  • Patent number: 5848539
Abstract: A ring has two zig-zag interior sidewalls and two opposite exterior sidewalls, where the walls form three parallel channels each receiving one of the rows of precious stones. Each interior sidewall has alternating inward and outward facing protruding projections extending into the channels, and each exterior sidewall has multiple small inward facing recesses. The alternative inward-facing protruding projections of one zig-zag sidewall are respectively paired with the alternative inward-facing protruding projections of the other zig-zag sidewall. The alternative outward-facing protruding projections of each zig-zag sidewall are paired with the small inward facing recesses of the respective adjacent exterior sidewall. The stones of the middle row have cutout grooves on both sides of each stone. The stones of the two outside rows have a cutout groove on only one side of each stone.

  • Patent number: 5848167
Abstract: A distributed pre-emphasis equalizer comprises a partial pre-emphasizer and a (50) microsecond pre-emphasizer. The partial pre-emphasizer receives an input signal and produces a partially pre-emphasized output signal. The (50) microsecond pre-emphasizer receives the partially pre-emphasized output signal from the partial pre-emphasizer and adds a (50) microsecond equalization to produce a pre-emphasized output signal equal to a standard (75) microsecond pre-emphasis curve. The distributed pre-emphasis equalizer allows an FM audio processor to produce only the "dulling" effect of a (50) microsecond pre-emphasis even when generating a (75) microsecond pre-emphasis curve. The distributed pre-emphasis equalizer also creates a pre-emphasizing method which is inherently compatible with both the (75) microsecond and (50) microsecond standards. Furthermore, the distributed pre-emphasis equalizer creates a pre-emphasizing method which is easily switchable between the (75) and (50) microsecond standards.

  • Patent number: 5842810
Abstract: An adaptor for quickly connecting and releasing a T-shaped bar which holds a mop head and a mop handle to form a complete mop for use. The T-shaped bar has a horizontal base portion and a vertical threaded portion. The horizontal base portion is adapted to the mop head, while the vertical threaded portion is adapted to the adaptor. A mop handle or stick is then adapted to the rear of the adaptor. The adaptor has a spring biased pawl which is pivotally mounted thereon, such that when the tip of the pawl is engaged with the vertical threaded portion of the T-shaped bar by the spring, it locks the movement of the adaptor. However, by simply rotating the adaptor, the adaptor will be further threaded on the vertical threaded portion of the T-shaped bar to precisely adjust the tightness of the adaptor to the T-shaped bar. When the pawl is pressed against the spring, an individual can quickly release the adaptor from the vertical portion of the T-shaped bar, which in turn releases the mop head.

  • Patent number: 5820368
Abstract: A disposable applicator has a translucent bonder tip member that forms an orthodontic attachment which bonds to the surface of the tooth in one easy motion, where an orthodontic wire or rubber band may be placed thereon and held in position to correct irregular teeth of an individual. The curing resin is placed in a shaped contour cavity of the bonder tip member and then it is positioned against each surface of the tooth. Then a curing light is shined on the resin through the translucent bonder tip member so that the resin becomes hardened and forms the orthodontic attachment on the surface of the tooth. The disposable applicator may also retain a conventional orthodontic button therein so that an orthodontist can rapidly and effortlessly bond the orthodontic button to each surface of the tooth.
