Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process of a method for the full metallization of thru-holes in a polymer structure comprising the steps of applying a film-forming amount of a conductive polymer-metal composite paste to a metal cathode; bonding a patterned polymer structure to said paste; subjecting said polymer structure to an electrolytic plating bath for a time sufficient to fully metallize thru-hole surfaces in said patterned polymer structure and removing the structure from the cathode assembly. The fully metallized thru-hole polymer structure can then be cleaned and polished to produce a finished product.

Abstract: A method of making an acrylate monomer from an essentially ethoxylated polyol, which monomer has a reduced and very low Primary Irritation Index (PII value). The base polyol is di, tri, tetra or polyhydroxyfunctional and the reduced PII value is obtained by reducing the formation of by-products such as monoethylene, diethylene and triethylene glycol during the ethoxylation of the base polyol. A polyol is reacted with propylene oxide at a molar ratio of 1:0.5-1:2.5 and in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide catalyst. The polyol propoxylate obtained is reacted with ethylene oxide at a molar ratio of 1:2-1:10, whereby an ethoxylated polyol propoxylate with an average molecular weight of 270-500 is obtained. The ethoxylated polyol propoxylate is finally acrylated to yield an acrylate monomer having at least one acrylic unsaturation.

Abstract: A method for fabricating silicon on insulator structures having a dislocation free silicon layer. The method utilizes low temperature UHVCVD to deposit a very heavily doped etch stop layer having a very steep doping profile onto a substrate and a lightly doped active layer onto the etch stop layer. An insulator is formed on the active layer and a carrier wafer is formed on the insulator layer. The original substrate is removed in a first etch and the etch stop layer is removed in a second etch resulting in a thin, uniform active layer. In one embodiment, a small percentage of germanium is added to the etch stop layer to produce a defect free epitaxial active layer.

Abstract: A location scale and an optical reading sensor for reading the location scale. The location scale comprises bars with a first edge and a second edge, wherein either the first edges or the second edges are located at regular intervals to form an incremental scale. To provide both incremental data and absolute data on the same scale, the bars are of at least two different widths, and any n successive bars on the scale form a unique individual code indicating the absolute location of those n bars on the scale.
Abstract: A chain saw guide bar having two opposed nose plates at the free end thereof. Each nose plate has an outwardly formed impression which faces the outwardly formed impression in the opposed nose plate, to allow a thicker idler roller assembly to be mounted between the outwardly formed impressions. The idler roller assembly includes an inner bearing journal, roller bearings, and an idler roller with a concave groove around its outer circumference, within which groove the drive links of the saw chain track. Two thin shims are placed on opposite sides of the idler roller assembly between the nose plates. A replacement nose assembly is also disclosed which includes two substantially identical outer plates positioned apart a given distance.

Abstract: The present invention related to a method for joining ceramic members and an insertion member to be employed in the joining method. In the present invention, ceramic members are heated by the induction heating in a state that a heating ceramic member having a conductivity larger than those of the ceramic members to be jointed is intervened between the ceramic members to be jointed. In this induction heating, the heating ceramic member having a larger conductivity is mainly heated and the temperature of the butting portion is raised up to a temperature needed to join the ceramic members. Upon joining the ceramic members, it is desirable to press the butting portion but is not necessarily needed. In the case without the pressing, it is desirable to form a layer of a joining agent on each of the butting surfaces of the heating insertion member beforehand.
