  • Patent number: 5979836
Abstract: First and second elastic holding members are installed symmetrically with each other on the front face of the escutcheon for receiving the front panel of the car-mounted audio system. The first and second elastic holding members have respectively first and second elastic members projected on the escutcheon. First and second holding rods are respectively formed at top parts of the elastic members. First and second engagement recesses are formed on both side faces of the front panel at corresponding positions to the first and second holding rods. By an operation for pushing the front panel onto the escutcheon, the first and second elastic members are hooked in the first and second engagement recesses while the first and second elastic members have elastic restoring forces working toward each other, and thereby the front panel is mounted onto the escutcheon.

  • Patent number: 5982306
Abstract: A method for translating symbols into variable-length code words is disclosed. The method includes the steps of a) generating a memorized code word from a code-book memory by inputting a symbol to the code-book memory in which the variable-length code words are stored; b) detecting a length of a variable-length code word included in the memorized code word on the basis of selected code words, levels defined in a Huffman code tree by each of the selected code words, and numbers of terminal nodes in each of the levels, wherein the selected code words are generated by selecting m bit among the memorized code word K times, where m=1, 2, 3, 4, . . . , K, and K denotes a maximum length of the variable length code word; and c) accessing the variable-length code word from the memorized code word according to the length of the variable-length code word. Therefore, the method makes it possible to translate the symbols into the variable-length code words without storing the length data in a memory.

  • Patent number: 5978219
Abstract: A heat dissipating device for CPU generally comprises a bracket, a cooling fan, a specially designed air hose that connects the inlet of the cooling fan and the inlet of the computer housing, and an upper lid. The specially designed air hose is connected to the inlet of the cooling fan. The other end of the hose is arranged such that it may draw the fresh air into the computer housing. The bracket is preferably made from aluminum and can be properly mounted onto the top surface of the CPU. When the cooling fan operates, the cooling air can be readily sucked and directed to the mounting recess of the bracket. The heat built-up resulted from the operation of CPU can be readily dissipated by those introduced airflow. When the airflow passes through the heat dissipating fins, the heat from the CPU can be effectively dissipated.

  • Patent number: 5972114
Abstract: An anti-adhesion film, which is difficult for the deposited film to adhere thereto, is formed on the inner surface of a process chamber. A process gas is supplied from a gas supply unit to that position in the process chamber which is opposed to a table, whereupon a metal film or metallic compound film is deposited on the surface of the object. In the film deposition process, the anti-adhesion film serves considerably to reduce the build-up of the metal film deposited on the inner surface of the process chamber, especially that surface of the gas supply unit which is opposed to the table. Although at least a maintenance operation such as wet cleaning is necessary, therefore, the frequency of such operation can be lowered substantially, so that the operating efficiency of the apparatus can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5967807
Abstract: This invention is an "improved AC/DC electric adapter with the large and small plugs". The main body of the device consists of upper and lower casings; inside the box, there is an electronic converting circuit. In its upper casing, there is an indentation design to hold the large plug; in the large plug, there is a small plug with the rotary pins. The small plug pins can be rotated into the ordinary formation (with the shape of "11") or the two angled formations because there are the following internal designs: two insulating pieces with three guiding holes and push-up pieces (the latter can make the pins mesh with the three guiding holes). Therefore, the small plug pins can be used to draw current from the regular socket or angled pin socket. In addition, its electronic converting circuit can convert the AC into low voltage DC. So, the invention can be used indoors.

  • Patent number: 5964378
Abstract: Mixing chamber assembly having a reciprocating rod within a mixing chamber of a mixing chamber member. The rod is in a non-interference position with the mixing chamber over its entire length within the mixing chamber. The non-interference fit provides continuous solvent flow about the exterior of the rod and interior of the wall defining the mixing chamber so solvent drips out the discharge end of the mixing chamber and the rod is free to float or ride on a solvent film. "Solvent" can include a combination of solvent and other ingredients such as lubricants, emulsifiers and flow control particles. The rod's ability to ride on a solvent film over the entire portion received within the mixing chamber, allows for a much reduced reciprocating motive force requirement and a corresponding freedom to increase the mixing chamber volume.
