Abstract: A pet washing and drying apparatus which can wash and dry a pet simply in a short period of time, and with a simplified structure to reduce costs.
Abstract: Eyeglasses having a lens frame removably attached to an eyewear platform using different attachment devices such as magnets, clips, snap connections or other attachment devices that provide effective resistance from said lens frame from becoming involuntarily detached from said eyewear platform. This eyewear allows the user to quickly and easily change lenses or sunglasses.
Abstract: An audio signal cable, the features of which are that the audio signal cable has arrayed solid and tinsel wire conductors. After each of the conductors are insulated and bundled, they are placed into a surrounding insulation. The solid conductors are of a circular and a flat, thin shape. The solid conductors are of differing larger and smaller diameters and, furthermore, disposed in unequal quantities.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cooking appliance used for boiling or cooking food, or more particularly, to a cooking pot, which can rapidly heat water or food, and thereafter can suppress overflowing of water or food therein, while simultaneously maintaining its suitable temperature and pressure, thereby shortening its cooking time while enhancing its safety and convenience during cooking.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for mounting auxiliary eyeglasses on conventional eyeglasses in which magnets having shaped surfaces are attached to appendages on the auxiliary eyeglasses mating with magnets having complimentary shaped surfaces mounted on the temple extensions of conventional eyeglasses. The magnets on the auxiliary eyeglasses are mounted in sockets formed on the appendages on the auxiliary eyeglass frame fit beneath the temple extensions on the conventional eyeglasses frame to hold the auxiliary frames in place solely by the magnetic attractive force. The shaped surfaces of the magnets mate when the auxiliary eyeglasses are mounted on the conventional eyeglasses. The magnets may be recessed in sockets formed on one side while the magnets extend out of the sockets on the other side. A wide variety of magnet shapes and configurations are possible.
Abstract: A tampon comprising and elongated absorptive member, housing an elongated expandable member having a hollow cavity, which is expandable on insertion of air. Optionally, at least one non-absorptive member is arranged in a spaced relationship about the outside surface of the tampon material, the non-absorptive members causing a spacing between the absorptive member and vagina wall. This increases the comfort at the interface of the tampon with the vaginal walls.
Abstract: A safety mechanism in a cigarette lighter that utilizes a multi-button system: a button and a button cover. The button has at least two elevations and is placed adjacent to the button cover. The button cover is coupled to one of the elevations of the button. A blocking element limits the downward movement of the button cover sufficiently to prevent activation of the piezo unit. To operate the lighter, the user must apply pressure to the button to operate release fuel and to operate the piezo unit to generate a spark.
Abstract: An accelerometer or a seismometer using an in-plane suspension geometry having a suspension plate and at least one fixed capacitive plate. The suspension plate is formed from a single piece and includes an external frame, a pair of flexural elements, and an integrated proof mass between the flexures. The flexural elements allow the proof mass to move in the sensitive direction in the plane of suspension while restricting movement in all off-axis directions. Off-axis motion of the proof mass is minimized by the use of intermediate frames disbursed within and between the flexural elements. Intermediate frames can include motion stops to prevent further relative motion during overload conditions. The device can also include a dampening structure, such as a spring or gas structure that includes a trapezoidal piston and corresponding cylinder, to provide damping during non-powered states.

Abstract: A means of miniaturizing the rugged, spectroscopic gas analyzer for rapid, non-invasive, multicomponent analysis of breath described in application Ser. No. 09/891,106, Filed on Jun. 25, 2001. A significant (ca. 4×) reduction in analyzer dimensions is achieved through a redesign of the optical bench: single detectors of IR radiation are replaced by detector arrays. A number of embodiments are discussed.
Abstract: An audio and video signal cable consisting of parallel arrayed conductors having different geometric shapes and cross-sectional areas. Each conductor is individually insulated and all conductors are surrounded by a common insulation. Tinsel, enamel covered wire, or 100% fiber covered copper can be utilized as conductors.
Abstract: A plastic shell heater utilizing multiple deflectors and vents at the top of interior of a portable heater to direct the heat away from the surface of the heater. This dramatically lowers the temperature of the external surfaces of the heater and allows the use of plastic as the material for the shell of the heater and also allows the use of heat sensitive electronic control panel for the heater.
Abstract: A chemical vapor deposition reactor for depositing a thin film on at least a substrate through a reaction between a vertical input reagent gas flow and the at least a substrate is provided, in which a vertical output reagent gas flow is produced after the reaction. The reactor includes a vertical tube, at least a reaction chamber located inside the vertical tube, an input flow baffle located on the at least a reaction chamber, and at least a gas exit installed on the at least a reaction chamber for exhausting the vertical input reagent gas flow and the vertical output reagent gas flow. In addition, the substrate is located at the bottom of the at least a reaction chamber. The provided reactors allow the achievement of more efficient heating process, lower gas consumption and higher growth uniformity than the conventional reactors.
