  • Patent number: 6404167
Abstract: The battery charging device obtains an open-circuit voltage at the time of 70% capacity based on information stored in a ROM of a battery package prior to the charge, and upon measuring an open-circuit voltage of the battery package by a voltage measuring portion, if this open-circuit voltage is higher than the obtained open-circuit voltage, a second indicator is switched ON to indicate that the remaining capacity is not less than 70% to thereby enable discrimination among batteries requiring charge or that do not prior to starting charging.

  • Patent number: 6378161
Abstract: A cleaning element (1) for use in the fuser section of electrostatographic reproduction or printing apparatus. The element includes projections projecting from an outer surface to form a pile (5). The cross section of each projection has a cross section having a peripheral dimension and an area. The ratio of the peripheral dimension and area is greater than the same ratio for a projection of circular or substantially circular and equal area of cross section. The projections may be formed by tri-lobal fibres.

  • Patent number: 6373228
Abstract: Rotation of an air-blowing motor is continued also upon completion of charge; by retrieving a presumed temperature for cooling and upon detecting that a measured temperature is higher than the presumed temperature for cooling by not less than a specified value, a LED lamp is switched ON for indicating that clogging of an airflow path of a battery package has occurred, and an abnormal condition is written to an EEPROM of the battery package.

  • Patent number: 6361393
Abstract: Enjoyable propulsion toys can be readily propelled by special magnetic impulse reaction systems. The toys include attractive resilient projectiles which are constructed of foam rubber in order to be safe for children. The projectiles are propelled from base units which contain circuitry for the magnetic impulse reaction systems. Preferably, the circuitry includes a flash tube for emitting a flash of light when the projectile is propelled. Desirably, the circuitry also includes an acoustical generator to generate propulsion sounds when the projectile is propelled. The projectile can be in the form of a: toy rocket, toy airplane, toy glider, toy wheeled vehicle, or toy bullet.

  • Patent number: 6355684
Abstract: An improved medical treatment and medicine is provided to quickly and safely resolve herpes and other microbial infections. The inexpensive user-friendly medicine can be applied and maintained on the infected region until the physical symptoms of the disease disappears and the patient is comfortable and has a normal appearance. The attractive medicine comprises an antimicrobial concentrate comprising microbe inhibitors, phytochemicals or isolates. Desirably, the effective medicine comprises a surfactant and an aqueous carrier or solvent. In the preferred form, the medicine comprises Echinacea phytochemicals and benzalkonium chloride in a sterile water solution.

  • Patent number: 6353705
Abstract: A speed control circuit of a direct current motor comprises a switching regulator IC 10. The switching regulator IC 10 is composed of a reference voltage generator 12 which generates a reference voltage of 5V, a first operational amplifier OP1, a second operational amplifier OP2, a third operational amplifier OP3, a triangular wave generator 14 which generates a triangular wave, and a transistor TR1. The speed control circuit is constructed using a general switching regulator IC; therefore, it is possible to cheaply and readily manufacture the speed control circuit of the direct current motor.

  • Patent number: 6348503
Abstract: Improved topical treatment of active phase lesions resulting from recurrent viral infection by herpes simplex virus which includes the use of two primary agents, namely, an aqueous solution of benzalkonium halide, preferably benzalkonium chloride, and a dry form of the herb Echinacea purpurea, preferably in powder form. Active phase herpes lesions are wetted with the benzalkonium chloride solution and dusted with the powder form of Echinacea purpurea to create a coating on the wetted lesion surface. The coating is maintained on the lesion throughout treatment, and unexpected rapid resolution of the lesions results.

  • Patent number: 6343389
Abstract: A water outlet (10) for an ablutionary device has a member which is moved to open and close a vent into the body of the outlet (10). In one embodiment, the outlet (10) is a shower head (10A) having a discharge opening (26) which serves as the vent. A perforate shower plate (12A) located in the opening closes the vent while the shower (10A) is in operation so that water issues from the opening (past the plate (12A)) as a spray. When the water supply is turned off the shower plate (12A) is moved out of the opening (26) to open an annular vent (14A) into the interior of the body of the shower head (10A) to aid drying of the interior. When the water supply is turned on the plate (12A) is moved back into the opening (26) to close the vent (14A).
