  • Patent number: 5038594
Abstract: An arrangement for guiding rolled material, particularly section steel, between the rolls of a rolling mill stand. The arrangement includes support beams which are located transversely of the rolling direction above and below the pitch line. The support beams are mounted on pairs of housing posts so as to be vertically movable and driven by a lifting motor. Support members for guide elements of a pair of guide elements for the rolled material are connected to the support beams so as to be pivotable, adjustable and fixable. Each support member of the guide elements is arranged on an independent additional support beam connected to the pair of housing posts. The additional support beam is exchangeably and releasably connectible and fixable to the support beam.

  • Patent number: 5039296
Abstract: Apparatus for producing press-molded articles having a plurality of cavities therein includes a mold cavity which can be filled with a particulate molding compound, which mold cavity contains rods sheathed with expandable tubes which can be expanded by means of a fluid under pressure conveyed into the space between the rods and the tubes: this causes compaction of the molding compound to form the pressed article, which can be removed from the mold after reduction of the fluid pressure to allow detumescence of the expandable tubes and withdrawal of these from the mold cavity so that the mold cavity can be opened to remove the shaped pressed article.

  • Patent number: 5036746
Abstract: A loading strip (1) for supplying individual explosive powder charges in a setting tool is formed of an elongated belt-shaped member (2). The member has openings (2a) therethrough with a hollow receptacle (3) projecting outwardly at each opening from one surface of the member (2). The interior of the hollow receptacle (3) in combination with the corresponding opening (2a) form a space for holding an explosive powder charge. Annular gap (2b) encircles each opening (2a) and extends inwardly from the opposite side of the member from the receptacles. A bulge-like projection extends into the space formed by the receptacle and the member. The projection has a hollow recess (2c) located eccentrically relative to the opening and the hollow space and faces the opposite side of the member (2). An ignition medium (6) is placed in the hollow recess (2c). A base plate (7) forms a closure for the explosive powder charge space and the ignition medium hollow recess.

  • Patent number: 5036928
Abstract: A device for drilling an undercut in a borehole in a receiving material comprises an axially extending guide sleeve with an eccentric bore and an eccentric bushing located in the eccentric bore and being rotatable therein relative to the sleeve. A tension spring is located between the sleeve and the bushing. During rotation of the bushing, relative to the sleeve, the torsion spring is stressed. A drive shaft with a cutter head at one end extends through the bushing and is brought into an eccentric position relative to the sleeve and at the same time commences an undercut in the borehole. A lock is provided with a set of teeth on the sleeve preventing rotation of the sleeve with the bushing. When the maximum eccentricity of the drive shaft is established, the lock can be released and the sleeve rotated along with the bushing by an eccentric transmission. During such rotation, a complete circumferentially extending undercut can be formed in the borehole.

  • Patent number: 5035304
Abstract: Abraded dust arising during operation of a disc brake and having the effect of contaminating the environment may be collected and stored in a container of the disc brake according to the invention. This container should be large enough to enable it to accumulate as much abraded dust as is generated in the course of the lifetime of a pair of brake shoes. The container preferably includes a housing embracing one part of the brake disc, and a filter disposed between the housing and the brake disc. The filter is constructed of several layers of the same type or of different types and includes an arrangement adapted to guidedly introduce into the filter the air stream carrying the dust abraded off the brake components during the operation of the brake. In a filter made of two layers, these layers may be held to advantage fastened in their place by a flow guide grating or lattice adapted to guide the air stream with abraded dust in its flow into the filter.

  • Patent number: 5036419
Abstract: The disclosed electro-mechanical transducing element has an elongated shape and is mechanically deformable in response to a supplied electrical signal. One or more electrically conductive portions are formed to run along the direction of elongation to form one or more electrical paths for one or more electrical members which are to be affixed to a portion or portions near the free end of the elongated element. According to a disclosed embodiment the electrical member or members are mechanically moved through mechanical deformation of the element. Electrical lead wires are connected to the electrically conductive portions at the first end of the element opposite the free end, thereby eliminating the influence of the lead wires on the deformation performance of the element.

  • Patent number: 5033866
Abstract: A multiple thermocouple sensor for thermal analysis includes a plurality of thermocouples with elements and element junctions mounted on a carrier plate in the form of a thick film. The elements extend in semicircles and the element junctions are arranged in a circle to form a measuring point. Each measuring point has an electric connection. Since the thermocouples are in the form of thick film, they can be arranged closely together. Twenty element junctions may be provided at each measuring point. A sample dish and a reference dish used at the measuring points have multiple contact with the element junctions. This increases not only the measuring accuracy but also the sensitivity of the multiple thermocouple sensor.
