  • Patent number: 7573491
Abstract: A method for formatting images for angle specific viewing in a scanning aperture dimensional display device. Input images are rearranged into slices or sections to create a set of output images. The images derived from the output images are formed by rearranging the image slices or sections and disposing the image to be viewed directly behind an open aperture in an aperture plate in a scanning aperture display device. By cycling the images in relation to the cycling of the open apertures of the aperture plate, angle specific viewing of the scanning aperture display can be provided. The number angles for angle specific viewing can be varied and can range from 2-1000 distinct viewing angles from a single scanning aperture display device.

  • Patent number: 7526047
Abstract: A method for coding messages by group codes over label alphabet and H-symmetric labeling is provided in order to encode geometrically uniform space-time trellis codes considering a distance spectrum. The coding method makes the complexity of code searching reduced considerably by limiting the object of the code design to geometrically uniform space-time trellis codes (STTCs). Therefore, it is possible to design the STTCs with many states, and also design the STTCs with superior performance.

  • Patent number: 7516220
Abstract: The present principles provide systems and methods for detecting robot-access of a web-based interface by utilizing a minimum expected human response time (MEHRT) to complete a pre-determined task. After a user is prompted to complete the pre-determined task, a user-response time is calculated. The user-response time is compared to the MEHRT and if the user-response time is less than the MEHRT, then the system determines that the user is a robot. Additionally and/or alternatively, the MEHRT may be employed to impose a time penalty on robots and thereby deter robot access of the interface. The time penalty may be imposed by preventing a user from completing the pre-determined task until the MEHRT has passed.

  • Patent number: 7511543
Abstract: An instantaneous phase error detector (IPED) and method includes a first gate configured to logically OR output phase error signals as data to a first latch, and a second gate configured to logically combine the output phase error signals to clock the first latch. A delay element delays to the data to the first latch where the output of the first latch provides instantaneous phase error change information. A second latch is coupled to the output phase error signals to output a lead/lag signal to indicate which of the output phase error signals is leading. A phase-locked loop employing the output of the IPED is also disclosed along with static phase measurement and jitter optimization features.

  • Patent number: 7512919
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for efficiently and incrementally updating the statistical timing of a digital circuit after a change has been made in the circuit. One or more changes in the circuit is/are followed by timing queries that are answered efficiently, constituting a mode of timing that is most useful in the inner loop of an automatic computer-aided design (CAD) synthesis or optimization tool. In the statistical re-timing, the delay of each gate or wire is assumed to consist of a nominal portion, a correlated random portion that is parameterized by each of the sources of variation and an independent random portion. Correlations are taken into account. Both early mode and late mode timing are included; both combinational and sequential circuits are handled; static CMOS as well as dynamic logic families are accommodated.
