  • Patent number: 6382592
Abstract: A valve has a valve body, a valve sheet formed in the valve body which contacts the valve sheet in an axial direction, to thereby open and close the valve sheet with a knurling portion and a screwing action. A handle is combined with a handle combination unit formed in an upper portion of the valve body, so that a valve rod can ascend and descend. An oil storage chamber is located between the knurling portion and the screw, to maintain the ascending and descending of the valve rod. The angular slope in the screw thread is formed so as open and close the valve by 90° rotation of the valve rod. A stem contacts the valve sheet, the stem having a conical end portion, which is received by the valve sheet. The handle is flexibly manipulated to simply and swiftly control flow and entrance/exit of fluid. The valve can be used semi-perpetually since wear of the valve sheet is prevented, providing excellent general purpose usability.

  • Patent number: 6379371
Abstract: An ultrasonic surgical blade has a blade body with a smooth continuous cutting edge and a shank connected at one end to the blade body and operatively connectable at an opposite end to a source of ultrasonic vibrations. The shank is provided with an axially extending bore for the conveyance of cooling fluid to the cutting edge, while the blade body is provided with an axially extending through-slot communicating at one end with the bore. The blade body is preferably provided at an end opposite the shank with a recess communicating, with the bore for distributing fluid from the slot towards the cutting edge. The recess preferably has a configuration which parallels at least a portion of the cutting edge. Where the cutting edge is circular and the blade body has a planar surface between the fluid distribution guide surface and the cutting edge, for instance, the recess has a fluid distribution surface inclined with respect to the planar blade surface and extending along a circular arc.

  • Patent number: 6361460
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for driving a sprocket of a bicycle, which enables a rider to easily rotate both pedals even with little force when both cranks of the pedal are vertically positioned. According to the present invention, when a crank (11) gets to be vertically positioned by rotating the pedals (11a), a guide pin (21) projected from a rotating plate (20) draws a tensile spring (41) from the guide groove (31) and thereby the rotating plate (20) gets to be elastically rotated so the crank (11) can go off the vertical position rapidly. Accordingly, the rider can easily rotate the pedals, and at the same time, the force of restitution of the drawn tension spring (41) can help the sprocket (10) be rotated. Consequently, the accumulated force of the tensile spring (41) accelerates the rotation of the sprocket (10) to enable the crank (11) to go off the vertical position effectively, which in turn enables the rider to drive the bicycle with ease.

  • Patent number: 6358623
Abstract: Cineole C10H18O is used for as treatment agent for surface-treating wooden building materials. Eucalyptus oil mainly containing cineole may be utilized for the solution as a substitute. Japan wax, beeswax, carnauba wax or nonionic surface active agent is available as the additives of the agent. Since cineole has various pharmaceutical effects, wooden building materials impregnated therewith may exhibit preservability and protecting effects from molding and infesting with insects without spoiling natural appearance of wood, besides may contribute to present floorboards being sanitary and hygienic especially in humid climates.

  • Patent number: 6357495
Abstract: In a device for filling a blister band with products, a hopper (3) holds the products (2) in bulk and has a open bottom where taking over rollers (17) rotate to slightly push the products upwards, contrasting the products weight and causing reciprocal detachment of the products. The taking over rollers (17) define openings, and one product (2) at a time passes suitably oriented through each opening and towards a conveyor including channels (4) having inlets (4a) situated directly under the openings. A delivering cylinder (7) is connected to the channels (4) and transfers the products (2) to the blisters (5a) of the band 5.

  • Patent number: 6352179
Abstract: According to the invention, a pouring spout for mounting on a container's neck can be configured as a spout placed in the container's neck, which spout goes on the inside of the neck so that possible drops of liquid will be collected inside the neck. Drops of liquid running on the outside of the container are hereby avoided and at the same time it is achieved that the container can pour in all directions since the edge of the pouring spout extends uniformly around the container's neck.

  • Patent number: 6311743
Abstract: A device for feeding tablets in a blister packaging machine includes a vibrating container containing a mass of tablets. The vibrating container features a bottom wall, one portion of which includes tablet feeding channels, communicating with related slots made in the bottom wall. The slots communicate with the conveying means, which feed the tablets along a predetermined feeding path and release the tablets into respective blisters of a blister band. The blister band moves in a determined direction inside the packaging machine. The conveying means include a plate with a plurality of grooves, arranged one beside another and a covering element. The covering element is coupled with said plate, so as to move with respect thereto and includes transversal wings, each of which is situated inside a respective groove of the plate, so as to define a respective channel for conveying said tablets.

  • Patent number: 6273903
Abstract: A surgical staple, particularly but not exclusively for use in endoscopic surgery, includes a first leg, a second leg, and a hinge portion joining the first leg and the second leg to one another. A spring element is connected between the first leg and the second leg biases the staple in a closed postfiring configuration. The staple is temporarily disposed in an open prefiring configuration in an access tube by a stalk holding the legs of the staple apart. A stapling operation includes manipulating the stalk to affix the staple to a soft substrate, and subsequently withdrawing the stalk to release the staple and allow the spring element to develop closing force in the legs. The spring element may be integral with the legs or a separate element connected thereto.
