  • Patent number: 8119896
Abstract: A method is provided for progressive musical instruction using a media system with processor-executable software modules storing musical performances each having a plurality of segments. A first set of audiovisual signals is generated to simulate a predetermined musical instrument from a selected performance during host segments. The audiovisual signals are adjusted to mute the predetermined instrument during user segments (non-host segments) of the performance. During the host segments a second set of audiovisual signals is generated for demonstration of a preferred user operation of the instrument. The number of user segments may be maintained or increased for successive iterations of the performance, as the user becomes more proficient. The determination to maintain or increase user segments, and which segments are added to the user segments, may be user selectable or programmable by the system based on various criteria.

  • Patent number: 8100481
Abstract: The invention relates to a self-propelled machine for cutting or milling, which has a chassis (1), which is carried by track-laying units or wheels and which has a cutting or milling arrangement (2) and an arrangement (8) for adjusting the height of the chassis to set the depth of cutting or milling. The driver's station is decoupled from the shaking movements or vibrations from the arrangement (2) for cutting or milling which are transmitted to the chassis, and from the vibrations from the internal combustion engine for driving the machine. This decoupling is accomplished by having the height-adjusting arrangement (8) form a system which connects the track-laying units or wheels to the chassis not rigidly but in such a way that they are able to move.

  • Patent number: 8099847
Abstract: A tool for mounting a chisel on a chisel holder, having an actuating member, which has a push-off section, wherein the actuating member can be displaced along a displacement direction. It is possible to simplify changing the chisel if the actuating member can be shifted by an actuating unit. The actuating unit has a draw-in section, which is spaced apart from the push-off section and is arranged transversely with respect to the displacement direction of the actuating member. The actuating member can be power-operated bidirectionally in the displacement direction by the actuating unit.

  • Patent number: 8100480
Abstract: A scraper device for a milling drum mounted in a construction machine at a machine frame between lateral walls with a milling drum axis, with a two-part scraper blade arranged in a height-adjustable fashion behind the milling drum when seen in the direction of travel, the lower part of which can glide over the ground surface milled off by the milling drum, where the lower part of the scraper blade is adjustable in height when in operating position, it is provided that the upper part of the scraper blade is attached, at the upper end, to swivel about a swivelling axis parallel to the axis of the milling drum, that the scraper blade, when in operating position, is engaged with lateral retaining devices at the lateral walls, which retain the scraper blade in a position running essentially orthogonally to the ground surface, that a swivelling device is capable of swivelling the scraper blade about the swivelling axis when the scraper blade is disengaged from the lateral retaining devices, and that the swivelling

  • Patent number: 8096609
Abstract: The construction machine according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that an air-processing apparatus (28) is arranged outside the cab (9) on the machine frame (2), wherein a device (13, 22) for feeding processed and/or fresh air into the cab and used air from the cab is provided, said device having a feed air duct for processed air for the cab and a discharge air duct for used air from the cab. The feed air duct of the air-processing apparatus (13, 22) is connected to the outlet (28C) of the air-processing apparatus (28) and the discharge air duct is connected to the inlet (28B) of the air-processing apparatus. In a construction machine whose control station is rotatably arranged on the machine frame, the arrangement with the air-processing apparatus outside the cab has the decisive advantage that it is not necessary to run hoses and/or lines between the rotatable cab and the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 8091481
Abstract: A staged rocket apparatus includes first and second stages connected by a releasable connector. A plurality of pressurized gas struts are connected between the first and second stages and provide a separating force urging the first and second stages apart. The gas struts are held in a telescopingly collapsed first position by the releasable connector. The separating force is maintained at a minimum value so long as the releasable connector holds the struts in their first position. When the releasable connector is disconnected the separating force increases due to gas flow through a metering passage having a progressively increasing flow area from a high pressure chamber to a low pressure chamber.
