Abstract: An automatic pneumatic bar feeding apparatus for automatically feeding a plurality of bar stocks to a work station, such as a computer numerical control (CNC) machine for processing, thereby eliminating the need to reload the bar feeding apparatus with another bar stock one at a time. The bar feeding apparatus comprises a rotary which turns a loading unit 45° to a loading position for loading a bar stock onto the loading assembly from a holding tray. After the bar stock has been loaded onto the loading assembly, the rotary turns the loading assembly back to its initial position or feeding position. A pneumatic motor supplies air to a rear feeding assembly, wherein the feeding assembly pushes the bar stock to the work station for processing. When the feeding assembly has fed the majority of the bar stock into the CNC machine, the rotary turns the loading assembly back to the loading position.
Abstract: A cuff apparatus, comprising a cushioning device, is adapted to be releasably wrapped around a body part of an individual in order to massage the body part. The cuff has two ends which include cooperating hook and loop fasteners. The cushioning device has first and second air support structures, where each support structure has alternating offset air glands. One of the two support structures has alternating apertures, wherein the alternating air glands of one of the two support structures are respectively inserted into the alternating offset apertures to form a matrix surface arrangement of the cushioning device. The air cushioning device creates a massaging effect by rapidly inflating the air glands of one of the two support structures while rapidly deflating the air glands of the other one of the two support structures, thereby creating a massaging effect.
Abstract: A microphone output limiter which detects the amplitude of a microphone and produces a control signal which lowers the microphone's impedance when the amplitude of the audio signal exceeds a preselected threshold level. The output signal is detected at the output of the microphone or it may be detected at the output of a later pre-amplifier stage. Once a control signal is generated it is coupled to a variable impedance device which produces a shunt load impedance across the output of the microphone thereby lowering its impedance. The microphone, as well as the variable impedance device, may be coupled through impedance converters in order to facilitate component matching.
Abstract: A hands-free activating valve which permits liquid to flow and be ingested by the user. The apparatus includes a mouth portion and a mounting portion which engages to the opening of a container such as a water bottle. Embedded within the mouth portion is the hands-free activating valve which includes an elongated flexible arch shaped activating stem, where one end is fixed to a holding plate and the other end is attached to a valve. The activating stem has memory which allows the stem to return to its initial condition. The valve is seated on a valve seat of the mounting portion for blocking liquid from exiting the apparatus. In addition, there is also an elongated liquid channel which is located adjacent to the activating stem. This liquid channel extends from the holding plate to the valve and communicates to the outside for allowing the liquid to flow therethrough and be consumed by the user.
Abstract: A method or apparatus to be used with a telephone system, such as a private branch exchange (PBX) trunk, for transmitting extended station information to an emergency call handling center, such as a public safety answering point (PSAP). The apparatus has a central processing unit (CPU) which is connected a PBX interface, a memory database, a first loop interface, and a second loop interface. The PBX interface is connected to the PBX trunk and receives an emergency call from a specified station which initiated the emergency call. The memory database stores information on the plurality of extension stations within a facility. The first loop interface is connected to the PSAP. The second loop interface is also connected to the PSAP. The CPU connects the audio of the emergency call to the first loop interface which in turn transmits the audio to the PSAP.
Abstract: A pneumatic bar feeding apparatus for advancing a length of bar stock to a CNC center machine for processing and including a pair of concentric tubular members which are housed in a housing supported by a pair of vertical spaced apart support stands. The inner tubular member is spaced from the interior surface of the outer tubular member by at least three bearing and bushing devices which are located at three separate locations. A rear end of the inner tubular member is airtightly sealed so that air pressure does not leak out. An actuating assembly is movably installed within the inner tubular member and includes a slidable piston, a rod connected to the piston and a coil spring which surrounds the rod and biasing the rod from entering into a bar carrier which is also movably installed within the inner tubular member. The bar carrier comprises a plurality of step-down interior portions for accommodating a plurality of different size diameters of the bar stock.
Abstract: A unitary molded flexible elastomer floor dust mop attachment in which the flexible member is affixed at a location between the floor dust mop handle and the floor dust mop head. Through the use of the elastomeric controlled flexible member being rectangular or elongated in shape, the handle maintains rigidity in the direction in which the dust mop head is moved but is flexible in the lateral direction and therefore can be bent at controlled angles relative to the floor dust mop head. Therefore, when the floor dust mop head comes in contact with a stationary object such as the leg of a table, the floor dust mop head will flex or flow around the object without damage to the mop head or object.
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for providing self-learning correction to the error in positioning movement of a platform in a vehicular wheelchair lift or any moving member of machinery or an equipment. The method includes the steps of programming the platform or moving member to stop at a target position, calculating an error between the programmed target position and an actual stop position of the platform or moving member, and deriving a new target position to stop the platform or moving member based on the calculated error to compensate the overshoot or shortcoming of the actual stop position of the platform or moving member. The apparatus implementing this method may include a programmable control mechanism such as a microprocessor having means for performing the programmed sequential operations.
Abstract: An apparatus for converting a conventional hand-held dustpan into a stand-up dustpan having a debris barrier to be used by a standing user, including a hand-held dustpan, an upwardly extending handle and a debris barrier.
