Abstract: A single ended filly encapsulated water cooling cartridge for thermoelectrically cooling fluids has a vertically mounted cylindrical water flow pipe with a plurality of flat sides and acting as a cold plate communicating with an inlet of the water cooling cartridge, a like plurality of heat sinks circumferentiary positioned around the water flow pipe with longitudinal fins extending radially outwardly from each heat sink, a cylindrical shell enveloping the heat sinks and the water flow pipe and forming an annulus air passageway therein, an axial forced air fan mounted on the top of the water cooling cartridge to induce air flow along the heat sinks, thermoelectric elements acting as heat pumps positioned between the heat sink and the water flow pipe, and a temperature control thermostat.

Abstract: An entertainment and educational center based on human anatomy has a major unit corresponding to a major organ, or group of closely spaced and related organs, surrounded by related organs. The major unit, for example the heart, will be of adequate dimensions to allow movement by children and even adults through the several chambers and experience the architecture of the organ as well as its function. The major unit would be connected to associated organs, in this example lungs, by slides or bridges representing the arteries and other anatomical connections. The center may be provided with simulations of blood flow and beating and can be associated with nearby interactive teaching games.

Abstract: A flat bread grill has a grill formed by a housing enclosing a controllable heating element and is topped by a round, flat grill surface, which is preferably coated with a non-stick substance, and has an annular channel or recess adjacent the periphery thereof. A dough or batter spreader has an elongated pentagonal shape with a rounded pointy inner end, diverging side walls, substantially parallel side walls, and an arcuate outer wall. The inner end has an integral depending foot while to outer arcuate wall has both an upwardly directed handle and a depending arcuate foot which is readily received in the annular channel or recess of the grill. The one pair of diverging and side walls have a lesser depth than other pair of diverging and sidewalls. The spreader is held spaced above the grill surface by both feet. Preferably the volume of the pentagonal spreader member is substantially equal to that of a single piece of thin flat bread produced by the subject invention.

Abstract: A cartridge filter element of known degree of filtration is the central part of the meter for monitoring water quality with respect to suspended particles. Typically the holder of the filter element is located in a sampling line which is at a point downstream of the commercial primary filter being monitored. Sensors of rate and differential pressure send signals to the microprocessor of the meter which measures the transmissibility of the monitor cartridge filter. Thus the microprocessor calculations determine the quality of the commercial primary filter effluent. Also microprocessor logic manipulates the steps of the meter and sends signals to display, controls and alarms depending on the water quality observed. A tangible additional benefit of this meter in comparison to an optical turbidity meter is the identification of the composition of the solids. The flushing step reveals the response of the monitor filter to solids removal by flushing agent or agents.

Abstract: A safety liquid level sight gauge with a transparent sight tube coaxially disposed between mounting blocks and concentrically within a transparent shield tube which is protected by a metal sleeve with a sliding inspection window for observing the liquid level therein. The gauge includes a sight tube breakage shut off system, and a leak shut off system. The breakage shut off system includes the transparent sight tube coaxially aligned between a pair of check valves within each mounting block. A check valve push rod is concentrically disposed and supported within the bore of the sight tube and urges both check valves to an open position allowing liquid to enter the bore of the sight tube. When the push rod collapses, such as when the sight tube is either cracked or broken, the check valve move to a closed position.

Abstract: A multi-stage pump has a housing defining a plurality of stages each having an internal rotor enclosure with each enclosure having a non-pumping inlet and outlet. A plurality of rotor assemblies are operatably contained in housing extending through all of the stages. The rotor assemblies and rotor enclosures are shaped to provide a smaller inlet volumetric delivery rate at the last (downstream or outlet) stage than at the first (upstream or inlet) stage. A plurality of fluid lines connect the non-pumping chambers to enable the pump to handle liquid so that, as the rotor assemblies are rotated, a fluid stream entering the pump inlet is subjected to a pumping action to transport the fluid stream to exit through the pump outlet.

Abstract: A device for storing clothes hangers in such fashion as to keep them out-of-the-way in an untangled condition so as to be readily available when needed. One embodiment allows the device to be suspended from either a wall mounted hook or pin and to also be portable via the built-in handle. Another embodiment allows the subject device to be hung over a door or partition. The hanger engaging portion is configured to accept hangers of several different styles.

Abstract: A device for properly positioning a button for attachment to a garment or the like by sewing, preferably hand sewing, has a button supporting body and an integral needle. The needle is pushed into the fabric of the garment to position the body over the point of attachment. A "sew-through" button having two or four holes is placed on the body ands sewn to the garment with the device providing both proper positioning as well as proper spacing for the garment.

Abstract: A counter top reverse osmosis water purification system, suitable for home use, is connected to a water supply and contains a closed fluid treatment circuit extending to a water outlet. The closed fluid circuit flows through a plurality of replaceable water treatment modules mounted on a flowboard and each having a specific water treatment function, such as the removal of a particular material from the water by the use of reverse osmosis, filtration, carbon adsorption, ion exchange or the addition of a chemical to balance the desired water conditions. Preferably the circuit also includes traversing a radiation device, for example an ultraviolet light, for the purpose of sanitizing the water.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for collecting and removing dust from dust laden air has a housing defining a chamber having an inlet for the dust laden air, a first outlet for dust free air and a second outlet for the collected dust, the inlet and second outlet being connected by a curved wall. A filter cartridge is mounted in the chamber at the axis of the curved wall and is at least partially enclosed within and inner wall which, together with the outer wall forms a cyclonic passage for the air passing therethrough. High velocity air flow is directed into the chamber wherein at least some of the dust will strike the chamber wall at high velocity causing a rapid change in kinetic energy and detraining the dust from the air, this dust then falling from the air stream and removed from the chamber through an air lock or similar device. The air then revolves around and is drawn through the filter removing the remaining dust therefrom.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically verifying the function of pressure and vacuum relief valves for low-pressure storage vessels and tanks, which can be remotely operator actuated to insure venting when emergencies occur, allows for on-line verification of the relief valve functionality and proper operation. The system periodically checks the set pressure of the valve by attempting to lift its pallet and measures the deviation from a set point. It also indicates unplanned occurrence of valve lifting, as a result of unforeseen upset in storage vessel pressure. This apparatus is electrically operated and controlled and relies on electromagnetic means for tractive or pull-force, as well as for detecting valve lifting.

Abstract: A temporary guard rail assembly for scaffolding has a first clamping assembly engaging the horizontal member of scaffolding, a second clamping member engaging an adjacent vertical member of the scaffolding, an adjustable arm assembly connecting the first and second clamping assemblies, and a guard rail support extending vertically from the first clamping assembly. The first and second clamping assemblies are fastened to the respective members of the scaffolding to provide, vertically extending guard rail supports above the uppermost members of the scaffolding.

Abstract: A method and system for treating and purifying water on site provides a cascade series of alternating cation and anion beds with flow control controlling flow of water in a first direction to flow through all beds in sequence, to purify the water, and controlling back flow through only like ion resin beds to regenerate the resins contained therein. The subject system removes impurities which are ionic and dissolved in the water.

Abstract: A method for skin treatment consists of the steps of applying a moisturizing cream to the face, covering the face from the scalp to the neck with a soft light weight moist towel, covering this towel with a plastic sheet, and applying towels soaked in very hot water to the plastic sheet slowly bringing the temperature up to a level comfortable to the client and maintaining this temperature by continuously replacing the hot towels for a period sufficient to perform the skin treatment. The towels and plastic sheet are then removed and the face cleansed of the material drawn from the pores.

Abstract: A device for improving the performance of a golfer, particularly the repetitive correct swinging of the club, is preferably mounted on a standard golf club shaft, in place of a conventional head, but alternatively could be made to be temporarily attached to the head or shaft of any standard golf club. The subject device has a housing containing two directional gyros, a power source, a set of sensors, and a like set of alarms responsive to the sensors to give an audible and/or tactile alarm when the golfer's swing is outside that of each directional gyro's predetermined and set rotating direction.

Abstract: A metal face sealing coupler providing high elasticity and/or spring back to maintain effective annular sealing between male and female coupling members while allowing and lateral movement for make up of the two coupling members. The female member has a main body with an internal poppet valve and a metal face seal with high deflection and spring back capability, generally an E-ring. An outer shell is attached to the main body and provides lateral support for the metal sealing element, lateral guidance and vertical connection to a support ring and lateral guidance and indexing of the female member during make up with the male member. The support ring allows the main body a limited lateral movement when the female member makes up with the male member. The female member fits inside the outer shell. The male member, with an internal poppet valve, engages the metal face sealing element, which flexes and allows for sealing in any position within a pre defined longitudinal tolerance envelope.
