  • Patent number: 7357710
Abstract: A multi-layer barrier for insulation blocking an opening or passage of a building and for providing ventilation to or within a building. A plurality of inflated hollow membrane cube-like structures are formed adjacent to one another, which traverse a longitudinal width of the opening or passage. The hollow membrane cube-like structures are formed from generally rectangular sheets having two long parallel edges, two parallel short edges and a floor having one or more orifices in the forming floor of each non-bottom sheet between membranes, for air connection between membrane structures to be changed from an inflated and a deflated state.

  • Patent number: 7353555
Abstract: An inflatable mattress assembly having a peripheral frame disposed around an upper periphery of the mattress forming an upper tubular periphery that provides a contiguous support surface. The peripheral frame is secured along two seams so that it is flat, smooth, and immovable. The seam where the peripheral frame is connected to the side layer creates a circumferential, horizontal indentation or groove giving the mattress an appearance that mimics a traditional two-layered pillow-top mattress. The components of the inflatable mattress assembly are in fluid communication with each other.

  • Patent number: 7351373
Abstract: The invention relates to the oxidative treatment of bulk material in a vessel. The bulk material to be treated is placed in the vessel, and is humidified therein with water or an aqueous solution to such an extent that it can be treated with an O2/O3 gas mixture in such a way that the desired end product has a determined pH value or a determined solubility or a determined polarity or a determined solubility behaviour and/or particle size distribution. The inventive method enables bulk material to be very effectively oxidised by means of minimal amounts of ozone in an O2/O3 gas mixture, in such a way that between 70 and 100% of the ozone parts enter into a reaction.

  • Patent number: 7347066
Abstract: A jewelry item has dual functions, such as an earring and a ring or bracelet. The item includes a main loop-like main body portion having opposed first and second ends. First and second hinge elements are pivotally joined to the ends, and are independently pivotable. With the first and second hinge elements in a closed position, joining the ends, the jewelry item serves a first function, such as a ring. With the first hinge element in an open position and the second hinge element in the closed position, the item serves a second function, such as an earring.

  • Patent number: 7337588
Abstract: The invention relates to a panel (1) with connecting means (3, 4, 7, 9) which make a positive connection with a further panel (2) possible. A panel (1) comprises as connecting means laterally a groove (3) formed by two rigid flanks. One of the two rigid flanks (6) is longer than the other one. The longer rigid flank (6) comprises a recess (7). The other panel comprises laterally a tongue (4). The tongue (4) comprises on an under- or top side a lug (9). The lug (9) and the recess (7) are so arranged that the lug (9) is able to engage with the recess (7). The side of the tongue comprising the lug comprises a slope (12), so that when the panels are in the joined state, as a result of the slope (12) a spacing remains between the slope (12) and the longer rigid flank (6). The two panels may be connected to one another gluelessly without the exertion of force.

  • Patent number: 7337760
Abstract: A sealable engine containment assembly provides a waterproof environment for an internal combustion engine and ancillary equipment, thus performing a “engine room” in a sealable container. The container includes an air inlet port for passage of air from the container exterior, and an exit port for passage of engine exhaust to the container's exterior. Both the inlet and exhaust ports have valves to isolate the port from the container exterior when the engine is not operating. A waterproof coupling for transmission of engine drive shaft output may be provided, along with waterproof couplings for electrical, hydraulic and fuel lines. The engine assembly is of utility in open-hull submersible vessels as well as for use in other environments where potential water ingress could prove deleterious to conventional internal engine assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7328948
Abstract: A child seat (10) is described with a seat shell (14) which can be displaced between different positions on a base part (12). An actuating handle (26) is provided on the front edge (30) of the seat shell (14) and is connected to a locking device (36) by means of which the seat shell (14) is secured in one of the different positions with respect to the base part (12) in the normal inoperative state of the actuating handle (26) and can be displaced by actuation of the actuating handle (26). In order to realize a child seat (10) of excellent maneuverability and optimum operating convenience, the actuating handle (26) is designed as a rotary handle (28) which can be rotated about an axis of rotation (32) parallel to the front edge (30) of the seat shell (14), and which at the same time forms a displacing handle.

  • Patent number: 7316106
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for processing exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine. The disclosed system and method can be particularly suitable to the diesel engine that usually operates in a lean burn condition without the occurrence of a periodic high-load condition in view of its combustion characteristics. According to the system and method, an exhaust composition containing soot particles and gaseous components are processed to remove the soot particles and to reduce the amount of NOx compounds. The soot particles are first filtered with a filter that passes gaseous components of the composition and collecting the soot particles. The collected soot particles are oxidized in the presence of a light-activated redox catalyst to turn to smaller molecules that can pass through the filter. The NOx compounds are temporarily adsorbed by an adsorber and reduced in the presence of a light-activated redox catalyst to turn to N2.

  • Patent number: 7316295
Abstract: An elevator drive unit includes an engine, an engine stand, a bearing block, a traction sheave and an engine frame with a counter-roller base. The stator of the electric drive is bolted, by means of a flange, to the engine stand. The rotor of the electric drive sits on a free end of a shaft bearing the traction sheave. The shaft is mounted to the bearing block and the engine stand. The traction sheave is mounted to the engine stand bearing block by means of the shaft. A brake is located within the engine stand and is protected by the casing.

  • Patent number: 7314118
Abstract: An improved equipment and method for reducing vibrations of a lift cage is intended for use in lifts of the type having a lift cage is intended for use in lifts of the type having a lift cage guided along rails in which a sensor for detecting positional changes of the lift cage and/or lift cage accelerations is coupled to a regulator which in turn controls an actuator for changing the position of the lift cage relative to the rails. An output signal developed by the regulator is limited to a maximum value for the setting signal to be sent to the actuator. A difference between the regulator output and the limited output is computed and fed to the regulator as an additional input. The regulator is constructed in such a manner that the difference fed back to the regulator remains as small as possible. This improves response of the vibration inducing equipment.
