  • Patent number: 5147237
Abstract: A toy audio generating device is disclosed for use as an accessory to another toy, for example as a backpack for a toy action figure. The toy audio device includes a receptacle defining an enclosure containing a speaker and plural batteries laid out side-by-side adjacent the end of the speaker opposite the sound projecting portion of the speaker. A printed circuit board containing circuitry for generating audio signals is located in a space alongside the speaker under a side wall of the enclosure. A switch for activating sound generation is mounted to that side wall and directly contacts the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5145379
Abstract: In a device for the electrical connection of preferably ALS sensors in or on roller bearings of truck wheels, a seat casing is provided for the transfer of the ALS sensor's signals from one side of the bearing ring to the other, which seat casing is located between the bearing ring and, e.g., the shaft. It serves as signal conductor or it is equipped with conductors consisting of wires, flat band conductors, conductive layers, or the like. The connection to the ALS sensor or a plug ring with a connecting cord, occurs preferably by way of slip rings 10, to exclude all operational interference induced by a creeping motion in a circumferential direction of the otherwise fixed bearing ring. In addition, without conductors or a cord the bearing will be simpler to assemble.

  • Patent number: 5145547
Abstract: An automatic method to repair circuit shorts and near-shorts present in narrow bridges or remnants of bridges between circuit lines. By applying a voltage across a pair of lines, certain electrical phenomena take place at the area of the short or near-short. The electrical phenomena thus generated induce a localized etching in either a gas-phase or liquid-phase medium depending upon which embodiment is used.

  • Patent number: 5141847
Abstract: In an apparatus which applies periodic pulsation to a solution flowing through a conduit while undergoing perfusion by a pump, a first valve is disposed in the conduit downstream of the pump, a bypass line is provided to the conduit downstream of the first valve, and a second valve is disposed in the bypass line for withdrawing some of a first pulsed flow formed in the conduit by opening and closing the first valve, through the bypass line as a second pulsed flow. A valve driving circuit periodically opens and closes the first valve and second valve at predetermined time schedules so that the second pulsed flow is superimposed upon the first pulsed flow to form a waveform in the conduit. Any desired pulsatile waveform can be obtained by adjusting the pulse width, the crest values, the delay time, etc., of the two pulsed flows.

  • Patent number: 5140343
Abstract: A compositive functional laser printer which is made not only to form a picture on a photo-sensitive drum but also to read out a manuscript by scanning laser beam by using a hologram disk. The laser printer comprises a laser beam generator, a beam splitting unit, a beam diffractive scanning unit, a picture forming signal control unit, a manuscript reading signal control unit, and a signal detecting and storing unit, so that a picture is formed on the photo-sensitive drum, as well as the content of manuscript can be read. According to the invention, since printing function as well as manuscript reading function can be carried out, functions of duplicator, facsimile and laser printer can be carried out by one instrument, therefore the low cost of optical unit can be obtained and the product can be miniaturized.

  • Patent number: 5136443
Abstract: A cassette front loading apparatus for DAT of tray type which loads and unloads a cassette by moving horizontally and vertically is disclosed. Without utilizing separately the loading motor and the lift and drop motor for moving the cassette horizontally and lifting and dropping the same, with existing capstan motor only, the loading and unloading operation including the horizontal and vertical movement, slider opening movement, cassette take out movement and location detecting operation and the like are executed. Accordingly, the loading motor and the lift and drop motor and the number of parts are deleted, consequently all of the mechanism is very much simplified, therefore the preciseness and the durability are expected to be enhanced. Since all of the mechanism is simplified, the cost of the product is decreased and the assembling process became easier simultaneously the productivity is remarkably increased.

  • Patent number: 5134481
Abstract: A method of automatically measuring the horizontal scan frequency of a composite synchronism signal, comprising horizontal synchronization impulses at line frequency, consists of first performing a count of a number of impulses having a repeat frequency higher than said line frequency, as intervening between two successive impulses at line frequency. The count value, corresponding to said number of impulses, is stored to obtain the line frequency of the signal, and thereafter, a series of down counts is effected, as initiated at predetermined times, until a change of frequency of the signal is detected.

  • Patent number: 5130092
Abstract: A process for sterilizing biological waste such as medical waste and a biomass fuel product from sterilized waste are disclosed. The biological waste preferably includes waste capable of sorbing substantial amounts of a liquid fuel having a boiling temperature higher than about 240.degree. F. The waste is shredded and then introduced into a container holding the liquid fuel, which is maintained at atmospheric pressure at a temperature between about 240.degree. F. and the boiling temperature of the liquid fuel. The shredded waste is immersed in the liquid fuel for a time sufficient to effect sterilization of the shredded waste. Thereafter, the sterilized shredded waste is removed from the container, and ground to either make it pumpable or increase its pumpability, and to further destroy the physical shape of the waste as to make it unrecognizable. The ground waste is then pumped to a desired location. The waste with sorbed liquid fuel is atomizable and usable as a fuel for many applications.
