  • Patent number: 8215235
Abstract: The present invention is a flexible, fillable and/or inflatable breach bag with a planar body and at least one fillable bladder for use in breaching locked or barricaded doors or penetrating surfaces with explosive charges. The breach bag may conform to a variety of shapes, depending on the application. The bag generally includes a panel of flexible material having at least two material layers, including a plurality of seams joining at least two of the material layers to form at least one bladder between the material layers for the selective of fill material, generally in the field. The bladders include fluid inlets providing fluid access to said bladder for filling said bladder with fill material. Additionally, the bags include means to suspend the breach bag against structures to be breached.

  • Patent number: 8201376
Abstract: A masonry block and hardware set for constructing dry stack walls and columns, including a wall unit, a corner unit, and an end unit, wherein each of the wall, corner, and end units have a top surface with a depression that is brought into substantial alignment when an adjoining block at the same level or in the same course is abutted with the respective unit, and further wherein when any two of the units are adjoined, the units create a vertically oriented space for accommodated clamping hardware, and further wherein each of the end and corner units include an alignment slot to align the end units and the corner units in relation to adjoining wall units. Clamping hardware is employed to bolt the wall while construction proceeds, the hardware being disposed in the masonry unit depressions and in the vertically oriented space created by stacked units. The clamping provides a downwardly directed compressive force and lateral rigidity.

  • Patent number: 8187336
Abstract: A synovial joint implantable apparatus for the reconstruction of skeletal defects with a flexible member, which is preferably resorbable, attached to a rigid structural prosthesis such as a total hip or total knee replacement implant. The cavitary space defined and surrounded by the flexible member is filled with osteoconductive and/or inductive materials which eventually matures into new column of bone. The prosthesis is supported by the bed of graft material surrounding it and is gradually unloaded as the bed matures into solid bone. The fixation of the prosthesis into native bone depends on the specific implant and the anatomic area of its use. The flexible member is secured to the margins of the prosthesis using rails, runners, sutures, or other attachment devices that prevent the escape of the bone graft and maintain an initial column of support for the implant.

  • Patent number: 8152700
Abstract: A multistation weight machine including a cam pivotally connected to the base on an lever axle that functions as the sole and central pivot point for a class II lever in the machine's lever system. A plurality of handles storable on the apparatus are removably insertable into a plurality of variously positioned handle receptacles operatively connected to the lever axle and provide means for performing a wide variety of exercises in a standing position. One or more foot pedals or any handle connected to the lever axle through a handle receptacle results in the smooth upward linear translation of all or a portion of a weight stack.

  • Patent number: 8141210
Abstract: A quick release interconnect and locking device having a base plate with a post A circular and planar D-shaped disc is disposed on an end of the post. The apparatus has a female element with a contoured channel. A keeper plate with a vertical slot is placed over the contoured channel. A medial portion of the contoured channel includes an upper locking face terminating at a lower end in radius, such that when the D-disc is aligned parallel with the upper locking face, the D-disc may be translated downwardly until it encounters a locking portion, where it may again be rotated to bring the sliding face into alignment with a locking face and may then be translated downwardly to a semi-circular portion at the bottom of the contoured channel, where it may be rotated to lock it in the lower locking portion.

  • Patent number: 8127668
Abstract: A vegetative shredder and destemming apparatus that includes a shredding drum having a interior volume into which a harvested plant crop may be placed for processing. The drum includes a substantially cylindrical side with a plurality of openings and at least one brush roller disposed proximate the cylindrical side. A motor rotates the shredding drum and the brush rollers simultaneously. The apparatus employs centrifugal force to urge portions of the plant material into engagement with the drum's cylindrical side and the openings therethrough so as to allow bring the brush rollers to mechanically shred and destem the plant material.

  • Patent number: 8130966
Abstract: A method for performance measurement and optimization of sound systems using electroacoustic measurements and a sliding band integration curve. Nearfield and spatially and temporally averaged broadband farfield responses are measured, averaged over a distinct set of frequencies, level matched, and weighted using a frequency-dependent ratio. The two curves are then combined to produce a third curve. The results indicate system performance in a listening space that matches human sensory response and provides means to optimize the sound system for the listening space.

  • Patent number: 8117149
Abstract: A method for prediction weights determination for use in compression (particularly image compression) and forecasting applications. Prediction weights determining significance of different predictions when calculating generalized prediction are calculated using specific context-based procedure. Information about already known best predictions in close neighborhood of the position being processed is used to form prediction context. Number of times each particular prediction was the best prediction in past in current prediction context is treated as a prediction weight.
