  • Patent number: 5271756
Abstract: An I.S. machine is made up of a plurality of independent individual sections for receiving gobs of molten glass and for forming the gobs into glass containers. A gob distributor delivers gobs to the sections. The controller of these sections and the gob distributor are synchronized by means for generating a once per cut signal, a divide by N circuit where N is the number of sections which are to have gobs distributed to them, means for defining N, means for applying N to the divide by N circuit, means for supplying the once per cut signal to the divide by N circuit, and means for distributing the output signal of the divide by N circuit to each of the section and gob distributor controllers.

  • Patent number: 5232483
Abstract: A shear mechanism has a shear assembly with shear assembly that can be quickly changed. The shear assembly supports a vertically displacable shear which is operated via a drive system which is connected to the shear mechanism frame. With the release of top fasteners which secure the shear assembly to the guide rail support and the release of a top accessible support bearing the shear assembly can be lifted out of the frame since the shear drive system and shear assembly are vertically separable.

  • Patent number: 5214841
Abstract: The geometric features of a supported component in a machine for mounting surface mount electronic components are either frontlighted or backlighted for inspection purposes. To backlight the features a fluorescent surface above the component is excited with UV light. Since UV light reflected from the component is invisible to the camera system, the features will appear black with a bright background. To frontlight the features, a light source is used which generates light outside the UV range and a) having a wavelength corresponding to the wavelength of the UV fluorescing surface so that no fluorescent is created or b) having a wavelength substantially different from the UV fluorescing surface that is absorbed by the surface without causing fluorescing to take place. This light when reflected from the features is seen by the camera and the features will appear bright in a dark background.

  • Patent number: 5209529
Abstract: A secondary retention clip to prevent the complete separation of the female end of an air conditioning hose from a connected male end. The female end is flared and the male end has a coupling flange which receives the flared female end. The clip has a box like receptacle for the coupling flange. The connected tubes are located in side openings which communicate with a open top. Stops prevent entry of the flared portion so that the clip will be attached with the parts properly connected. Clamping jaws secure the hose in position and prevent its vibration.

  • Patent number: 5203054
Abstract: A retainer for retaining a pair of vehicular trunk torsion bars which are in non-parallel overlying relation. The retainer has a housing for receiving and resiliently clamping the torsion bars including an elongated upper housing portion, an elongated separator depending from the housing for preventing contact between the clamped torsion bars, and opposed locking fingers for clamping the torsion bars against the upper housing portion. The separator depends downwardly beyond the locking fingers so that the separator can be located between the torsion bars proximate the location where the torsion bars overly, and a tongue projects upwardly from the upper housing and perpendicularly to the separator so that an installer can grip the tongue between adjacent fingers, slide the separator between the torsion bars into engagement therewith at the location where the torsion bars overly and pull the housing against the torsion bars to nest the torsion bars in the housing.
