  • Patent number: 5961366
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved yo-yo wherein a clutching device is disposed between the shaft and the disks such that the spinning stroke can be prolonged. The yo-yo includes first and second disks that are fixedly connected together by means of a shaft. A bushing is rotationally enveloped onto the shaft and is rotationally disposed within one of the disks. One of the disks is provided with a clutching device that is engaged with the bushing that is rotationally disposed therein by means of a resilient force. Wherein when those disks are spun, the centrifugal force generated thereof will overcome the resilient force such that the bushing will be released by the clutching device and the first and second disks and the shaft will spin independently to the bushing. When the spinning of the first and second disks and the shaft slows down, the clutching device engages the bushing again such that the bushing will spin with the first and second disks and the shaft jointly.

  • Patent number: 5956837
Abstract: After the release of the application of an attraction voltage to an electrostatic chuck that is attracting a semiconductor wafer, the wafer is pushed upward by lifting pins through only a very small projection distance. Immediately after processing has ended, the temperature of the wafer is several tens of degrees higher than that of the electrostatic chuck so that, if the wafer has detached, the temperature of the rear surface thereof will fall toward the original temperature of the electrostatic chuck. If the wafer has not detached, the temperature thereof will not fall. Therefore, a determination is made as to whether the wafer has detached or whether it is being subjected to residual attraction, based on temperature change data obtained for the wafer in combination with the electrostatic chuck, by a temperature sensor after the wafer has been pushed upward by a very small projection distance. If there is residual attraction, wafer transfer is halted.

  • Patent number: 5960124
Abstract: A handwriting storing and reproducing method which takes small images including a leading edge for writing and stores the small images in a time sequential manner following a movement of a writing device. The method then reads out the stored small images and overlaps a just read out small image to a previously read out small image so as to obatain a partial image when both small images include portions which include partial handwritings coincident to one another. Thereafter, the method overlaps one partial image to another partial image-so as to obtain a larger image when both partial images include portions which include partial handwritings coincident to one another.

  • Patent number: 5956155
Abstract: In a facsimile apparatus having a facsimile modem function for a personal computer to perform communications through the facsimile apparatus, the changeover between a facsimile mode and a facsimile modem mode is automatically made based on whether an AT command is transmitted from the personal computer or not. When an AT command is received while the facsimile apparatus is in the standby state in the facsimile mode, the operation mode is changed to the facsimile modem mode to execute the command. When no AT command is received within a predetermined period of time after the execution of the AT command, the operation mode is returned to the facsimile mode. In changing the mode, the facsimile apparatus is disconnected from the telephone line.

  • Patent number: 5956022
Abstract: An interactive monitor trouble-shooting device includes a micro-processor based control unit which detects the horizontal synchronization signal and the vertical synchronization signal from the video card of a computer. If no such signals are detected, the control unit displays a series of trouble-shooting steps to be followed by the monitor user for fixing the problem of receiving no such synchronization signals. The trouble-shooting steps may also be displayed in such a manner to test the color display function of the monitor, wherein the monitor screen is divided into at least three sections or areas, each having a background color of one of the three elementary colors. The control unit also allows the monitor to enter a power saving mode when such synchronization signals are cut off during normal operation of the monitor.

  • Patent number: 5951017
Abstract: Disclosed is an assembly of flexible metal contact bars for a coin-operated path game unit. The assembly includes a fixed supporting block having a rubber-ring-attached shaft frictionally contacting with a driven sliding block having a rubber-pad-attached top. Two electrodes are fixedly attached to the sliding block and extend toward a rotating spiral path in the game unit. When the path game unit is actuated by an inserted coin, the shaft of the fixed supporting block rotates with the rubber ring thereof frictionally contacting with the rubber pad on the driven sliding block to move the sliding block toward the path, so that the two electrodes separately locate above and below the path. The electrode each is formed from at least two metal contact bars flexibly connected to one another by a spring between them, such that the metal contact bar forming a free end of the electrode may bias in any direction to avoid damage when the electrode collides with the path.

  • Patent number: 5948485
Abstract: A plasma generating gas and a reactive gas are fed into a vacuum container. A magnetic field and microwaves for plasma generation are applied to the vacuum container, whereupon plasma is generated by ECR, and whereupon, for example, an SiO.sub.2 or SiOF film is formed on aluminum wiring. In the initial phase of film deposition, the level of the radio-frequency power for plasma lead-in applied to the stage is adjusted, for example, to zero (first value includes zero) in advance. Then, after the SiO.sub.2 or SiOF film has been deposited to a thickness of tens of nanometers, for example, the radio-frequency power for plasma lead-in is adjusted to a normal power level (second value) and applied to the stage. Thereupon, an intensive anisotropic plasma is generated, and a potential distribution corresponding to the self-bias is formed in the plane direction of the wafer. Since the thin SiO.sub.
