  • Patent number: 5026110
Abstract: A collapsible convertible top or roof for motor vehicles has a linkage system including a front roof frame, a rear roof frame, a main roof arch, a two-part retaining rod supporting the roof arch against a tension bracket, and a linkage for displacing the roof frames and parts of the retaining rod between an extended position and a collapsed position. To assure stability of the linkage system with the convertible top in the extended or closed position, a locking mechanism is provided including a pivotal locking bar displaceable between a locked position and a released position by an actuating lever moved in accordance with the operation of the convertible top or roof. The actuating lever is mounted on one of two cooperating parts and pivots about an axis parallel to an articulation axis of the parts. A catch cooperates with the locking bar for securing the extended position.

  • Patent number: 5025870
Abstract: A portable hand-held tool, such as a hammer drill or chisel hammer, includes a housing having a main vibration axis and a handle displaceably secured to the housing and movable toward the housing against compression springs. The springs have an axis of compression disposed at an angle to the main vibration axis. When the handle is displaced toward the housing, the spring is compressed. At the same time, however, the increased force of the spring is compensated by the increase in the angle of the spring relative to the main vibration axis. As a result, though the spring force increases, its component acting in the main vibration axis direction is reduced, and the spring force acting in the main vibration axis direction remains constant.

  • Patent number: 5024362
Abstract: A guard intended to prevent hand-injuries against tear-bars has an elongated form (6) and extends parallel with a tear-edge and is moveable in a direction transversal to its longitudinal axis. The guard (6) has a length equal to the length of the tear-bar (2). The guard (6) is guided in a gap (5) defined between a strip-like (4) front side of the tear-bar (2) and an inwardly angled part of the wall (1) of the casing intended to accommodate, for instance, a paper-roll holder incorporating the tear-bar (2). For the purpose of limiting movement of the guard (6) between an outer active guard position and an inner inactive position, in which the tear-edge of the tear-bar (2) is exposed, there is provided along the guard (6) a rib (8) which abuts the free edge of the strip-like front side of the tear-bar in the outer position of the guard. • Patent number: 5021265
Abstract: A roll arrangement for the non-deforming treatment of moving web-type or strip-type products. The arrangement includes at least two rotatable rolls which are adjustable radially relative to each other. The arrangement is used, for example, for drying one or both surfaces of the product. The rolls are axially adjustable in opposite direction and each roll has slightly S-shaped or bottle-shaped contour over the entire length of the roll body, in such a way that the contours of two rolls arranged on both sides of a roll gap complement each other only in a certain relative axial position of these rolls. In other axial positions of the rolls, the roll gap becomes narrower either in the center or at the ends of the rolls, so that a uniform pressing action or other uniform non-deforming treatment of the product is possible over the entire width of the product independently of the bending of the rolls and/or deviations from the plane-parallelism of the surfaces of the product.
