Abstract: A decorative article is provided having an optically transparent solid material, having top, bottom, front, back and side surfaces, an opaque material covering the back, side and top surfaces, and an image inside the transparent material defined by etch points having a convex exterior surface facing the back surface and a concave interior surface facing the front surface.
Abstract: A portable, hand held exhaust pipe cutter having an air motor to drive a cutting wheel arranged parallel to a drive shaft of the air motor by an angle head gearing device. The cutter makes straight cross-sectional cuts through cylinders by using a feed lever pivotally attached to the air motor that engages the cylinders to be cut and guides them into engagement with the cutting wheel. The feed lever on an opposing end includes a handle that extends along the air motor so that a user can grip both the control lever of the air motor and the handle of the feed lever simultaneously with a single hand.
Abstract: A processing system for dynamic analysis of hydraulic performance in a computerized fire sprinkler system model is provided to aid sprinkler designers in auto-peaking the system when at least one of the elements are in a flowing hydraulic state, the system comprising storing in a first memory means a drawing view of a fire sprinkler system, the drawing comprised of a plurality of changeable interengageable system elements, representational of an actual construction, for selective assembly together, the elements having distinctive dimensional and operational properties including an open, closed or automatic flow, providing a remote area boundary for dynamic movement through the view, the remote area in operative connection with the automatic property, finding any one of the elements having an open-flow property, locating the boundary in the view, finding any one of the elements within the boundary having an automatic flow property, calculating a hydraulic result for at least one element using the open or autom
Abstract: An omni-directional wheel is provided which includes a frame having an upper portion for affixing the frame to an under-side of a weight bearing surface, at least two side walls, and a central cavity defined by the side walls for receiving at least one spherical wheel, at least two wheel bearings connected in axial alignment to the side walls for rotation of the wheel about a fixed axis, at least two wheel seats each having one side in axial connection to the wheel bearings and an opposite conical face wherein the conical faces are disposed in opposite axial alignment for mounting the wheel between the faces and a force of static friction is exerted relative to the conical faces and the wheel when the wheel is rotating about the fixed axis and a force of kinetic friction is exerted relative to the conical faces and the wheel when the wheel is rotating about an axis perpendicular to the fixed axis, and an upper load bearing connected to the frame which bias against an upper surface of the wheel.
Abstract: A bed harness for a pet, has a ventral strap, collar strap, and a girth strap, the ventral strap connected between the collar and the girth straps, a stay having a first and second end, the first end attached to the ventral strap at a point in close proximity to the girth strap, a bed having an upper surface, a lower surface, and a central vertical shaft through the surfaces for receiving the second end through the surfaces, and a device for stopping the second end from releasing back through the shaft, the stopping device attached near the second end of the stay at a distance from the first end which allows the pet to sit or stand on, but not move from, the upper surface of the bed. In this manner, the weight of the pet restrains the animal to the desired location of the bed.
Abstract: In a rearview mirror assembly having a primary mirror housing, adapted to be supported on a vehicle, and a primary mirror movably supported in the mirror housing, the invention provides an improvement comprising a dependent mirror having a reflective face, and a back portion, a backing plate, having a horizontal and a vertical axis, rigidly connected to the back portion, and including a channel extending the length of the vertical axis and centrally located along the horizontal axis, an axle having a first and a second end movably supported in the channel wherein at least a portion of each end projects outwardly from the backing plate, a means for housing the dependent mirror, and a means for fastening the dependent housing means to the primary mirror.
Abstract: A portable curb inlet sediment filter which has a box filter frame and a primary baffle panel defining a filter chamber, to be filled with a particulate filter medium, such as gravel, for sediment removal, and an overflow chamber. The overflow chamber has at least one overflow baffle panel in order to provide a hydraulic opening and a peripheral end cap chamber. The end cap chamber is gravel filled in order to clarify water escaping around the front of the frame and into the hydraulic opening through the side panel. The filter frame and baffle panels are a mesh construction having apertures smaller in size than the particles of gravel to be contained.
