  • Patent number: 5072694
Abstract: A pet bed and enclosure device specifically designed for cats includes a spring support device from which is suspended a cloth panel bed. The spring support device includes an upper square frame supported over a lower square frame by two spring steel members attached at a rear section of the upper frame and angled forwardly and attached to the front section of the base frame. A fabric cover enclosure is supported by resilient support members pulled into a round shape by tab ends extending from each corner of the cover which wrap around the upper frame and hook onto horizontal hook members extending inwardly from the corners of the upper frame. A hole in the cover allows the cat to enter the enclosure and rest on the cloth bed that is springably supported.

  • Patent number: 5062415
Abstract: A cervical traction orthotic apparatus including a carbon fiber reinforced halo ring with a horizontal shoulder extending inwardly forming a horizontal annular surface with a multiplicity of threaded inserts force-fitted in a multiplicity of horizontal circular holes with an integral stop member with a surface that engages the horizontal annular surface to prevent the insert from twisting. The apparatus also includes a support rod device to hold the halo ring in place, each rod being in two parts with complimentary mating shapes having aligned surfaces that are horizontal and vertical positioned such that the cross-section of the mated area is the same cross-section as the two support rod sections and a locking cylindrical sleeve to closely fit over the mated sections of the rod sections with a locking member interfitted through a hole a rod section to retain the locking sleeve over the mated sections of the rods.

  • Patent number: 5036799
Abstract: A method and a feeding device to avoid the ailment of sand colic in horses including a fenced in area with a fence section that does not allow the horse to stick its head through the fence to reach the ground on the outside of the fence section. A feed bucket is supported on a holder on the outside of the fence section such that the horse must lean over the top rail of the fence to eat from the bucket and cannot reach any spilled feed on the ground. The feeding device includes a metal bracket with a circular ring in which the feed bucket fits with a horizontal support member to support the feed bucket from the bottom. The ring and support are welded to a bracket plate which in turn is attached to the fence post.

  • Patent number: 5007618
Abstract: A device to aid a person to stand up from a sitting position on a chair or the seat of a water closet is provided with a base panel that is cut out to interfit around the base of the water closet or support and hold an easy chair. Horizontal stop members in the form of a vertical hole through a block are attached on the top of the panel to receive the bottom ends of chair legs sitting on the top of the base panel. Two members, one on each side of the chair, inclined upwardly past the front of the chair, are attached to the base panel and supported at the front ends. A front section of the inclined member is a cantilever section to be gripped by the hands to facilitate rising from the chair. Rails are structurally attached to the inclined members extending forwardly proximate and below the front ends of the inclined members to allow the person to rise up, rest his or her hands on the rail members and begin walking away from the chair or seat.

  • Patent number: 4996977
Abstract: A tremor control device is provided to control spastic movements of a person's forearm caused by cerebral palsy. The device is connected to a wheelchair or work station in front of the person by the interfitting of a horizontal travel support member into holes of an attachment device. A trolley rides along the travel support member capable of full rotational movement around the member. A forearm rest, which restrains the forearm in position is attached to a slide which slides in a lineal direction, the base support of which is connected to the trolley through an attachment that allows the full rotational movement in a plane perpendicular to that of the rotational movement of the trolley.
