Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for selecting, displaying, managing, tracking and transferring access to content of Internet web pages and other sources along with custom text messages has programming permitting a user to create custom selections of selected image, animation, movie and text content items, and other types of content items from web pages or other sources from the same or different network sources containing multiple content items, along with user-supplied text messages, in an independent, resizable, rescalable browser window; permitting the user to transfer access to the custom selection of content items to a recipient; permitting the user or recipient to navigate quickly to a source of a content item in the custom selection; and permitting the user to define search keywords for performing searches related to content items in a custom selection; and other features.

Abstract: This invention produces a variable compression ratio in internal combustion engines, based on a sliding concentric piston which moves up by an internal spring and down by the different changing pressures over the concentric piston head, within the combustion chamber. This invention changes the compression ratio in an instantaneous and continuous way, depending directly on the pressure of the fuel mixture load in the combustion chamber.

Abstract: An impact part on a projectile permits the activation of detonation systems within a large angular range of contact with a target. The impact part is provided with annular recesses with embedded circular rings that engage with the target and prevent the projectile from rebounding. A thin-walled, dome-shaped tip prevents relatively large disruptive effects upon the projectile's hollow charge. As a result of dimensioning the impact part in accordance with the rules of fracture mechanics, it is possible to achieve a desired fragmentation on the target.

Abstract: A projectile casing is designed to insure proper operation of the charges located therein. The charges are spaced by spacer tubes constructed such that the tubes are dispersed radially after the detonation of the preliminary charge without adversely affecting the effect of the following main charge by shock waves and/or vibrations. Solid shock barriers and damping members are provided in addition to a thin-walled projectile casing. Such a construction has proved successful, in particular, for tandem hollow charges, and also for use against active armour plating.

Abstract: A learning tool and method of creating the same wherein words are arranged according to similarities or commonalties such that a user may more efficiently acquire knowledge of a foreign language based on an association method of learning. The learning tool is comprised of a plurality of words of a first known language and a second foreign language, wherein each word of the first language has a corresponding translation in the second language. The words of each language are compared and categorized into at least first and second groups A and B, wherein group A words possess one or more identifiable similar characteristics based on predetermined criteria. Group B, on the other hand, is comprised of words having dissimilar characteristics. Groups A and B are divided into subgroups according to parts of speech and gender characteristics, as identified, such that as groups A and B are further divided, each subgroup includes L1 words and L2 translations sharing more similar characteristics than the preceding group.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for universal programming language conversion between two different sequential programming languages, e.g., sequential procedural and sequential object oriented programming languages. In particular, conversion is between a source program in a first programming language and a target program in a second programming language. Initially, the source program in the first programming language is parsed using a parsing interface specific to the first programming language. All syntax from the parsed source program is then stripped or removed. Classes in a framework are instantiated to capture semantics of the parsed source program independent of syntax and execution model of the sequential programming languages. The classes are C++ classes representing fundamental core constructs of all sequential programming languages. A semantic representation of the parsed source program without any syntax is produced.

Abstract: A multi-part construction toy incorporating rod and connector elements, as well as block elements, modified in a way to accommodate the building of hybrid structures utilizing both types of building components. Specialized adapter blocks are provided with openings for receiving special adapter rods. A connector element may be attached in the usual manner to an adapter rod projecting from a block element. For existing rod and connector construction toy sets, the adapter blocks are specially dimensioned to enable multiple attachment points to be established such that complex hybrid structures can be formed. For the large existing base of block type sets, the invention provides a specially dimensioned rod and connector set, compatible with existing toy construction blocks, such that the complex hybrid structures described above can also be executed utilizing existing block elements of standard dimensions.

Abstract: An escalator has steps has steps that have a step-tread surface with a step-tread edge. Step brushes are arranged on the step-tread edge perpendicularly or vertically. Step brushes may also be arranged on the edge of the step's step-riser edge. The brushes provide a barrier against the entry of objects into the gap between a moving step and the stationery skirt-panel of the escalator.
