Abstract: A mobile switching center receives a call to a wireless telephone unit and determines if the wireless telephone unit is available to receive calls. If the wireless unit is unavailable, the mobile switching center forwards the call to a wireless service node, preferably immediately and without providing any ring back tone to the calling party. The wireless service node prompts the calling party to speak a message for transmission to the wireless telephone unit. The wireless service node converts the message spoken by the calling party from a speech message to a text message and forwards text message to a short message service center for transmission to the wireless unit.
Abstract: A golf club holder useful for holding selected golf clubs in a generally upright position once such selected golf clubs have been extracted from the golf club bag for use by a golfer on the fairway or green approaching a hole. Such golf club holder includes a pointed shaft for insertion into the ground, a handle for ease in insertion and retraction of the golf club holder from the ground, a cigar holder, a bag hanger, and an international orange colored head assembly for ease in locating the golf club holder.
Abstract: An overlay device and a method for making an overlay device for verifying the correct placement of assembled components on a printed circuit board. The overlay device has laser-cut cutouts to assist users to more precisely verify the correct assembly of components.
Abstract: A universal fit fuel tank includes two forward adjustment channels and one rear adjustment channel. The adjustment channels are formed by attaching a retainer plate over indentations in a tunnel, the tunnel extending longitudinally through the fuel tank. Each retainer plate has an adjustment slot located over each indentation in the tunnel. A bracket is movably attached at each adjustment channel for attaching the fuel tank to a frame. Each bracket is attached to the fuel tank by passing a bolt through a hole in the bracket, through the adjustment slot, and into the adjustment channel, where the bolt threadingly engages a nut.
Abstract: The invention is a pop-up device adapted to allow for a number of triggering means and a number of special effects upon triggering of the device. The pop-up device may be placed in a hollow section of a cake, which is later iced over so that the candle holder is not visible. In the preferred embodiment, the base of the device supports the pop-up mechanism within a housing. The device is held in a compressed state by a release mechanism. Upon triggering of the release mechanism, the device is released and pushed through the cake or other confection, thereby providing surprise and entertainment. In alternative embodiments, the device is actuated by a drive mechanism or a fuse.
Abstract: A method for making a paintball grenade includes adding a thickening agent, a coloring agent, and a mixing agent to an enclosure, such as a balloon. Water is added to the enclosure and combines with the thickening agent and the coloring agent to form a colored, gelatinous liquid. The mixing agent facilitates the mixing of the thickening agent and the coloring agent with the water. The enclosure can be thrown or launched during a game of paintball to eliminate players on an opposing team from the game.
Abstract: An overlay device for verifying the correct placement of assembled components on a printed circuit board. The overlay device has cutouts to assist users to more precisely verify the correct placement of components with or without leads. Some overlay embodiments have writing, printing, engraving, and etching to assist a user in identifying which product the overlay is to be used with, what point in the assembly the overlay is to be used, and the correct orientation and spacing for the components.
Abstract: A moveable track cover is provided for use with a mechanism configured to move along a track. One example of such a mechanism is a pipe racking system used on off-shore oil and gas platforms. One end of the moveable track cover is connected to the pipe racking system mechanism which moves along the track. The other end of the track cover is spooled onto a drum. Rotation of the drum is controlled by a motor which exerts enough force to maintain the track cover in constant tension. When the pipe racking system mechanism moves towards the drum, the motor rotates the drum to roll the track cover onto the drum. When the pipe racking system mechanism moves away from the drum, it pulls the track cover off of the drum. By attaching a track cover to each side of the pipe racking system mechanism, the track along which the pipe racking system mechanism travels is kept covered at all times. The track cover may be constructed of a sheet of stainless steel strengthened by rib assemblies.
Abstract: A collapsible tube squeezer assists the process of dispensing the content of a collapsible tube, and holds the wound emptied portion of the tube. A tube squeezer is formed from a continuous strip of material, with a long slot where the sealed end of the tube can be inserted. As the tube squeezer is pushed toward the dispensing end of the tube, the material stored in the tube can be forced out of the dispensing end. At the same time, the emptied portion of the tube is left flat, so that it can be easily rolled to the tube squeezer position. Locking arms can then be pulled across the rolled tube. A locking mechanism at the ends of the locking arms is engaged to hold the rolled tube in place.
Abstract: A pressure accumulator apparatus is disclosed for use in offshore drilling and production which comprises a pressure vessel (30) having a first compartment (34) and a second compartment (38), a partition (32) between the first compartment and the second compartment, a means for admitting fluid at ambient pressure into a portion (44) of the first compartment, a means for controlling an amount of hydraulic fluid ejected from a portion (46) of the second compartment, a first piston member (48) circumscribed by an interior wall of the first compartment, said first piston member being capable of sliding within the first compartment, a second piston member (50) circumscribed by an interior wall of the second compartment, said second piston member being capable of sliding within the second compartment, and a means (52) for connecting the first piston member and the second piston member.
Abstract: A system for accessing and analyzing data through a central processing unit. The system includes a non-modal user interface to provide a user access to the system. A number of application graphics objects allow the user to visually interact with a plurality of analysis objects through the non-modal user interface. The plurality of application analysis objects allow a user to interactively create an analysis network for analyzing one or more databases. A plurality of application data access objects automatically interprets the analysis network and allows the system to access required databases and to generate structure query language required to access and analyze the databases as defined within the analysis network.
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method of manufacturing a marine riser constructed of an aluminum alloy having a high strength-to-weight ratio is provided. The inventive riser apparatus comprises a plurality of riser sections coupled serially end-to-end, wherein each of the riser section comprises a pipe having a first end and a second end, a first flanged coupling welded to the first end of the pipe, and a second flanged coupling welded to the second end of the pipe, wherein the pipe is constructed of an aluminum alloy having a strength-to-weight ratio greater than that of steel. The riser apparatus may optionally include one or more auxiliary lines providing hydraulic communication with a blowout preventer.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for reconstructing a high-fidelity pressure waveform with a balloon catheter used in a heart. First, a balloon catheter having an air line is inserted into the aorta of the heart. The air line is then closed and sufficient air is introduced in order to equalize the pressure in the balloon catheter and the aorta. The AC components of the aortic pressure and the mean aortic pressure are detected separately and then added to form a high-fidelity pressure waveform. The high fidelity pressure waveform may be displayed on an oscilloscope, a patient monitor, or other suitable display.
