  • Patent number: 5759608
Abstract: Non-fried instant noodles are manufactured by kneading wheat flour together with water or water containing additives to form a dough, rolling the dough by a rolling device to form a dough sheet, passing the dough sheet between molding rolls having a plurality of pyramid-shaped protrusions formed thereon to form pyramid-shaped recesses in rolled surfaces of the dough sheet, cutting the dough sheet into a plurality of strips such that each of the strips has formed therein at least one row of pyramid-shaped recesses aligned in a longitudinal direction of the strip, boiling the instant noodle strips with steam, and drying the boiled noodle strips with hot air. The thus obtained oil-free instant noodles have superior reconstituting property and transparent appearance, and can give smooth and soft chewiness. Further, the instant noodles are well matched with soup.

  • Patent number: 5754579
Abstract: A first object is to stabilize output of laser light. In order to achieve the first object, if it is detected by an output detection means (15) that the output (E) of laser light (La) has departed from a target value, whilst maintaining the voltage of a power source (17) at a fixed value or in a fixed range, the amount of laser gas supplied to a laser chamber (4) is controlled such that the output (E) of laser light becomes the target value. A second object is to reduce the wear of the pre-ionization electrodes and to prevent drop in output of laser light. The second object is achieved as follows. Specifically, the pulse current discharged from primary capacitor (C1) is stepped up in voltage by a pulse transformer and is charged onto a secondary capacitor (C2).

  • Patent number: 5742176
Abstract: An evaluation method of a silicon wafer by correctly calculating the Fe--B concentration is disclosed. Even when the SPV method is utilized, the over-estimated Fe--B concentration in silicon wafers containing oxygen-precipitation defects can be avoided. Diffusion lengths Lb and La of minority carriers in a P-type silicon wafer before and after an activation step are measured by the SPV method. A value of (Lb--La)/Lb calculated from La and Lb is compared with a constant C which is read from the plot of Lb vs. (Lb--La). If (Lb--La)/Lb is smaller than constant C, the concentration calculation is terminated since there are oxygen-precipitation defects in the silicon wafer. The calculation is carried out for silicon wafers containing no oxygen-precipitation defects, and is based on the formula of Fe--B concentration (cm.sup.-3).apprxeq.1.times.10.sup.16 (La.sup.-2 --Lb.sup.-2).
