Abstract: The present invention provides compositions for blending in hair treating agents which can prepare hair conditioners, waving agents, finishing agents or thickening agents used on preparing hair treating agents easily by lower cost, Further, the present invention provides hair treating agents which are excellent in the features of feeling at actual use such as moist feel, slippery feel, slightly oily feel, good feeling to hair, brilliance, suppleness, soft feel and smooth combing and excellent in the features of hair treating agents such as less damage for hair (protective ability of hair), absorbency•penetration•fixing ability•spreading ability, wetting ability and smooth forming of wave without unevenness and tight and protection for generation of static electricity, by containing cationic surfactants or nonionic surfactants.

Abstract: A composite metal polybasic salt containing a trivalent metal, zinc metal and a divalent metal as metal components and having a novel crystal structure, and a method of preparing the same. The invention further deals with a composite metal polybasic salt which has anion-exchanging property, which by itself is useful as an anion-exchanger, capable of introducing anions suited for the use upon anion-exchange, and finds a wide range of applications, and a method of preparing the same. The composite metal polybasic salt has a particular chemical composition and X-ray diffraction peaks, exhibiting peaks at 2&thgr;=2 to 15°, 2&thgr;=19.5 to 24° and 2&thgr;=33 to 50°, and a single peak at 2&thgr;=60 to 64° in the X-ray diffraction (Cu-&agr;).
Abstract: A laminated film exhibiting excellent interlayer adhesiveness obtained by extrusion-laminating a resin directly on a polyester film without effecting anchor-coating or without treating the molten film of the extrusion-laminated resin with ozone. The laminated film is obtained by extrusion-laminating, onto the polyester film, an ethylene copolymer containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a (meth)acrylic acid ester, which may be further blended with a small amount of an ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer having a density of 840 to 900 kg/m3, the amount of the unsaturated carboxylic acid component being from 1 to 12% by weight and the amount of the (meth)acrylic acid ester component being from 2 to 25% by weight.
Abstract: Disclosed is a resin dispersion comprising solid particles of a graft modified ethylene/1-olefin random copolymer dispersed in an organic solvent, which has (a) a specific content of an &agr;-olefin component, (b) a specific intrinsic viscosity (&eegr;) and (h) a specific content of a polar monomer component. The resin dispersion of the invention exhibits excellent adhesion properties as an adhesive between polyolefins or metal and polyolefin or as a heat-sealing material, so that the dispersion is effectively used particularly as an adhesive for packaging, an adhesive for lamination, a coating material or a primer.
Abstract: A film having a large tensile stress in the machine direction, excellent mechanical properties and stretch-wrapping property, and that is less broken at the time of wrapping, can be favorably torn off in the transverse direction, can be intimately adhered on the container walls to be wrapped, and excellently restores its shape after it is depressed and deformed as a result of wrapping. The film for stretch-wrapping is formed of a resin composition containing, as a chief component, an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid/(meth)acrylic acid ester terpolymer that contains not more than 7% by weight of a (meth)acrylic acid ester unit, and, optionally, containing an anti-fogging agent or a tackifier.
Abstract: A (poly)oxyalkylene block silyl ester copolymer comprising silyl ester copolymer block units (A) and block units (B), the block units (a) comprising (a) component units derived from a polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid silyl ester, and (b) polymerizable unsaturated monomer units other than the component units (a), the block units (B) derived from particular mercapto compounds, and an antifouling paint comprising the (poly)oxyalkylene block silyl ester copolymer. The copolymer enables the formation of an antifouling coating film which exhibits less cracking tendency, excellent adherence, less peeling tendency and controlled hydrolysis rate resulting in excellent antifouling performance and properties.

Abstract: Novel meso-aryl substituted expanded porphyrins comprising of alternate arrangement of more than six of pyrrole units bridged by a methine group whose hydrogen is substituted with Ar-group; and their synthetic method. Ar-group is either a 2,6-substituted phenyl group which can possess a substituent at the other 3, 4, and 5 positions, or 9-anthryl group which can possess a substituent at the other positions of the anthracence, or a cyclohexyl group which can possess a substituent at the other positions of the cyclohexyl group. The substituents at the 2 and 6 positions mentioned above can be selected independently from halogen atom or lower alkyl group of carbon number 1 to 4, substituents at 3-5 positions, 9-anthryl group and cyclohexyl group can be selected independently from the group consisting of substituted or non-substituted alkyl of carbon number 5 or 6, substituted or non-substituted aryl group, besides above mentioned substituents at 2 and 6 positions. Abstract: An expansion-molded article (foamed body) produced by using foamed and expanded beads, and having open voids has sound absorbing qualities, and can be used as a sound absorbing material. A sound absorbing material which is able to attain a high sound absorption coefficient in a wide acoustic frequency range is provided by a molded article produced by using resin particles, having through hole(s) and a porosity of 45 to 80% in a most densely packed state. The void content of the molded article is 10 to 60%, and the bulk density thereof is 0.01 to 0.6 g/cm3.
Abstract: A dental catalyst for chemical polymerization comprising an acidic compound, an organic peroxide such as cumene hydroperoxide, and aryl borate compound such as sodium tetraphenylborate, but without substantially containing amine compound. This catalyst is chemically highly stable, is easy to handle, is highly active, is less likely to be impaired by polymerization, and does not cause the cured product to be tinted or discolored, and is very useful for the dental restorative.

Abstract: Disclosed is a solid titanium catalyst component which is obtained by a process comprising the steps of bringing (a) a liquid magnesium compound into contact with (b) a liquid titanium compound in the presence of (c) an organosilicon compound having no active hydrogen in an amount of 0.25 to 0.35 mol based on 1 mol of the magnesium compound (a), elevating the temperature of the resulting contact product to a temperature of 105 to 115° C. and maintaining the contact product at this temperature. The contact product may be further brought into contact with not more than 0.5 mol of the organosilicon compound having no active hydrogen (c). Also disclosed are an ethylene polymerization catalyst formed from the solid titanium catalyst component and an organometallic compound and an ethylene polymerization process using the catalyst. By the use of the solid titanium catalyst component, ethylene can be polymerized with high activities and an ethylene polymer having excellent particle properties can be prepared.

Abstract: A synthetic resin leather comprising a substrate at least one surface of which is arranged with a synthetic resin layer, wherein said synthetic resin layer contains 1 to 70 weight parts of bridged polyalkylene oxide to 100 weight parts of synthetic resin. As the synthetic resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, acrylic soft resin, mixed resin composed of 50-95 wt. % of thermoplastic polyurethane and 50-5 wt. % of acrylic soft resin, copolymer of polyester resin or polyolefin resin can be used. A surface coating layer containing powder of natural organic substance can be arranged over the surface of synthetic resin layer of said synthetic resin leather. As the powder of natural organic substance, collagen can be desirably used. Further, on the surface of the synthetic resin leather, it is desirable to mark a pattern and to make the height of convex part of the pattern higher than 0.05 mm.

Abstract: A catalyst suited for catalytic vapor-phase oxidation of isobutylene, t-butanol or propylene to produce respectively corresponding unsaturated aldehyde and unsaturated carboxylic acid is provided. Said catalyst consists of ring-formed shaped bodies composed of (i) a catalyst composition containing at least molybdenum and bismuth as the active ingredients and (ii) inorganic fibers. The catalyst excels in mechanical strength, can give the object products at high yield and shows little activity degradation with time.
