Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting the PL of an interested MBMS service for a UE in an MBMS mobile communication system are provided. A connected mode UE receives FLC applicability information for an interested MBMS service and keeps a current frequency or reselects to the PL of the MBMS service according to the FLC applicability information. Even if the FLC applicability information restricts FLC from the connected mode UE, the connected mode UE can reselect to the PL of the MBMS service according to its priority level.

Abstract: An image management method and apparatus that uses a plurality of time maps to display retrieved images for allowing a user to conveniently and quickly retrieve images. An upper map is displayed with time intervals included on the upper map and divided into first time units, images corresponding to a point in time in which a key is positioned on the map are retrieved, and the retrieved images are displayed. A lower map is displayed with time intervals included on the lower map and divided into second time units, images corresponding to a point in time in which a key is positioned on the map are retrieved, and the retrieved images are displayed. If a user input for any one of the time intervals expressed on the upper map or lower map is received, candidate images corresponding to the input time interval are retrieved and the retrieved images are displayed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a display apparatus, including: an image processing part which processes an image signal; a display part which displays an image corresponding to the image signal; a storing part which stores a control program and update information related to the control program; a communication part which performs a data communication with a portable apparatus that is assessable to an upgrade server; and a controller which controls the image processing part to display the image corresponding to the image signal based on the control program, and controls the communication part to transmit the upgrade information related to the control program stored in the storing part to the upgrade server through the portable apparatus, and to receive an upgraded control program.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling registration sensors are provided, in which a transfer unit transfers an electrostatic latent image onto a printing medium, at least one registration sensor senses image alignment errors by irradiating light to the transfer unit to sense reflected light, a sensor data storage unit stores characteristics data of the respective registration sensors, and a sensor control unit controls the registration sensors based on the characteristics data of the respective registration sensors, wherein the registration sensors are placed into the transfer unit. Accordingly, time for performing an algorithm of color registration can be reduced, and registration can be achieved correctly in a short time, irrespective of a set frame of the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprising a function for adjusting a color of an image and a printing method thereof are provided, in which an information reading unit extracts information corresponding to a lens of an imaging device from additional information corresponding to an image captured by the imaging device, an information saving unit saves data required for adjusting the color of the image according the information corresponding to the lens of the imaging device, and an image processing unit adjusts the color of the image according to the data. Accordingly, it is possible to print the printing image closer to a natural color by adjusting color differences according to different imaging devices and the color of the image according to the lens information of the imaging device.

Abstract: A display environment adjustment system and method are provided for a computer which comprises a connector with which a monitor is connected, and a video card supplying a video signal to the monitor through the connector, further comprising a program storage part which stores an auto adjustment program therein to control the video card supplying a pattern video signal according to a predetermined adjustment mode adjusting a display environment depending on the type of the monitor, and a controller which checks the type of the monitor when the monitor is connected with the connector, determines optimal adjustment environment information of the monitor by executing the auto adjustment program and supplies the pattern video signal according to the adjustment mode to the monitor based on the optimal adjustment environment information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for communication between a first terminal capable of using both a Circuit Switched (CS) call and an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) session, and a second terminal capable of using the IMS session, in a communication system supporting a Combined CS call and IMS session (CSI service). If the second terminal sends a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) request (INVITE) message to originate a voice service or a multimedia service including the voice service with the first terminal, a CSI Application Server (AS) of an IMS domain managing the first terminal separates a voice service-related component included in the request message from a multimedia service-related component, and generates and sends first and second request messages to the first terminal.

Abstract: A terminal device having a correction function for natural color and a method thereof are provided for creating an image closest in color to the natural color. A priority storing unit stores at a reference color data area a range of natural colors which are colors of objects existing in the natural world. A color editing unit corrects natural color image data corresponding to the natural color area, based on a command for correcting the natural area existing in a predetermined image from the user. A controlling unit decides whether the natural color image data corrected by the color editing unit is included in the reference color data area.

Abstract: A multimedia playback control apparatus and method for a mobile terminal are provided and include an apparatus and method for determining whether a fast forward (FF) command or a rewind (REW) command is input while replaying multimedia content, displaying, if a fast forward command or a rewind command is input, reference frames of the multimedia content, determining whether a release command is input while displaying the reference frames, and restarting the playback of the multimedia content from a playback position corresponding to an instant at which the release command is input.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for changing network interfaces in a multiaccess mobile terminal in a wireless communication system including a server for providing high-capacity data transmission service to a mobile terminal, and the terminal for receiving data from the server and supporting various network interfaces. Upon detecting handoff based on current air information received, an interface module reports a change in interface to a new air interface to an upper layer, and manages the mobile terminal such that traffic is transmitted to the new air interface. Upon receiving information on the new air interface from the interface module, a service module determines a bandwidth of the new air interface, generates a message based on the determined bandwidth, and transmits the generated message.

Abstract: An automatic gain controller and a method using the same are provided. The automatic gain controller and method analyze background noise by operating a microphone mounted in a mobile communication terminal and automatically control the gain of the signal part which is non-audible due to the background noise. Thus, a user may listen to music by using an earphone or a headphone connected to the mobile communication terminal in an environment with background noise. The method includes receiving an audio signal to be reproduced, receiving a background noise signal introduced through a microphone, controlling a gain of the audio signal by comparing the background noise signal and the audio signal and outputting the gain-controlled audio signal so that the user can listen to the gain-controlled audio signal.

Abstract: A method and portable terminal for providing a video communication service are disclosed, in which video and audio data transmitted or received during video communication are recorded and the video and audio data are stored into files by the portable terminal, the files are merged; and the merged files are played. The portable terminal can store images and voices of both users during video communication by successively storing video and audio data, which are transmitted or received, in response to a user's key input and merging the video and audio data into a single file.

Abstract: A method and apparatus encode a source data stream via convolutional encoding or selected encoding scheme. Plural encoded data streams are interleaved and transmitted on a transmission channel. Data groups generated via convolutional or selected encoding are interleaved via time-interleaving functions to disperse selected bits within puncture groups of the data groups, bits in between data groups, and bits in selected sets of data groups to facilitate reconstruction of the source data stream from at least a portion of the interleaved data stream received on at least one transmission channel. The time-interleaving functions are selected to facilitate reconstruction of the source data stream from one transmission channel following continuous blockage. Subsets of bits of puncture groups are selected to allow reconstruction of the source data stream from more than one of plural transmission channels using a minimum number of subsets.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for printing by using a toolbar button is provided. The apparatus includes a user interface for receiving printing options to be selected by using the toolbar button, and a controller for creating the toolbar button to allow a user to print the file based on a selected printing option and inserting the created toolbar button into a host application. Accordingly, the user can print the file by setting a desired printer and printing option by using the toolbar button without using an additional user interface.

Abstract: A method for HARQ reordering in Enhanced Uplink Dedicated Channel of WCDMA system includes following steps: locating the soft combination buffer in the Node B and the reordering buffer in the SRNC; locating the HARQ entity in the Node B; locating the reordering queue distribution entity, the reordering entity and the disassembly entity in the SRNC. This invention adopts the separation technology of the soft combination buffer and the reordering buffer, the separation model can not only ensure the diversity gain, but also reduce the receiving delay and save the buffer space. Three mechanisms (timer mechanism, window mechanism and SBI mechanism) are proposed to prevent the blocking of the reordering buffer, which degrades the blocking to the least level, improves the receiving efficiency and the system performance. Aiming at the SBI mechanism, the invention proposes the new DCH data frame structure on the Iub interface and the Iur interface.

Abstract: Methods, devices and a system for disease management are provided that employ diagnostic testing devices (e.g., blood glucose meters) and medication delivery devices (e.g., insulin delivery devices) for providing data to a repository in real-time and automatically. Repository data can be analyzed to determine such information as actual test strip use, patient health parameters to outside prescribed ranges, testing and medication delivery compliance, patient profiles or stakeholders to receive promotional items or incentives, and so on. Connected meters and medication delivery devices and repository data analysis are also employed to associate a diagnostic test to a mealtime based on timing of a therapeutic intervention performed by an individual.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for automatically controlling screens displayed on two display units installed in a mobile terminal are provided, in which, an event is identified, if an event occurs, and on and off states of the display units are controlled, if the event is identified as a control operation of the display units corresponding to a user's key input. If the event is identified as a control operation of the display units corresponding to an operation of a sensor, the display units are automatically controlled corresponding to rotation of the mobile terminal.

Abstract: There is provided an image printer having a display unit, in which a predetermined image can be set as a background picture of the display unit. The image printer includes an image processing unit processing an image selected by a user in accordance with a predetermined image processing technique so as to set the selected image as a background picture of the display unit; and a setting unit setting the processed image as the background picture of the display unit, wherein the display unit displays the processed image.

Abstract: A method of processing received satellite radio signals is disclosed in which signals are received the signals from plural satellites through a common antenna. The received signals are digitised to produce a time-series of digitised signal samples and a plurality of replicas representing the signals of each of the plurality of satellites are obtained. At least one sample is selected from each of the replicas and the elements of a register are set equal to the selected replica samples. Thereafter, in turn, for each one of said digitised signal samples, the value of the digitised signal sample is combined with each of the values of the elements of the register to produce corresponding modified values; and the modified values corresponding to each of said register elements are accumulated.

Abstract: A method and apparatus using Virtual Circuit Switching (VCS) in a new scheme are provided for allocating and employing resources by combining Circuit Switching (CS) and Packet Switching (PS), in which a base station allocates resources of a dedicated channel using the CS to a user and then transmits data on the dedicated channel. When data is not transmitted to the user, the base station allocates the allocated dedicated channel resources for resources of a shared channel and transmits data of a different user. Therefore, system capacity can be increased and a waste of communication resources can be minimized in a wireless communication system for frequently transmitting a small amount of traffic that is sensitive to a delay time.
