development apparatus, the developer layer thickness regulation device comprises a pressure application member for applying pressure to the developer layer on the development sleeve by the magnetic force exerted on the pressure application member towards said developer transportation means, the pressure application member being supported so as to be movable in the direction substantially normal to the surface of the development sleeve.
Abstract: A coil unit formed of a coil-wound inner core partially circumferentially encased by an outer core. The coil unit is mounted on a plate with the outer core externally exposed and covering the lead-in wires to the coil which are adhered to contacts on the plate.
Abstract: A reel to reel magnetic tape cassette having a tape guide adjacent the supply reel comprising a rotatable element and a guide adjacent the take up reel which is a non-rotatable element whereby frictional resistance of the tape is reduced at the unreeling side and loosening or slack of the tape during transport is minimized.
Abstract: The ground anchorage means comprises a reinforcement combined with an adjacent injection tube furnished with sleeves acting as retention valves and a distensible sack intended to obturate the drilled hole. The fixing zone of the reinforcement is protected by an impervious envelope made of a rot-proof and anti-corrosive material in which the reinforcement is immersed in a hardenable material such as grouting cement. The free zone is immersed in an anti-corrosive product, which may be flexible in another envelope or sheath, the two envelopes being joined together by a sealing sleeve. Application, particularly for supporting walls.
Abstract: Circuitry for generating a distortion-free sector display in a cathode ray tube for displaying signals from an ultrasonic transducer moving back and forth in an arcuate path. Sine and cosine beam sweep signals are developed using signals respectively representing the angular position .theta. of the transducer on its angular path (representing the sine) and 1-.theta..sup.2 /2(representing the cosine). A transducer position signal is stored on a relatively large capacitor, and a capacitor of smaller capacitance is used to generate a ramp signal in producing the sine and cosine beam sweep signals.
Abstract: A coil element formed from a drum-shaped ferrite core on which a coil is wound, magnetic members each made of a magnetic and electrically conductive metal and formed so as to fit to the outer surface of the drum-shaped ferrite core and spaced from each other so as to be electrically insulated from each other, and connection terminals forming a part of the magnetic members connected to the ends of the coil.
Abstract: A furniture element for use as a seating unit or a component thereof (e.g. a chair back, seat, or arm), comprising an upholstered body foldable about at least one axis into overlapping portions with facing inner surfaces. Each portion of the body includes a panel; the body also includes a cushion disposed outwardly of the panels and extending between them, and a flexible web outwardly covering the cushion with margins extending around the edges of the panels and secured in overlying relation to the inner surfaces of the panels. The element additionally includes at least one trim member (such as a welt), secured to the inner surface of one of the panels around the edges thereof with ends curving toward each other at the locality of folding, and means for fastening the folded portions of the body together. Supporting structure may be mounted between the panels, or at an outer surface of the folded body, for interconnecting the furniture element with other elements of a chair or the like.
Abstract: A woven fabric tape comprises a main portion and selvage portions provided along both sides of the main portion. The selvage portions are composed of a tissue which is more resistant against fraying than the tissue of the main portion. Each selvage portion of the fabric tape has a fused edge thereby to prevent fraying. A woven fabric suitable for the production of such fabric tapes comprises main portions and selvage forming portions, which are continuously and alternatively woven in a parallel relationship with each other. The selvage forming portions are composed of a tissue which is more resistant against fraying than the tissue of the main portions. The selvage forming portions are made of a thermally fusible material.
Abstract: A framework for a canvas is placed on an anvil that is laterally movable below a nailing head. The canvas is held by a clamp which is movable to stretch the fabric prior to mailing.
Abstract: A reclining chair includes a seat including a rearward portion pivoted for reclining of the chair and a backrest having an upper portion linked to the seat for pivotal motion therewith. The necessary linkage is provided by rigid arm portions of the chair, and the seat and backrest include load-bearing diaphragms conforming to the user's body during the full range of motion of the chair.
Abstract: A reclinable chair having a back and seat articulated for reclining movement of the back with respect to the seat, in which a plate having opposed faces disposed at an angle with respect to each other joins together the back and the seat. One of the plate faces is joined to the back, while the other of the plate faces is joined to the seat. A restoring force is exerted by the plate tending to restore the plate faces to the angle therebetween when they are forced away from that angle. The plate is preferably U-shaped, substantially encased in resilient material also U-shaped, with a flap of resilient material extending parallel to and between the legs of the plate.
Abstract: A photosensitive member used for an electrophotographic copying process includes an electrically conductive layer and a photosensitive layer formed thereon. The photosensitive layer has a surface region which is subject to an imagewise exposure to form an electrostatic latent image thereon which corresponds to an effective image area on an original which is to be copied. An area of the photosensitive layer other than the surface region which corresponds to the effective image area to be copied represents a photosensitive layer portion which substantially functions as a photosensitive member during a copying process, for example, during a charging step. The photosensitive layer portion is provided with a layer of an electrically conductive material.
