    Abstract: The displacement of a part e.g. window driven by an electromotor in a vehicle is controlled. A jam is identified by comparing a status value (e.g. current or speed) of the electromotor or the closure device with a characteristic value indicating a jam. The position of e.g. the part is detected. The displacement is controlled based on the identification of a jam and the position of the part. If a jam is indicated, the electromotor is stopped for a short time or is reversed. It is determined whether the position of the part has altered or is altering before and/or after the indicated jam. If so, the closing motion is continued, if not, it is assumed that a jam has occurred and the electromotor is reversed. The stopping or reversing time period is so short to be imperceptible to the naked eye.

    Abstract: A sole assembly (1) for a sports shoe includes an upper layer (10), a middle layer (20) and a lower layer (30), which are integral with each other. The upper layer (10) and the lower layer (30) are formed of soft elastic materials, such as foamed rubber or the like. The middle layer (20) has a sheet (22) formed of synthetic resin or synthetic rubber with a hardness greater than that of the upper layer (10) and the lower layer (30). The sheet (22) has a plurality of protrusions or cleats (21) of truncated cone-shape that protrude downwardly and that are formed integrally with the sheet (22). The lower layer (30) has a plurality of through holes (31) receiving respective cleats (21) for insertion thereinto. The lower layer (30) made of a soft elastic member secures gripping properties and shock absorbing properties. An edge portion of a distal end (21a) of the cleat (21) advances the gripping properties by contacting the ground.

    Abstract: An automobile interior trim component includes a molded substrate laminated onto a cover sheet including a foam backing and a skin film having a surface texture. The cover sheet is preheated so the skin film is in a melted viscous liquid state above its melting temperature, and the foam backing remains in a solid elastic foam state below its melting temperature. The preheated cover sheet is mechanically pre-molded by a back mold into a front mold. Pressurized air is applied through the back mold, to blow-mold the cover sheet against the front mold, so the melted skin film reproduces a surface texture of the front mold surface while the solid foam backing acts as a buffer and air barrier layer. Vacuum is applied through the front mold surface. The mold is opened, a substrate is introduced, and the back mold then molds and thermally laminates the substrate against the foam backing of the cover sheet.

    Abstract: An arrangement for supplying air with a controlled pressure to the main weft insertion nozzles of an air jet loom includes a single servovalve connected between a pressurized air source, an air vent, and a pressure manifold, and individual shut-off valves respectively interposed in branch lines connected from the pressure manifold to the individual nozzles. A pressure sensor measures the actual pressure provided to the manifold. An electronic controller receives a pressure control signal and controls the servovalve responsive to any difference between the pressure control signal and the actual measured pressure signal. The arrangement is simple, economical, and rapidly reacting, to avoid the need of individual throttle valves or pressure regulators for the individual nozzles.

    Abstract: A test chamber is pivotably suspended in an aircraft, so that the center of gravity of the test chamber always self-actingly orients itself in the direction of the effective residual acceleration. To simulate a selected acceleration greater than 0 g and less than 1 g, the aircraft is flown along a parabolic flight path with a downward vertical acceleration such that the difference between Earth's gravitational acceleration and the aircraft's acceleration corresponds to the selected acceleration to be simulated. To simulate gravitational conditions on Mars, the aircraft is flown with a downward vertical acceleration of about ⅔ g, so that the residual acceleration acting on the test chamber is about ⅓ g. The atmospheric conditions, such as the gas composition, pressure and temperature, of Mars can also be established in the test chamber.

A cable guide element is mounted on a selected pass-through opening to guide a cable out of the channel. Unused pass-through openings are closed by blind inserts. The devices and conductor lines can be variably arranged in the channel.

The nominal diameter of the spacer elements corresponds to a specified stand-off distance between the mounting surface of the electronic component and the substrate. The spacer elements are made of a plastic material having a coefficient of thermal expansion that approximates the coefficient of expansion of the adhesive (e.g. the expansion coefficient of the adhesive is no more than 10 times the expansion coefficient of the plastic material of the spacer elements). When temperature changes occur, the spacer elements do not rigidly maintain the stand-off distance and so lead to distortion, but instead absorb at least a small amount of the arising strain by elastically deforming.

At least some of the threads include at least one elastomer selected from among fluoroelastomers, fluorosilicone elastomers, blend elastomers prepared by copolymerizing a mixture of raw crude silicone and fluorosilicone rubbers, and blend elastomers prepared by copolymerizing a mixture of raw crude silicone and fluorinated rubbers. The overall woven fabric contains a substantial proportion, such as at least 10% or more, of the selected elastomer. The selected elastomer is preferably applied as a coating or sheath over a multi-strand core of copper, brass, high-grade alloy steel or stainless steel strands to form the weft threads. The press pad has good elastomeric resilience, excellent temperature resistance for constant duty use above 250° C., and excellent chemical resistance.

    Abstract: A cutting blade is fixed on a shaft that rotates about its shaft center, and that is linearly advanced by an advancing movement. The shaft's center further revolves with a small radius of revolution at a rapid predetermined rate of revolution greater than the rate of advancing movement. Thus the blade is pressed against and cuts a substrate and produces chips, and the blade is intermittently disengaged from the substrate whereby the chips move in the direction in which the blade rotates to be removed from between the cutting edge of the blade and the substrate. This reduces working resistance, enhances working efficiency, and prevents the blade surface from having significant frictional heat. Furthermore, the generated frictional heat can readily dissipate and the blade can thus have a long life.
