    Abstract: A medical kit and method for treating an ailment, such as chronic pain is provided. The kit comprises first and second medical leads, e.g., stimulation leads. Each lead comprises an elongated body and at least one operative element. The first medical lead comprises a coupling mechanism, such as a slot, and the second medical lead comprises a complementary mechanism, such as a rail, that slidably engages the coupling mechanism of the first medical lead. The method may comprise delivering the first medical lead into a patient's body, e.g., into the epidural space of the patient, and delivering the second medical lead into the patient's body by sliding the complementary coupling mechanism of the second medical lead along the coupling mechanism of the first medical lead.

    Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for a super resolution radar image extraction procedure are disclosed. The super-resolution imaging radar (SRIR) system involves a pulse signal generator, an array bucket detector, an ancilla beam detector, and a coincidence circuit. The pulse signal generator propagates N number of bursts of radio frequency (RF) energy, where each burst contains M number of dithered pulses. The pulses are propagated towards an object of interest and the ancilla beam detector. The array bucket detector collects pulses that are reflected from the object. The ancilla beam detector scans in a direction of the dithered pulses, and collects the dithered pulses. The coincidence circuit calculates a cross-time correlation function from the pulses that are collected by the array bucket detector and the ancilla beam detector. The coincidence circuit sums cross-time correlation function results to generate pixels of an image of the object.

For each CAD detection, an expanded presentation window is displayed for its associated location in the medical image, the expanded presentation windows being displayed according to the timewise presentation sequence. Also described is a navigational tool comprising a plot of an operating curve onto which a computed feature associated with the CAD algorithm can be mapped, the operating curve characterizing an application of the CAD algorithm to a reference database of mammographic cases having known diagnoses.

The filter is substantially impermeable to tissue samples but allows the passage of fluids into the internal passageway at a plurality of spaced apart locations along at least a portion of the filter's length. When used to collect tissue samples, the samples are collected on the exterior surface of the filter. Thus, the filter can be removed from the sleeve, and samples can be removed from the exterior surface of the filter.

According to one preferred embodiment, a first x-ray mammogram image of a breast is received, and at least one altered version thereof is generated that differs therefrom by at least one of image shift, image rotation, and image inversion. The first x-ray mammogram image and each of the at least one altered versions thereof are individually processed using the foundational CAD algorithm to generate a respective plurality of individual CAD detection sets. The plurality of CAD detection sets are then compared to generate an overall CAD detection set.

    Abstract: A method of forming a printing pin includes providing a printing pin having an exterior surface and an interior surface that defines a lumen or capillary tract. The pin is treated to render the exterior and interior surfaces hydrophilic. The lumen or capillary tract is filled with a blocking material. The exterior surface of the pin is coated with a hydrophobic material. The blocking material is then removed. The method produces a pin with selective wetting properties. The modified pins reduce solution or reagents use because no excess liquid is picked up on the exterior surface during loading. As a result, no pre-printing operation is needed to remove this excess liquid. Because no pre-printing operation is needed, the pins produce shorter printing times. In addition, due to improved control of liquid loading volume, it is possible to obtain smaller spots as well as more spots in a given run.

    Abstract: Techniques for authenticating users when an operation requested by a user in one of the systems of a distributed system is redirected to another system of the distributed system. The user is authenticated in the usual way to the one system but is authenticated to the other system for the redirected operation by an authentication proxy in the first system. The fact that the authentication proxy is providing a redirected operation means that the user who requested the operation has been authenticated to the one system. The other system is thus able to authenticate the user for the redirected operation with different authentication information than would otherwise be required. An example of how the techniques are used is a distributed database system where one of the database systems in the distributed system is a cache for another of the database systems.
