Abstract: A tipping mechanism for buckets carried by a conveyor or elevator. Each bucket 28 is attached to a chain 26 by a swing link 29 and each bucket carries a sector shape cam 30. As the buckets are carried around a sprocket 27 the cam 30 contacts a peg 31, so as to cause the bucket to progressively tip and empty. The movement of the buckets back to their horizontal position is fully controlled and is smooth by virtue of the contact between a French curve on the cam 30 and a cam surface 35 of substantially wedge shape located above or below the conveyor or elevator chain.
Abstract: A fish tape reel which includes first and second hollow annular reel segments mated together to define a fish tape reel having an enclosed annular fish tape compartment for receiving a length of coiled fish tape. The reel defines first and second spaced-apart and opposing side walls and inner and outer spaced-apart and opposing peripheral walls. The inner peripheral wall defines a through void in the reel. A port is provided in the inner peripheral wall of the reel for extending and retracting therethrough a length of fish tape contained in the compartment.
Abstract: A heavy-duty, wear resistent, blow-molded plastic wheel comprising a circular web defining a central axle bore, an integrally-formed radially-extending peripheral side wall, and an integrally-formed, axially-extending tread, the side wall having a width no greater than one-fourth the width of the tread. A roll-out type, plastic waste container having a waste-receiving container body, a handle, a lifting bar and wheel mounts is provided in combination with a heavy-duty, wear resistant, blow-molded plastic wheel as described above mounted on the wheel mounts.
Abstract: A heavy-duty, wear resistent, blow-molded plastic wheel comprising first and second integrally-formed wheel sides defined by alternating axially spaced-apart and joined side segments. A solid center core portion surrounds a central axle bore. The wheel also includes an integrally-formed, axially-extending tread, and molded, integrally-formed axle bore support means in the first and second wheel sides radially-outwardly adjacent of the axle bore and diagonally extending between the first and the second wheel sides to provide enhanced support to the axle bore.
Abstract: A set of components for use in constructing a sliding sash window comprises an outer frame member having parallel longitudinally extending channels or recesses therein adapted to accommodate balance spring mechanisms, cover members engageable with the outer frame in order to enclose or partially enclose the channels or recesses at appropriate regions of the assembled frame and to hide the balance spring mechanisms from view, and glazing members engageable with retaiing means formed on the cover members to enable a portion of the outer frame to be fixed glazed without removing the cover members.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for securing card-clothed tops to the flats of revolving flat-type carding machines is disclosed, which obviates the necessity for specialist machines used for securing clipped tops to the flanges of the flats. A special type of top clip is provided which, besides being preformed to engage with the bottom side of the top as is usual, also has an inward hooked formation along its upper longitudinal edge. In addition, various kinds of tensioning elements are provided, each of which is engagable with the hooked formations on the clips, and is resiliently loaded, so that in the assembled condition, it causes the clips to pull the top tightly into engagement with the flanges of the flat.
Abstract: The folding furniture structure, which is capable of having a folded configuration and an unfolded configuration, comprises a tray (2, 3) supported by a pair of opposite underframes (14) each having an upper end and a lower end, the tray being divided into two parts (2, 3) along a first hinge line (Z, Z').Each of the underframes is hinged:at its upper end, along a second hinge line (Y, Y'), with respect to the edge of the tray portion (2, 3) which it supports, opposite the first hinge line (Z, Z'), andat its lower end, along a third hinge line (X, X'), with respect to an end of a generally flat frame (15),so that in the folded configuration of the structure, each of the underframes (14) rests on a part of the frame (15), defining a flat support on each side of the tray portions (2, 3) which are applied against each other and project upwards with respect to the frame.
Abstract: A seating cluster for airport and similar seating areas, comprising a table positioned on a supporting surface, with six seats attached to and supported by the table adjacent each other in spaced-apart relation above the supporting surface. Each of the seats have a seat bottom having a front edge, opposed sides and a seat back. Each of the six seats are attached to the table with the front of its seat bottom positioned at an oblique angle to the front of a seat bottom of a first adjacent seat whereby each seat and its respective first adjacent seat are angled slightly to each other to facilitate conversation by occupants. Each of the six seats are positioned seat back-to-seat back with a second adjacent seat whereby occupants of each seat and the second adjacent seat are seated substantially back-to-back.
Abstract: A method of producing a shaped fibrous fabric structure is similar to that described in the parent application, in that a continuous filament sheet is subjected to a needle punching action, segments are cut from the sheet and these segments are assembled to form an annulus, and then subjected to rotary motion under a reciprocating needling head and continuing to add segments to build up a stack of layers while at the same time continuing the needling action, and lowering the base of the stack relatively to the needling head. However, in a final step, one or more layers of segments are added to the top of the stack, and these are needled into the stack without lowering the stack. Furthermore, these additional layers are preferably made entirely of stapled fibers.
