  • Patent number: 8317182
Abstract: A method is provided to control a paper-processing machine. Following an occurrence of at least one error, the error is automatically detected with at least one detection device. Following the detection of the error, a measure is automatically introduced to counteract the error. The measure is then canceled at least in part if the error no longer occurs or the machine is stopped completely if the error is still detected by the detection device following completion of a predetermined criterion.

  • Patent number: 8315365
Abstract: Revenue leakage is one of the major concerns of telecom operators worldwide. There are several reasons for revenue leakage including frauds, data loss, poor utilization of network infrastructure, and churn. With the growth in subscriber base and increased competition in the market space, the lack of control on revenue leak could potentially affect the profit margins drastically. The operators are ever looking for solutions that could limit the various aspects of the revenue leakage. A system and method for addressing revenue leakage due to data loss in general and incomplete/partial data in particular needs to handle the issues related to the obtaining of additional information so that incomplete/partial data records lead to additional billing opportunity for the operators.

  • Patent number: 8314874
Abstract: A CCD such as a frame transfer CCD has an extended dynamic range. The image built up in the image region 1 in each integration period is transferred to the store region 2 in each frame transfer period, for example, at a TV signal rate. The dynamic range is increased by dividing the integration period into two parts, and clipping the signal in the first part, but not in the second. The signal is clipped by pulsing the clock electrodes of the image region so as to combine the charges from adjacent wells together, overspill being drained into the anti-blooming structure, consequently reducing well capacity.

  • Patent number: 8311879
Abstract: A system and related methods used by an organization to collect, manage, analyze and act on data (i.e., manage “customer value creation” or “CVC”) from customers. The system may be used by organizations without depending on consultants to manage customer value creation. The system comprises an integrated dataset and schema, termed “Customer Value Creation Data,” which comprises three data types: Differential Value Proposition; Demand Influence; and Opportunities. Differential Value Proposition is the ability of the organization's products and services to positively impact their customer's bottom line relative to the organization's competitors. The ability to create a DVP can be correlated to the investments and strategies made by the organization on an ongoing basis.

  • Patent number: 8310255
Abstract: A sensing probe for measuring device performance electrically at a delivery inspection is disclosed. The probe comprises a plunger, a barrel and a coil spring. The plunger provides a groove in an outer surface thereof, while, the inner surface of the barrel provides a projection. The groove comprises a plurality of unit patterns including a front groove and a rear groove. The projection slides in the front groove as the plunger is pulled into the barrel, while, it slides in the rear groove as the plunger is pushed out from the barrel. Moreover, the plunger rotates in the barrel as the projection slides in the front and rear grooves, which makes an area of the plunger coming in contact with the barrel always fresh and lowers the contact resistance between them.

  • Patent number: 8306275
Abstract: A method for signal conditioning of signals from a two-dimensional image by calculating the motion of an image in relation to an image plane. Two-dimensional structures in the image are correlated between images separated in time, using Radon transforms for two or more angles in order to reduce the correlation calculations from two-dimensional correlation to correlation of two or more one-dimensional projections. The one-dimensional projections are differentiated to obtain the gradients of the projections as the basis for the correlation of images separated in time and signal conditioning. The magnitude of the gradients of the projections is ignored and the sign value of the gradients is used for a binary representation as the basis for the correlation of images separated in time.
