Abstract: A novel gas-powered aspirator comprises a venturi chamber for suctioning a vacuum jar incorporating a valve body, movable between two positions, one for directing gas to the venturi chamber, and the other for closing it from the gas supply. The valve body position is determined by the vacuum pressure in the jar.

Abstract: An improved apparatus for recycling asphaltic concrete comprises a rotatable drum having a first port at one end open to atmosphere, a burner adjacent the first end, a second port at a second end of the drum with means for closing the second port, means for recovering the composition from the second port and whereby the closure means and composition recovery means at the second port cooperate to maintain the second port closed except to the extent necessary to recover composition.

Abstract: A flat, flexible package for snelled fish hooks is formed from back and front flexible panels sealed around the periphery and containing a series of elongated parallel pockets in which snelled hooks are extended. In a preferred embodiment, leaders of each snelled hook are threaded through the loops of immediately adjacent snelled hooks, such that the hook portion of one snelled hook engages the loop of the adjacent snelled hook upon removal, carrying the loop of the adjacent snelled hook to the exit port in the container.

Abstract: A traffic road marker has an upright translucent shell supported on a weighted base. The shell contains a battery and light bulb operated by a self-actuating switch which engages when the shell is placed in an upright position. Optionally connected in the circuit are a circuit interrupter to flash the light bulb and a photocell to shut the circuit off during daylight hours.

Abstract: A flotation mattress pad for an incubator or open warmer has a plurality of separate transverse sections filled with a heat-retentive, viscous fluid. The center sections of the pad have a slightly greater thickness than the end sections. Each section overlaps the adjacent sections to provide relatively constant thickness when the pad is tilted.

Abstract: An elongate flexible cable is used as a fastener for preventing sliding movement between adjacent surfaces of two valve components. The cable is inserted through a closable port in the valve, and extends through a uniform channel formed by aligned grooves in the two components. In a preferred aspect, the cable fastener is used in conjunction with a spring to retain axial cylindrical seats in operating position in a ball valve.

Abstract: An improved apparatus for converting solar energy to mechanical and electrical energy, in which refrigerant composition is alternately evaporated and condensed in a tubing by alternate exposure to heating rays of the sun, comprises two liquid containing reservoirs communicating with the tubing, valve means for alternately directing the evaporated refrigerant composition to displace the liquid from one reservoir to the other, and a pump driven by the liquid as it passes between the reservoirs.

Abstract: An improved apparatus for recycling asphaltic concrete includes an inclined chute for introducing composition into an open port into which a burner also feeds hot gases of combustion. The apparatus provides for improved continuous processing by feeding composition containing relatively large particle sizes into the open port and recovering heated composition adjacent the opposite drum end.

Abstract: A Western-style belt buckle is a metal plate having a small pistol mounted thereon. The pistol is part of the ornamentation of the buckle, but is releasably mounted on the buckle in a manner permitting quick removal. An aperture in the plate permits the wide, bullet chamber portion of the pistol to extend through the plate, providing a compact unit. The gun is fastened to the plate with a spring clip and a barrel retainer.

Abstract: A liquid asphalt composition comprises a mixture of asphalt and a hydrocarbon having over about 55% by weight aromatic content, which mixture is useful for being added to asphalt-aggregate recycle compositions during processing.

Abstract: A floating canopy for use in association with a floating body supporting device has a rigid flat base, a vertical support member, and an upper canopy frame. Flotation means associated with the base maintains the canopy in upright position when in water. The vertical support member may be detached from the base and used on a lawn chair by attaching with a C-clamp.

Abstract: A golf training aid for attachment to the leading arm of a golf swing has a sleeve portion which encircles the forearm and wrist, and a hand-restricting portion which prevents substantial movement of the hand relative to the forearm in the forward and sideward directions. The sleeve and hand-restricting portions are oriented to maintain the forearm and hand in a straight line during a chip or pitch shot.

Abstract: A container for holding a plurality of bingo cards during play has rigid front and rear flaps for supporting the cards. A plurality of transverse grooves prevent slippage of cards during play. One of the support members is adjustable along the length of the container for accomodating various numbers of cards.

Abstract: An apparatus for heating and mixing an asphalt-aggregate composition comprises a drum rotatable about an axis, having a mixing and heating chamber with a restricted port at one end into which a flame and hot gases of combustion are directed and through which exhaust gases concurrently pass to atmosphere. A heating means comprises a burner for directing flame and the hot gases of combustion into the chamber at the restricted port along the drum axis of rotation and which burner is adjustable relative to the port along the drum axis of rotation. A burner assembly includes an air duct having an air entrainment port located away from substantial exposure to the drum exhaust gases. The drum includes a plurality of pegs extending into the drum chamber. Heating is carried out in a rotating drum without forming a veil or curtain of particulate composition through the hot gases of combustion.

Abstract: In recycled asphalt-aggregate compositions prepared by adding a suitable amount of make-up asphalt to pieces of the used composition and heating the mixture in a rotating cylindrical drum by tumbling the composition over heated pipes as it is gradually directed towards an output end of the drum, the improvement comprising adding an amount of petroleum hydrocarbon to achieve a laid down asphalt penetration of between 25 and 300 dmm at 77.degree. F. A further embodiment of the improved process comprises venting a mixture of hydrocarbon gases and moisture vaporized from the hot composition mixture at the output end of the apparatus, condensing the moisture and removing it and returning the hydrocarbon gases to a combustion chamber for providing heat to the apparatus tubes.
