Abstract: A guard which encloses clothing buttons during cleaning operations. The guard includes a cup-shaped container with a slot which allows the guard to slide over the button. A cap may be releasably secured to the container to completely enclose the button and protect it from damage.
Abstract: A clothing rack which is connected to a support structure such as an ironing board. The clothing rack includes a generally U-shaped base connected to an L-shaped support. A disk is connected to the vertical portion of the L-shaped support and functions with the base to clamp the clothing rack to the ironing board. A tubular extension is connected to the vertical support at the top by a bracket. The connecting bracket permits the tubular extension to be shifted between operative and storage positions.
Abstract: A refoldable and transportable rigid building which requires no load bearing interior walls and further permits the permanent placement of plumbing and plumbing fixtures almost anywhere within the periphery of the exterior walls. Upon unfolding, the structural components of the building become fast on one another providing a rigid building which is capable of resisting substantial racking and compression stresses without loss of integrity. Folding and unfolding of the building may be accomplished with the use of hand tools only. A sixty per cent volume reduction is achieved on folding and when folded the structure may be handled by a forklift and/or supported on a pair of dollies.
Abstract: An indicator attached to a golf flagstick to inform golfers as to the depth of the pin on the putting green. The indicator is a one-piece molded part and includes a hinge and a latch to allow the indicator to be quickly shifted by golf course personnel.
Abstract: A filter screen for cathode ray tubes (CRT) which diffuses electromagnetic radiation. The screen is encased in a frame which includes a conductive frame element. The frame is attached to the CRT by one or more hangers which extend from the frame.
Abstract: A padlock protector for use with swing-out type closures. The protector includes a block pivotably connected to one of the lock arm catch and closure member. The block includes peripheral flanges and a recessed body to partially surround the shackle and housing of the padlock and prevents opening thereof by cutting or prying the shackle and separating it from the housing.
Abstract: An anchor for releasably securing a seat to the floor of a vehicle. The anchor includes a base having spaced channels and an anchor member having a channel part and guide aligned with the base member channels to house the seat tubular frame and provide support against upward relative movement of the base and anchor.
Abstract: A security device for padlocks used in conjunction with a locking mechanism for a roll-up type truck door. The security device includes a block which has upstanding projecting walls to shield the shackle and housing of the padlock and prevent tampering or unauthorized opening.
Abstract: A replaceable spindle assembly which includes a pair of plates connecting the spindle to the axle and fastened together by mounting bolts. One plate includes annular ribs which fit within annular grooves in the other plate to distribute the shear forces transmitted by the spindle to the axle through the plates.
Abstract: A method and apparatus of collecting volatile contaminants from a contaminated layer of earth. The apparatus is a closed-loop device which includes one or more contaminant withdrawal wells surrounded by multiple air reinjection wells connected by a conduit. One or more pumps serve to draw volatilized contaminant through the withdrawal well to the connecting conduit where it is captured or neutralized. Residual air from the withdrawal well is urged back into the ground through the air reinjection wells to encourage further contaminant to move toward the withdrawal well for collection.
Abstract: A vehicle window assembly which includes first and second separate window glazing panels. The first window is fixed while the second may be pivoted between open and closed positions by a hand crank connected to a peripheral linkage system by a shaft, with the linkage connected to the second window. The hand crank is located at the center of the shaft and the shaft includes stop means for preventing overturning of the hand crank past the full open position of the window.

Abstract: Corner joiner units for connecting standard two-by-four lumber and the manner of making structures from these is depicted. The corner units are of plastic and have two horizontal sleeves for receiving horizontal two-by-fours and at least one vertical sleeve for receiving the butt end of a vertical two-by-four. The plastic unit includes internal walls and internal openings between the sleeves, so that each two-by-four received in the horizontal sleeves is in direct wood-to-wood contact with approximately half of the butt surface of the vertical two-by-four, so as to directly transfer vertical forces there between, without the joiner unit being subject to such vertical forces. Several variations of such joiner units are disclosed for different types of corners, as is a framework made from such members and two-by-fours.
Abstract: An air diffuser constructed from single piece of material, wherein the mounting member and diffuser sections are formed in a series of stamping operations and are interconnected by a plurality of integral links.
Abstract: A process for vaporizing a liquid curing agent includes heating the liquid curing agent while it is stored in a container. Heat is delivered to the container by a heated fluid passed through a jacket which at least partially surrounds the storage container. After vaporization, the gaseous phase curing agent, usually methyl formate, methylal, or other gases, is delivered to one or more work stations where it is used in a curing reaction.
