  • Patent number: 6517167
Abstract: A mounting assembly for a movable decorative member to be mounted on a rotatable wheel hub including a weighted mass having a mounting portion carrying a ball bearing disposed on a boss provided on a securement cap stud. The stud includes a threaded shaft engageable with the coupler or hub per se. The coupler is a flanged base or a base having radially projecting legs wherein either the flanged base or the radial legs are detachably connected with the hub. The bearing has a turning axis and the weighted mass decorative member is eccentric or off-center of the turning axis so that the decorative member downwardly depends from the bearing in a static appearing condition. A fixed, decorative member may be included which is secured to the hub so as to rotate therewith while the movable decorative member appears stationary.

  • Patent number: 6488532
Abstract: A flex cabling having a socket connector at one end and a pair of terminal caps at the other end. The flex cabling is plastic or the like into which at least one run of flat conductor material or wire is embedded extending from a pair of polarized terminals in the socket connector to the respective terminal caps. The flex cabling provides a one-piece unitary construction and the terminal caps are insertably receive the respective terminals on the battery. The terminals of the socket connector are marked with positive and negative indicia so that a mismatch of polarity from a plug of a battery charger cannot be misaligned. Misalignment is further avoided by providing a keyway in the cabling socket connector so that the connectors of the plug from the charger can only be inserted into the terminal openings of the socket connector in proper orientation.

  • Patent number: 6478277
Abstract: A sanitary mount or stand for a container having a two-component construction with a platform for supporting the container. The platform is detachably connected to a support base which constitutes a barrier interfering with the path of insects which would normally follow a path leading to the contents of the container. The support base includes a circular barrier defined between an outer wall and an inner wall channel which may serve as a moat for holding a quantity of liquid or a sticky substance. The container may include a downwardly depending shoulder or stud and a threaded shank or pin and slot attachment which is wherein engagement of the shoulder with the support base provides a separation between the underside of the food container carrying platform and the support base that cannot be traversed by the insects.

  • Patent number: 6460313
Abstract: A machine for producing a packaging filler material employing inflated pouches or cells fabricated from a tubular supply of plastic-like material having a top and bottom integral fold so that a pair of sheets are defined with their opposing inner surfaces establishing a compartment. Sealed strips, which are spaced apart in parallel relationship, define the sides of each pouch compartment. The machine includes a first work station having a source of tubular material that is introduced to a second or cutter station for severing the top fold of the tubular material followed by introduction to a third or inflation station where a source of pressurized fluid is fed to the pouch compartment. A sealing station follows the inflation station where the top opening to the pouch is closed such as by heat sealing. Idler rollers smoothly conduct the material past each of the respective work stations in a serial fashion and provide a gap for effecting inflation.

  • Patent number: 6458126
Abstract: A combined device for simultaneously dissecting tissue, suctioning loose tissue and coagulating tissue during a surgical procedure having a hand-held elongated housing supporting an elongated body enclosing a metallic suction tube electrically conductive wherein the tube terminates at the distal end with an opening adjacent to an integrally formed electrical element. The tube is covered with insulation with the element exposed to provide a tissue dissecting and coagulating surface. Therefore, the electrical element serves to sever tissue as well as to coagulate simultaneously with suctioning of fluids from the surgical area.

  • Patent number: 6419589
Abstract: An automatic golf ball placement device having a storage tube for holding a quantity of golf balls preparatory for placement onto a tee. One end of the tube receives the balls for storage while the opposite includes an opening for dispensing the first ball into a rotatable receiver for transfer to a dispensing shoot for delivery to the tee. The receiver is weighted so that upon placement of a ball on the tee, the receiver revolves back to the storage tube for accepting the next ball for dispensing onto the tee. A pedal attached to the receiver is actuated by a player's foot or engagement with a golf club to urge rotation of the receiver to dispense the first ball.

  • Patent number: 6387474
Abstract: An external top coating on a toy vehicle provides a multi-color or hue variation dependent upon the angle at which illuminating rays or energy strike the coating. The coating is applied directly over previously applied color coating and application may be by spray, brush or airbrush. The external coating is characterized as combining a plurality of pigments into a carrying medium which is then applied to the exposed surface of a previously coated toy vehicle. The multi-pigmented coating includes a thin transparence or glaze of protective material so that the multi-hue or colored layer is not readily scratched or marred. A feature resides in that the multi-pigmented or hued coating is sufficiently transparent or translucent in order to provide design ornamentation applied with the conventional pre-coating to be seen therethrough.
