Abstract: Pairs of isolation members are mounted externally on casing pipe to define isolation zones. The zones are places into communication by bypass means external to the casing and penetrating the isolation members. Consolidation material is flowed through the bypass means to successively fill the isolated zones.
Abstract: A method and apparatus allowing sequential production from layers in a well uses a pair of vertically spaced production assemblies formed by packer seal assembly above a respective screen assembly. The production assemblies are spaced on a production pipe string to be substantially aligned with zones to be produced. Isolation tubing allows the lower zone to be produced to depletion when the tubing is then plugged, perforated and the upper zone produced.
Abstract: A coke shield is mounted on a reactor cyclone outlet tube spaced above the roof of the cyclone body so as to protect a vent orifice between the cyclone roof and outlet tube from clogging with debris. The coke shield is also provided with a plurality of apertures to prevent any pressure unbalance in the system.
Abstract: A system determines the relative amounts of phases in multiphase flow, typically the liquid (or gas) fraction of a stream in two-phase flow. More particularly, the system quickly and reliably determines the liquid (or gas) fraction of a flowing two-phase stream, such as a process stream commonly found in chemical processing or in petroleum production operations. The system yields accurate results regardless of the exact flow regime under which the two-phase stream is flowing.

Abstract: A system by which a supplier of wet steam may allocate and measure the mass flow rate and quality of steam delivered to a demand user and one or more secondary users with the wet steam delivered to each user being measured for purposes of billing. Pressure regulator means between the demand customer and the secondary customers responsive to pressure changes caused by the amount of steam going to the demand customer. The demand customer thus being able to take from 0 to 100% of the steam generator output with the remaining steam being allocated to the secondary customers.

Abstract: An automatic choke has two piston-cylinder assemblies mounted within a housing having an inlet and an outlet. The piston-cylinder assemblies are connected in a closed hydraulic loop configuration. One piston-cylinder assembly is responsive to pressures at the inlet and the other piston-cylinder assembly controls valve at the outlet.
Abstract: A sample holder for use in hydrous pyrolysis operations has a cylindrical member defining an axial throughbore with like discs of fluid permeable material at each end. One disc is fixed in the cylindrical member and the other removably attached for insertion of a sample into the holder. The holder has at least one end shaped so as to prevent sealing from occurring when the holder is placed in a test chamber.

Abstract: The subject device has a pair of conical segment members extending downstream from a central chamber and provided with means to relatively rotate them to proportion the flow of the non-predominant (volumetric-wise) phase of two-phase fluid therethrough. Relative positioning of the conical segment members forces the two-phase mixture streams to change velocities and mix the liquid phase with the gaseous phase prior to their encountering a flow-splitting device such as a tee junction.
Abstract: A system for automatically controlling the quantity and quality of steam to a plurality of constant demand customers has a steam generating source, and pressure regulator means and steam mass flow measurement means between each constant demand customer and the steam generating source.

Abstract: A temperature averaging data logger measures temperature at regular intervals and continually displays the average of the measured temperatures. Upon being reset, the data logger displays the number of days since the last reset, the instant temperature, and then commences its temperature averaging mode.
Abstract: The angular misalignment of a wellhead is determined by lowering onto the wellhead an assembly having centering means depending from a base plate and level indicator means fixed on top of the plate. The assembly is suspended from the end of a drillstring which carries a level monitoring means.
Abstract: A rotary actuated valve choke or the like is remotely controlled by motor means fixedly mounted with respect to said valve to rotationally drive a stem thereof. Monitoring means measure the rotation of the motor and/or its associated drive train. The monitoring means convert the rotary motion to a more easily measurable linear motion to measure the valve setting and appropriately control the energization of the motor in response thereto.

Abstract: The separation of wet steam into its liquid and vapor phases, prior to encountering a pipe junction, is facilitated.
