  • Patent number: 5619840
Abstract: The present invention relates to a delivery package (30) of maxi bags (10) and a method for packing maxi bags into a delivery package (30). A delivery package (30) consists of maxi bags (10) placed overlappingly one top of the other, said bags being rolled around a rolling core (20) into a roll package. The edge portions of the maxi bags (10) have been folded prior to being conducted to a rolling core (20) so that in longitudinal direction the maxi bags (10) are essentially of equal thickness, whereby in each maxi bag layer of a delivery package (30) the undesired thickness of the thick handle part of the lifting loop structure (13) of the maxi bags (10) has been made uniform in order to produce a stable delivery package (30).

  • Patent number: 5613330
Abstract: A support pillar system for a magnetically-shielded room including several support pillars, each support pillar including a nested structure formed by a first structure and a second structure surrounding the first structure. The upper end of the first structure has a threaded part and a member provided with a thread and disposed about the threaded part. The shielding structure of the magnetically-shielded room is attached to the second structure of the support pillar, whereby the floor of the room is supported on the upper end of the first structure. When the member provided with a thread is tightened in a locking position, it locks the first structure and the second structure together, whereby the vibration of the floor is transmitted to the shielding structure and the shield vibrates substantially in synchronization with the vibration of the floor of the room.

  • Patent number: 5611892
Abstract: A closed press section in a paper machine including a compact combination of press rolls, some of which define press nips with each other between which the web has a closed draw supported by the face of a fabric. The press section has a center roll in connection with which at least one press nip is formed. A closed loop of a transfer band is passed around the center roll. The web is transferred on an outer face of the transfer band after the last press nip in the compact combination of rolls as a closed and constantly supported draw onto a drying wire in a drying section following after the press section. The transfer band loop is preferably made of a fabric that substantially does not receive water and does not rewet the web. The web-adhesion properties of the outer face of the transfer band are chosen so that, after the last nip, the web follows the transfer band, and so that the web can be transferred as a fully closed draw onto the drying wire.

  • Patent number: 5611893
Abstract: Method and device in the manufacture of paper or board for dewatering of a paper web that is being manufactured. The paper web is transferred from a forming wire onto a wire in the drying section while constantly on support of a fabric that receives water, a transfer fabric, or of any other, corresponding transfer surface as a closed draw, at a particularly high speed, which is higher than about 25-30 m/s. Dewatering of the paper web is carried out by means of at least two subsequent press nips, of which nips at least one press nip is a so-called extended-nip zone, whose length in a machine direction is larger than about 100 mm. The extended-nip zone is formed in connection with a mobile flexible press-band loop. The distribution of the compression pressure employed within said extended-nip press zone is regulated and/or selected both in the transverse direction of the web and in the machine direction so as to set or to control the different profiles of properties of the web.

  • Patent number: 5607554
Abstract: A loading box adjustable in zones thereof for a former of a paper or board machine. The former comprises a twin-wire section including two wires placed one above the other and running in the same transfer direction. In the twin-wire section, a drain box is mounted at one side of the wires to remove water out of a fibrous pulp running between the wires. At the opposite side of the wires, a loading box is mounted and is provided with loading ribs arranged in the transverse direction in relation to the transfer direction and which extend across the web width. The loading ribs are loaded toward the bottom of the drain box in order to produce a desired compression in the fibrous pulp running between the wires. • Patent number: 5603806
Abstract: A method and apparatus for lateral alignment of a cross-direction profile control of a web as required in a paper-making process. In the method, a certain cross-direction profile of a dried web, particularly the basis weight profile thereof, to be aligned is gauged. A profile measurement signal thus obtained is passed to a control system of the paper machine which provides a control signal suited to control adjustment devices of the cross-direction profile control provision. The web is provided with at least one marker line whose lateral shift or shifts is/are detected at the measurement point of the cross-direction profile of the dried web, or in the vicinity thereof. The detection of the lateral shift(s) is used to generate a measurement signal thereof which is employed to control the lateral alignment of the web profile adjustment provision.

  • Patent number: 5601521
Abstract: The source materials are supplied in continuous strips of cardboard situated initially in separated planes laterally offset from each other. Longitudinal grooves are made along the strips, dividing them into longitudinal bands. The strips are overlapped and glued under pressure to join them together. Once glued they are cut into pieces. The pieces constitute the folded dividers, made up of sections and folded and glued sections which form the union between the sections of each strip. Optionally, narrower sections are glued directly onto the sides of a box, or to sheets glued in their turn to the sides of the box. The upper edges of the divider can be straight or present recesses. The divider formed by strips glued by the sections which make up sections at right angles to the strips is folded and unfolded at the same time as the box into which it is fitted.
