  • Patent number: 4996639
Abstract: A data processor includes a CPU and an A/D converter for converting one of several analog inputs into digital data. A data memory stores data designating analog inputs to be converted. A circuit, responsive to an A/D conversion completion signal from the A/D converter, supplies a macro service operation request to the CPU, which interrupts the CPU without having to save the contents of a CPU program counter and a CPU status register. Upon completion of the A/D conversion, the converted digital data are stored in a predetermined location, and CPU execution resumes.

  • Patent number: 4996111
Abstract: A solder coating is applied to a metallized ceramic part in that at least two layers, in each case composed of nickel, copper, silver, zinc or tin, are applied chemically or galvanically. Under the soldering conditions molten solder metal forms on these layers. Useful layers for hard solders are those which are in each case composed of Ni, Cu or Ag. For example, a layer of nickel, copper or silver, with a layer thickness of at least 0.5 .mu.m, can be first applied to the metallized ceramic part, followed by at least one further layer of nickel, copper or silver with a layer thickness of 10-105 .mu.m, until a total layer thickness of 15-300 .mu.m is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4995359
Abstract: To smoothly introduce intake air or mixture through at least one intake valve and exhaust combustion gas through at least exhaust valve, an intake side conical wall surface is formed in an inner wall of the cylinder head in smooth continuous connection with a conical surface formed at an end of the intake valve seat, and an exhaust side conical wall surface is also formed in the inner wall of the cylinder head in smooth continuous connection with a conical surface formed at an end surface of the exhaust valve seat. It is preferable not to allow liquid fuel introduced through the intake to flow directly toward an ignition plug provided at the center of the cylinder, but to allow the introduced liquid fuel to flow directly toward the exhaust port along a flat surface, recess, groove, guide surface, etc. formed around the ignition plug for prevention of misfiring.

  • Patent number: 4996527
Abstract: An information processor receives a residue number as an input and generates a mixed base number correspopnding to the residue number and a redundant residue digit corresponding to the residue number. The information processor includes a plurality of optical arithmetic and logic units (OALUs) arranged in channels and stages. Each digit of the residue number corresponds to a channel. Each channel produces a mixed base digit associated with the residue input number. The stages are serially arranged to successively generate mixed base digits corresponding to the residue number by performing modular multiplication and modular subtraction. Delay circuits are arranged parallel to the plurality of OALUs such that all of the mixed base digits are transmitted from the information processor at the same time. An additional channel of OALUs calculates the redundant residue digit based on the mixed base digits.

  • Patent number: 4993331
Abstract: Method and apparatus for treating waste materials to produce aggregates wherein pellets comprised of a mixture of solids, liquid wastes and clay are dried by hot air in a dryer. The pellets are then fed to the pyrolysis zone of a rotary kiln wherein they are heated by hot gas from an oxidation zone of the kiln to drive off most of the volatile gases. Remaining volatile gases and the fixed carbon in the waste are oxidized in the oxidation zone, and the silicates in the clay are vitrified in a vitrification zone of the kiln to produce aggregates which are crushed and screened. Volatile gases given off from the pyrolysis zone are mixed with exhaust gases from the dryer to feed the burner for the vitrification zone and to supply oxygen to the oxidation zone.

  • Patent number: 4995002
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device in which a data line and a holding circuit for storing data thereon are connected through a transmission gate comprised of an N-type MOS transistor and a P-type MOS transistor, wherein the semiconductor memory device comprises an initial potential setting circuit for setting an initial potiential on the data line prior to readout operation of data from the holding circuit; and a control circuit operative to allow the both transistors of the transmission gate to be turned on at the time of writing data into the holding circuit, and to allow one of the transistors to be turned on at the time of reading data from the holding circuit. Where a hold potential changes when data in the holding circuit has been read out onto the data line, such a change in the hold potential increases on resistance of one of the transistors which has been turned on of the transmission gate.

  • Patent number: 4993517
Abstract: A oil-fill opening 12 for introducing lubricating oil into an internal combustion engine provided with a cap 15 which has a bayonet lock. On the outside of the wall of the oil-fill opening there is an oil separator 22 through which the blow-by gases from the crankcase are conveyed to the intake manifold and/or to the clean-air side of the air filter. Oil collected in the oil separator 22 is returned through a return port 23, 24 between the oil separator 22 and the oil-fill opening 12. To prevent oil from getting into the oil separator when oil is poured into the oil-fill opening 12 and backing up therein so that under certain circumstances it reaches the clean-air side of the air filter, a shutter 25 in the form of a rotary slide valve, which covers the return port 23, 24 between the oil separator 22 and the oil-fill opening 12 when the cap 15 is removed, is provided within the oil-fill opening.
