Abstract: An animal registry system and method utilizing information either borne by an animal or obtained from the normal abode of the animal to obtain veterinarian, search and/or rescue, concierge and other services to the animal with payment guaranteed to the provider of the services. The animal registry system is operatively connected to a communication system providing an automated response to incidents involving the registered animal.
Abstract: There are provided; (i) a solid catalyst component obtained by contacting a trivalent titanium atom-containing solid catalyst component precursor (C) with a halogeno compound (A) of the 13 or 14 group of elements in the periodic table of the elements and an electron donor (B), or a solid catalyst component obtained by contacting an intermediate product with a titanium-halogen bond-carrying compound (D), the intermediate product being obtained by contacting the solid catalyst component precursor (C) with a halogeno compound (A?) of the 14 group of elements in the periodic table of the elements and the electron donor (B), or a solid catalyst component comprising a magnesium atom, a titanium atom, a halogen atom and an electron donor and having a relative surface area of not more than 30 m2/g, the catalyst component being superior in a particle form, and (ii) a catalyst comprising the solid catalyst component and an organoaluminum compound, the catalyst being high in polymerization activity.
Abstract: Citalopram and other phthalanes are made by reacting a salt of a compound of formula (II) where R1 is halogen and R2 is halogen, trifluoromethyl, cyano or R—CO— where R is a C1-4 alkyl group, with cuprous cyanide.

Abstract: A thin decorative thermosetting laminate of postforming quality is glued to a longitudinal carrier to form a floor strip. The laminate has a thermosetting resin as well as hard particles impregnated therein to increase the abrasion resistance of the laminate. The carrier generally has a cross section of a dilatation, transition or a finishing profile, depending on the intended use of the floor strip. The floor strip has a tab portion on a surface that engages a channel on a floor tile or a reducer. The tab portion locks the floor strip into place and prevents movement of the floor tile or the reducer with respect to the floor strip.

Abstract: A catalyst for addition polymerization obtained by contacting (A) an organoaluminum compound, (B) a specific boron compound and (C) a solid inorganic compound, and a process for producing an addition polymer characterized by polymerizing an addition-polymerizable monomer in the presence of the catalyst.
Abstract: A process for the manufacturing of a decorative laminate, which laminate comprises an upper decorative and abrasion resistant thermosetting laminate layer and a carrying core. The upper side of the core is provided with the abrasion resistant thermosetting laminate with a dampening foil of an elastomer arranged between the upper side of the core and the abrasion resistant thermosetting laminate, which elastomer and which thermosetting laminate are joined with each other and with the core by means of pressing.
Abstract: An inventive procurement system includes a requisition system for special item purchases that are not found when searching a catalog database. Using the requisition system the buyer is provided with the desired item while the information associated with the requisition is selectively added to a rule-based knowledge base as well as to an item database. In a preferred embodiment a common language generator has been used to normalize free form data using pre-determined rules to place the data into a class/attribute/value relationship. By having the item requisition follow the same relationship, the pre-determined rules may be updated and the free-form data associated with the item properly coded for inclusion into an item database.
Abstract: A process for the manufacturing of a decorative surface element, which element comprises a base layer and a decorative upper surface. A radiation curing lacquer is printed in a predetermined pattern as an uppermost layer on the decorative upper surface. The radiation curing lacquer covers only parts of the decorative upper surface whereby the lacquer is exposed to radiation whereby it cures. A surface structure is hereby achieved.

Abstract: A product having a metal-fabric joint includes forming a fabric anchoring component by casting a low melting point yet high compressive strength material into a cavity in a metal component. The product includes (a) a metal housing including an interior entrance, at least first and second opposed interior walls, and an interior end opposite the interior entrance, the at least first and second opposed interior walls and the interior end defining an interior cavity; (b) a fabric; (c) a fabric anchor assembly; and (d) a castable material disposed in the interior cavity so as to envelop the fabric and the fabric anchor assembly. A method of fabricating the product includes the steps of (a) anchoring the fabric with the fabric anchor assembly; (b) inserting the anchored fabric in the interior cavity; (c) providing the interior cavity with the castable material so as to envelop the anchored fabric; and (d) solidifying the castable material to a cast material so as to form the product.
Abstract: The invention is a joint cover assembly for covering a gap adjacent an edge of a panel that covers a sub-surface, and a method of covering such a gap. The assembly includes a molding having a foot, a first arm, and a second arm. The foot is positioned along a longitudinal axis, and the first arm extends generally perpendicularly from the foot. The second arm extends generally perpendicularly from the foot. A tab depends generally perpendicularly from the first panel engaging surface. At least one of the tab and the foot engage the edge in order to tightly fit within the gap. The method includes the steps of placing the foot in the gap, pressing the respective panel engaging surfaces into contact with respective panels, and configuring at least one of the tab and the foot to cooperate to retain the molding in the gap when the assembly is in an installed condition.
