Abstract: A hanging liquid dispenser is provided that includes a pump and valving for delivering the fluid material when the dispenser is operated by the user in a controlled fashion. The hanging dispenser includes a main body that serves as a fluid reservoir and has an eyelet which is suitable for use in hanging the dispenser from a suitable support. In addition to including the ability to hang, the dispenser preferably includes a pump for metered dosing of the fluid within the dispenser when operation of the pump delivers a controlled volume of the fluid as desired by the user.
Abstract: An electric power distribution arrangement having an electric conductor for carrying a high voltage, a first pair of bodies provided on opposite sides of the conductor as seen in a first direction cross-wise to a longitudinal axis of the conductor, and a second pair of bodies provided on opposite sides of the conductor as seen in a second direction cross-wise to the longitudinal axis. The bodies of the first and second pair of bodies are arranged to be electrically disconnected from the conductor, and the spacing between the bodies of the first pair is larger than the spacing between the bodies of the second pair. At least one of the bodies of at least one of the first and second pair comprises a second current conductor, and at least one of the bodies of at least one of the first and second pair comprises a wall element of an encapsulation inside which the conductor is arranged.

Abstract: A torque vectoring device directs different torques at will to the two wheels of a drive axle on a road vehicle. It has two hydraulically controlled disc clutches, connected to a drive shaft, extending through the device, and in engaged condition intended for connecting the drive shaft to either of two gear sleeves, each in splines engagement with an eccentric tube eccentrically journaled in relation to the drive shaft, and a torque transmitting mechanism with a gear ratio of 1:1 between the eccentric tube and a differential case sleeve, coaxial with the drive shaft and forming part of a differential case of a differential on the drive axle, to which differential the torque vectoring device is connected.
Abstract: A child-proof closure cap for containers having an inner cap and an outer cap assembled for tilting with respect to each other. The inner cap includes a partially spherical or curved outer surface with notches for engagement with internal teeth on a partially spherical or curved inner surface of the outer cap to facilitate removal of the closure cap from the container with either left hand or right hand operation according to user's natural ability.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for affixing to cylindrical components of medical instruments, for instance an instrumental shaft, having at least one intake part that can be mounted on the cylindrical component and can be affixed to the cylindrical component, wherein a sleeve-shaped collet chuck that essentially coaxially surrounds the cylindrical component is positioned in the intake part and whose inner diameter can be displaced between a span that can slide along the cylindrical component and a span that is in form-locking contiguity on the cylindrical component. To allow for a stationary clamping on the one hand and ensure a non-harmful clamping of the cylindrical component on the other hand, it is proposed with the invention that the inner diameter of the collet chuck can be displaced by a slider that can slide essentially diagonally to the cylindrical component and is mounted so that it can slide in the housing of the intake part.
Abstract: A pin for fixing an implant subjected to tensile load, in particular a tendon implant, having a rod-shaped body is provided. A force exerted by the implant is input onto the cross section of the body, on one side, and is output on the opposite side to an anchoring site. The cross section of the body has, on the force output side, at least two contact sites via which the input force can be output in a distributed manner. This configuration allows the pin to withstand high tensile loads without fracturing.
Abstract: A system for facilitating the communication of images includes a central computer and at least one remote computer in communication with the central computer via a communication link. Computer executable instructions executing on the at least one remote computer automatically and without user input determine whether an image is available for download from the central computer, and if an image is available for download from the central computer, automatically and without user input download the image in the background. Additional computer executable instructions executing on the at least one remote computer, after the download of the image is completed, generate and cause to be displayed a notification that the image is ready for display. Further computer executable instructions executing on the at least one remote computer, in response to a request to display the downloaded image, cause the image to be displayed.
Abstract: A clip for closing blood vessels which branch off from a main blood vessel during an intervention of the main blood vessel has a base body via which the clip can be placed on an inside face of the opened main blood vessel. At least three limbs protrude from the base body and are able to be bent in the direction towards the base body in order to clamp tissue in the area of the branch between the base body and the bent-back limbs thereby closing said branch.
Abstract: A method for passing suture through tissue and a suture passing instrument having a first jaw coupled to an end of an elongated shaft, a second jaw coupled to the first jaw, and formed with a holder for supporting a suture, and a needle slidably disposed within the first jaw, having a hook on a side for releasably capturing a portion of a suture, is provided. The first jaw defines a channel for receiving the needle and a ramp for deflecting the needle transversely of the shaft when advanced to an extended position.
Abstract: A system for making blow molded receptacles is disclosed generally comprising two mold portions that, when positioned adjacent each other, at least partially enclose a cavity defined by a molding surface, against which the walls of a blow molded receptacle are blown. One of the portions is a mold core, which has a base surface and a raised portion extending out from the base surface into the cavity. The raised portion has an outer surface and a side surface, which results in a corresponding, inner sidewall on the blow-molded receptacle. The raised portion houses a punch partly disposed in an opening in the side surface for punching a hole in the sidewall. In some embodiments, the side surface is substantially perpendicular to the seal between the two mold portions, and an actuator displaces the punch in a direction substantially parallel to the seam.

Abstract: A medical instrument for grasping surgical suture material, with a shaft on whose proximal end a handle is positioned consisting of at least two gripping members and on whose distal end a tool is positioned consisting of a rigid jaw member and a pivotable jaw member and where the pivotable jaw member can be pivoted with respect to the rigid jaw member for opening and closing with a moveably configured gripping member of the handle, for which purpose the pivotable jaw member and the moveable gripping member are in active connection with one another by means of an actuating element mounted in the shaft. To create a medical instrument that is both easy to operate and makes possible a safe grasping and guiding of the suture material, it is disclosed that in the rigid jaw member there should be configured an indentation that opens toward the pivotable jaw member and that can be covered, with the tool in closed position, only in the center area by the pivotable jaw member.

Abstract: A dimension-gauging system to determine at least one dimension of a non-ferrous, electrically conducting object produces a magnetic field inside the object and changes the excitation of the magnetic field. A signal processing unit measures the reaction of the magnetic field to the change in excitation, obtains an actual field transfer function between the excitation and the measured field reaction and determines the at least one dimension of the object by fitting the measured field transfer function to a predetermined field transfer function, where the predetermined field transfer function represents the dynamic behavior between the excitation and the measured field reaction with the one dimension as a parameter.
Abstract: A circuit breaker for protecting a power line. The circuit breaker includes a control unit and a circuit breaking element disconnecting the power line from a power source. The control unit detects a fault on the power line, opens the circuit breaking element, which opening starts a disconnection time interval, injects a test signal into the power line, measures a response, determines an impedance of the power line from the response, analyses the impedance during the time interval based on comparing the impedance with a reference threshold, determines a permanent or a temporary fault based on the analysed impedance, re-closes the circuit breaking element after the time interval if the fault is temporary and keeps the circuit breaking element open after the time interval if the fault is permanent.

Abstract: A sensor for measuring stresses induced by a force applied to a load-carrying member, including a layer of a magnetoelastic material formed on the load-carrying member is provided. The layer comprises a first phase with an average grain size below 100 nm and a first chemical composition, and a second phase of a distinctly different chemical composition, the first phase being divided by the second phase into regions having an average size in the range of 100-10,000 nm. A method for producing such a layer, including accelerating particles of a soft magnetic and magnetoelastic material having an average size in the range of 10-50 ?m towards the surface of the load-carrying member at a velocity of at least 300 m/s such that the average temperature of the accelerated particles is not higher than 500° C. above the melting temperature of the magnetoelastic material, but not lower than 500° C. below the melting temperature.
Abstract: A screw driven conveyance device has a conveyance carriage driven continuously and smoothly irrespective of the presence of an air space between adjacent screw shafts. Shorter auxiliary screw shafts have a pitch equal to a pitch of the screw shaft and are placed in juxtaposition with the screw shafts. The conveyance carriage has a follower roller engaged with the screw shaft and an auxiliary follower roller engaged with the auxiliary screw shaft by deviating a position in an axial direction of the screw shaft. While the follower roller moves through the air space, the auxiliary follower roller is engaged with the auxiliary screw shaft.
