  • Patent number: 4994065
Abstract: An injection gun especially useful for injecting low volume, high pressure shots of bone cement. The gun includes a cylindrical housing with a plunger including a plunger rod extending axially through the housing. The plunger rod includes a segment which is provided with an axial series of notches. A ratchet block is slidable axially within the cylindrical housing and is concentric with the plunger rod. The ratchet cylinder mounts at least a ratchet pawl urged against the plunger rod and adapted to engage and lock into the series of notches for forward movement. A pistol grip extends from the cylindrical housing, and a lever is pivoted thereto with an extension of the lever engaging the ratchet cylinder for advancing the plunger. A second ratchet pawl is mounted on a fixed member of the cylindrical housing for retaining the plunger against rearward movement when the pawl in the ratchet cylinder is disengaged from the rod.

  • Patent number: 4993388
Abstract: In order to accomplish aforementioned and other objects, a spark ignition timing control system, according to the present invention, is adapted to perform spark ignition timing control for an internal combustion engine combustioning a blended fuel, such as gasoline/alcohol mixture fuel. The control system performs MBT control by adjusting spark advance angle toward a maximum pressure point in feedback manner. The spark advance angle derived in MBT control is modified with a correction value derived on the combustion propagation speed which is variable depending upon blending ratio of one of the fuels in the blended fuel.

  • Patent number: 4995031
Abstract: A receiver for a digital data transmission system comprises a sampling device for sampling digital data signals received from a subscriber loop. A precursor equalizer connected to the output of the sampling device equalizes, in effect filters, the sampled digital data signal. A timing recovery circuit connected to the output of the precursor equalizer controls the sampling device in dependence upon the filtered digital data signal. The precursor equalizer has a difference equation such that the equalized digital data signal has at least one zero-crossing occurring substantially one baud before the main cursor of each pulse. For twisted wire pair subscriber loops, the precursor equalizer may have a different equation: ##EQU1## which produces a single precursor zero-crossing. Alternatively, the precursor equalizer may have a difference equation: ##EQU2## which produces two precursor zero crossings, y(n) being the input to the filter, w(n) its output, h.sub.0 the main cursor height before equalization and h.sub.

  • Patent number: 4994998
Abstract: In a data structuring apparatus, input character strings written in accordance with the specification of ISO/8824/ASN.1 are decomposed and keywords representative of types and attributes are detected from the decomposed character strings. Type nodes are created from the detected type representative keywords and attribute nodes are created from the attribute representative keywords. Internode linking means is provided for establishing links between the type nodes and the attribute nodes according to hierarchical relationships between them and forming a tree structure by the established links. The tree structure is traced and the input character strings are translated according to the traced tree structure into a declaration sentence which can be processed by a computer program.

  • Patent number: 4991418
Abstract: In a hot strip mill having a roughing mill, a finishing mill including a plurality of stands and a delay table having a coil box and being disposed between the roughing mill and the finishing mill, a temperature drop in the delay table is calculated for a model of the coil box portion and a model of the remaining portion of the delay table. The bar temperature on an entry side of the coil box is not calculated from the surface temperature on a delivery side of the roughing mill but from an average temperature obtained by operations. The lowering of the temperature of a bar on the delay table is obtained by only one non-repetitive calculation.

  • Patent number: 4991907
Abstract: A head rest for the seat of an automotive vehicle is attached to a stay by means of a bolt which tightens a clamping clip onto the stay. The same bolt functions to hold the clip in place within the internal structure of the head rest. The engaging pressure of the clip can be adjusted by the bolt, and therefore, the precision with which the parts are formed does not need to be high allowing the head rest to be made inexpensively. By providing the clip in the interior of the head rest as opposed to an outside surface, it is possible to prevent injury to the vehicle occupants which might otherwise be caused by impacts on the clip or the bolt during an accident.

  • Patent number: 4992083
Abstract: For intermediate enrichment of trace substances from a gas stream, a cold ap is used which carries a flow and optionally contains an adsorbent material and which is surrounded by a gas-tight double-walled jacket into which cooling fluid from a surrounding cooling bath can penetrate via an extension tube at the bottom. For desorption, the cooling fluid is expelled from the double-walled jacket via compressed air and a valve control. A pipe loop connected to the double-walled jacket and having a heater winding and circulation pump allows rapid heating of the cold trap. A level control apparatus connected to the compressed-air line allows sensitive level adjustment in the bottom extension tube of the double-walled jacket during the desorption phase. Such a cold trap is advantageous, inter alia, in a chromatography arrangement with a separation column and fractionating column of high resolution and sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 4992971
Abstract: In a language translating and linking system for translating and linking into a load program a plurality of source programs which include a calling program, having a first number of calling parameters, and a called program, having a second number of called parameters, the calling parameters must correspond to the respective called parameters. For this purpose, a compiler generates first and second parameter information representative of the calling and the called parameters from the calling and the called programs, respectively. A compiling unit memorizes the first and the second parameter information as first and second memorized parameter information. A linker compares the first memorized parameter information with the second memorized parameter information to check whether or not the calling parameters correspond to the respective called parameters.

  • Patent number: 4992885
Abstract: At least one group of division screen data is inserted and recorded, together with music data groups, on a disc in each of a plurality of groups of music data which are divided by Q channel data in a subcode in a CD format, and one group of music data group is successively selected and read from the disc. The division screen data group contained in the read music data group is written into the corresponding division screen storage regions, and the written data are read from a total storage region composed of all the division screen storage regions in a prescribed reading sequence, thus providing an image signal representing a total screen composed of division screens indicated by the divided screen data group. Accordingly, a displayed image can be formed or varied to indicate the progress or sequence of audio information as it is progressively reproduced or played back.

  • Patent number: 4992132
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the production of an endless honeycomb band, consisting of flatly adjacent, partially bonded strips, which band can be drawn out by stretching in band longitudinal direction to form a honeycomb. Film sheets are continuously drawn off from a plurality of coils, provided on one side with equally spaced glue strips running mutually parallel in the sheet longitudinal direction and subsequently being laid one on top of another. The gluing is performed with a hotmelt adhesive, which is sprayed onto each film sheet in the form of a plurality of strips. The glue strips of the one film sheet are arranged offset with respect to the above-lying or below-lying film sheet by half a strip spacing in each case.
