    Abstract: A process for deposition of polycrystalline silicon from the gas phase on ated carrier bodies of carbon, which comprises assembling the carrier bodies from extremely thin flexible graphite foils, heating the bodies to deposition temperature, while contacting them with a gaseous mixture containing a decomposable silicon compound and, if desired, hydrogen, and separating the deposited silicon from the carrier body, after termination of the deposition process, by mechanical means. The polycrystalline silicon can either be deposited in the form of shaped hollow bodies for use as laboratory equipment or in the semiconductor industries, or it may be processed to monocrystalline materials.

    Abstract: A device is provided for the continuous treatment of relatively wide textile webs in a treatment medium, wherein the web and the treatment medium move through a trough having squeezing rollers associated therewith for intensifying the treatment of the web with the treatment medium and wherein a funnel-shaped diffuser is disposed at the entrance end of the trough for introducing the web of material into the trough. The device includes squeezing means which are disposed adjacent to the diffuser means and which include a pair of coacting, rotatable squeeze rollers which define therebetween a squeezing nip disposed beneath the surface of the treatment medium and through which the web passes prior to introduction into the diffuser. Deflection means are also provided which are disposed adjacent to the discharge end of the nip of the rollers for facilitating removal of the web from engagement with the circumferential surface of the rollers and for guiding the web into the trough.

The joining unit has two, link-type upper and lower conveyors for the sheets shaped by the rolling-mills, at least one of which is adjustable, so that the distance between them may be regulated according to the thickness of the panel, with the conveyors being arranged to revolve continuously around rollers which rotate about a horizontal axis. An article produced by the apparatus is also provided.The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing insulating panels and the panels produced thereon.
