  • Patent number: 8104807
Abstract: The invention concerns a pneumatic needle gripper that comprises two due slides (33) on board a gripper body (10) each carrying at least one pair of needle grippers (36). The needles on a slide are facing towards the needles on the other slide, each sloping and converging towards a frontal plane (16) of the gripper body. The slides can me moved simultaneously in opposite directions, by means of a pneumatic control piston (19), between an inactive position, in which the needles are retracted compared with the frontal plane and at a distance from each other, and an active position in which they protrude from the frontal plane to penetrate into a material to be picked up and moved.

  • Patent number: 8105242
Abstract: A process with a corresponding device for lung ventilation involves recording an image of the lung status with an electric impedance tomography (EIT) system (2) and the total area of ventilated lung areas is determined by a computing unit (4) from all image values, subsequently divided into at least two lung areas and the extent of the homogeneity of the ventilated lung areas is determined by comparison of the impedance changes within these areas. In case of a homogeneity rated as being too low, the respiration pressures are increased step by step by means of the respirator (1) and the respiration pressure at which the greatest possible homogeneity is obtained from subsequently determined status images is determined by means of the EIT system (2).

  • Patent number: 8104323
Abstract: A testing method for testing a flow controller with high accuracy by shortening as much as possible the time required for the test including the wait time. A testing-subject flow controller and a testing-standard flow controller are arranged in that order in series from the upstream side in a flow channel through which a fluid whose flow is to be controlled flows. In a flow-uncontrolled state in which the valve of the testing-subject flow controller is practically in the full-open state, and with the fluid flow controlled to a predetermined flow rate by the testing-standard flow controller, whether the actual flow-rate measurement according to the testing-subject flow controller falls within a predetermined range of actual flow-rate measurements according to the testing-standard flow controller is determined.
