Abstract: Embodiments of techniques and systems for asynchronous offline bill review and payment are described. A bill payment management module, operated on a manageability engine on a mobile device, communicates with an online bill payment service. The bill payment management module may receive information about bill payments, including bills which are due, and presents selective information to a bill payment client application. A bill payer can then access the information on the mobile device through the bill payment client application and review or change the payment amounts. The review and the modifications may be performed when the mobile device is offline and the modifications may be stored until a later time when the mobile device can connect to a network. Once a network is available, the bill payment management module may send payment instructions to the online bill payment service. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: A paddle for use in watersports is provided with shaft halves and blades at the end of each shaft half with a selectable offset angle between the blades. A joint connecting the shaft halves may include an interlocking coupling that maintains the offset angle of the blades, and that may allow a change in the offset angle of the blades. A biasing member may hold the interlocking coupling in the use configuration. The shaft halves may be moved axially apart to change the offset angle of the blades. All mechanisms for switching the interlocking coupling between the use configuration and the selection configuration may be located within the shaft halves. A retaining clip may be coupled between the first and second shaft halves to allow the selection configuration while preventing disassembly of the first and second shaft halves. A disassembly control can be provided independently of the angle selection.

Abstract: It is convenient to allow access to a private network, such as a corporate intranet, or outward facing extranet application, from an external network, such as the Internet. Unfortunately, if an internal authentication system is used to control access from the external network, it may be attacked, such as by a malicious party intentionally attempting multiple invalid authentications to ultimately result in an attacked account being locked out. To circumvent this, an authentication front-end, proxy, wrapper, etc. may be employed which checks for lockout conditions prior to attempting to authenticate security credentials with the internal authentication system.

Abstract: A method for aligning at least two photonic components over an interposer, and an optical package that may align such components. The method may include providing an interposer; fabricating electrical conductors passing from one surface of the interposer to an opposite surface of the interposer at selected contact positions; soldering the photonic components over the selected contact positions on the first surface, while allowing solder self-alignment. The sending client in turn provides the second key portion to one or more recipients of the message to facilitate recipient access to the message.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for generating a temporally threaded copyright management information watermark where fragile watermarks containing CMI are spread throughout a digital work temporally. In one embodiment of this invention, the copyright management information is divided into a multitude of copyright management information subparts; the copyright management subparts are applied to fragile sub-watermarks; and fragile watermarks are applied to temporally separated portions of the digital work.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and memory device with row lines and column lines arranged in a matrix configuration with a memory cell coupled to one of the column lines and one of the row lines. The memory cell includes a storage capacitor with a first plate coupled to a storage node, a CMOS-compatible non-volatile storage element having a node coupled to the storage node and configured to hold a charge corresponding to a binary value, and an access transistor coupled to the storage node. The access transistor includes a word line gate, a first node, and a second node, the word line gate being coupled to the one of the plurality of row lines, the first node being coupled to the one of the plurality of column lines, the second node being coupled to the storage node and to said node of the CMOS-compatible non-volatile storage element.

Abstract: A mobile wastewater separator and recover unit and method for the separation and disposal/recovery of waste water for example in the oil and gas industry. It is fully self-contained and maintains the ability to separate heavy solids, floating contaminants, and water for recovery and reuse or disposal as required. Main components of the system are a large wastewater holding capacity implementing various compartments & separator/recovery mechanisms, evaporation compartments that are interchangeable for efficiency in both warm & extreme cold temperature operations, and finally a condensation recovery system and clean water holding compartment.
