  • Patent number: 5283102
Abstract: A wood flooring product for assembly into a wood floor is disclosed. The flooring product includes a top, decorative layer, an intermediate layer bonded to the top layer, and a base layer bonded to the intermediate layer. The top, intermediate and base layers are bonded in registration to define a laminated elongate wood flooring strip. A tongue and a groove are formed on respective side edges of the flooring strip. The tongue and groove extend along the length of the flooring strip, and lock adjacent flooring strips together side-to-side to form an assembled wood floor. The base layer has a multiplicity of closely spaced-apart scores cut transverse to the length of the flooring strip along substantially the entire length of the flooring strip. The scores relieve stress and increase flexibility in the wood strip for more closely adhering to irregularities of a sub-floor.

  • Patent number: 5277866
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a gold club including feeding a predetermined weight of aramid reinforced nylon thermoplastic material from a screw of an injection molding system into a suitably shaped mold. After an initial portion of the thermoplastic has passed into the mold a stream of a predetermined volume of nitrogen under pressure is introduced into the thermoplastic feed to urge the thermoplastic against the inner walls of the mold to form a hollow club. When the feed and stream into the mold have been completed, the mold is maintained under pressure for a period of time to allow the thermoplastic to set before the nitrogen is released.

  • Patent number: 5264185
Abstract: A high temperature, high pressure chemical digestion vessel comprising an inner container which fits within an outer casement. Tapered walls of the inner container define an air gap which insulates against excessive heat transfer between the inner container and the outer casement during high temperature and pressure digestion. The container is provided with a vent. A replaceable, rupturable pressure release disk is provided having a predetermined rupture pressure for being sealingly interposed in covering relation to the vent to seal the container and thereby enclose a substance to be digested in the container. The disk ruptures and releases pressure within the container if pressure within the container reaches the predetermined rupture pressure. The pressure release disk comprises a flat sheet material. A seal cap is provided for holding the pressure release disk in sealing relation to the vent in the container.
