  • Patent number: 5129742
Abstract: A rolling bearing arrangement for an anti-locking brake system has a pulse ring with projections directed toward the fixed ring. The surfaces of the projections that activate the pulse generator are cut during the hard working of the bearing ring. The pulse generator is integrated in the rolling bearing arrangement. Thereby, on one hand, tolerance limited operational differences in the amplitude and shape of the pulses are avoided, especially during slow rotational speeds of the bearing ring. Furthermore, external influences on the pulse generator and pulse ring caused by rough roads do not occur due to the hermetic encapsulation of the sensitive components.

  • Patent number: 5125845
Abstract: An electrical connection, preferably for ALS sensors incorporated in wheel bearings, is installed coaxially on the wheel bearing and its side surface. It is equipped, for example, with slip rings which operate in conjunction with the electrical contacts of the ALS sensor which is solidly attached to the wheel bearing. This simplifies the manufacture and handling of the wheel bearing during transportation and assembly. In particular, the risk of damage to the connecting cord is reduced during operation.

  • Patent number: 5119057
Abstract: A permanent magnet structure having at least one loop of circulating flux comprises a first and second plurality of uniformly magnetized prismatic magnetic material sections forming a polygonal shaped cavity and having a point F positioned along a zero equipotential base line joining two vertices within the cavity, that point being the reference for a figure of merit M corresponding to a maximum field strength and a minimum ratio of the value of the area of magnetized material to the area of the cavity. The first plurality of sections totally define the cavity and have their respective remanences aligned to result in a flux passing orthogonally through the base line. The second plurality of section is oriented with respect to their respective remanences and the first sections so as to confine the flux within the cavity. A third plurality of nonmagnetized magnetic sections encloses the base line and borders the first sections for providing an inductive path to channel the flux and close the loop.

  • Patent number: 5119245
Abstract: A rotational phase detecting apparatus for a head drum utilizing a video head capable of directly detecting the rotational phase of the head drum for the reproducing signal of the video head without using an additional pulse generating head by disposing a permanent magnet facing the rotational direction of video heads. When video heads pass by the permanent magnet, positive pulses are generated from the video heads and the positive pulse signal of the first video head is applied to a phase detecting signal processing unit via a rotary transformer and the positive pulse signal of the second video head is converted into a negative pulse signal at the rotary transformer and applied to a phase detecting signal processing unit.

  • Patent number: 5119183
Abstract: A color scan array for linear imaging employing a matrix of photo-sensor and thin-film transistor (TFT) elements aligned in parallel rows with each row representing the same color and sub-pixels of a linear array of pixels. The rows of sub-pixels are sub-divided into groups, with the TFT of each color group commonly connected to a data line, and with plural gate lines provided each connected to the corresponding TFTs of the sub-pixels of each group pixel. The result is a short, compact sensor with a relatively small number of crossings and thus reduced capacitance and increased responsivity.
