  • Patent number: 8220785
Abstract: A flexible member air spring has an end section of the flexible member attached to a connecting part by a clamp ring. The connecting part has a slot having a truncated cone-shaped cross section. The base of the slot is cylindrical and a flank of the slot has a linear conical form. The inner surface of the clamp ring extends parallel to the base surface. In the clamped state, the inner radius of the clamp ring is less than or equal to at least one of the radii of the slot upper edges. The flexible member is not compressed between the base surface of the slot and the inner side of the clamp ring. The clamp ring, with at least one slot flank, forms a constriction clamping the flexible member wall of the end section.

  • Patent number: 8209957
Abstract: A heatable hose conduit system is provided for an arrangement for the aftertreatment of exhaust gas in an internal combustion engine. The arrangement introduces a liquid reduction agent into the exhaust gas of the engine. The heatable hose conduit system has hose conduits that conduct the liquid reduction agent and are arranged in pairs in close proximity to hose conduits that conduct heating water. At least one end of at least one pair of hose conduits (6, 7 or 8, 9) terminates at a common connecting block that has a plug member of a plug-and-socket connector. The liquid reduction agent is conducted via the connecting block into the interior of the unit (11) to be connected and the heating water is conducted through a throughflow channel (20) which has an outlet outside the unit (11).

  • Patent number: 8189915
Abstract: A segmentation method includes several steps wherein a single data space is selected by the user in an n-dimensional feature space in a first step. This selected data space is basically interpreted by the system as containing at least two classes of objects to be segmented. In the following steps, the system first determines a separation function in the n-dimensional feature space for differentiating the at least two classes and then applies this separation function to the entire data space or a large part of the data space. The segmentation result is then visually presented to the user in real time. The invention also relates to a method for classifying objects on the basis of geometric characteristics of objects previously segmented according to any method in an n-dimensional data space. In a first step, at least two objects are selected as representatives of two different categories, then a number (m) of geometric characteristics per object is determined by calculating various whole-number wave functions.

  • Patent number: 8177181
Abstract: A carrying arrangement having a carrier arm adjustable in elevation is improved so that a load carried thereby can be easily exchanged. A gas-pressure spring (6) incorporates a latching device in such a manner that the gas-pressure spring self latches when a predetermined blocking position (P2) is reached and the self-latching device is disabled in response to an application of pressure to the carrier arm so as to move the carrier arm beyond the blocking position (P2).

Abstract: A fabric belt unit for manufacturing corrugated board in a corrugator machine includes a belt (1) joined together at its two ends (2, 3) to form a continuous belt. The fabric belt has an outer paper side (6) as well as an inner driven side (8). The belt ends (2, 3) are reduced thermally in thickness and have a plurality of approximately U-shaped clamps (7) which are connected to each other to form a joint. The U-shaped clamps (7) lie at a distance (a) one next to the other. The distance (u) of the driven side (8) of the belt to the plane (36) of the thickness-reduced belt ends (2, 3) is greater than the distance (v) between the paper side (6) and the plane (46) of the thickness-reduced belt ends (2, 3) in order to obtain a longer service life of the belt.

  • Patent number: 8159743
Abstract: The invention relates to a surgical microscope having a microscope main objective for the visualization of an object plane in an object region. The objective is passed through by a first stereoscopic component beam path and by a second stereoscopic component beam path. The ophthalmologic surgical microscope includes an adjustable illuminating arrangement which makes illuminating light available. The illuminating arrangement has an illuminating optic having a beam deflecting unit which is mounted on the side of the objective facing away from the object region in order to direct the illuminating light through the objective to the object region. In a first position of the illuminating arrangement, the illuminating light passes through the cross sectional area of the objective in an area section, which at least partially surrounds the optical axis of the first stereoscopic component beam path and/or the optical axis of the second stereoscopic component beam path.

  • Patent number: 8154797
Abstract: A surgical microscope has an illuminating arrangement for illuminating light in an operating region to be examined with the surgical microscope. The arrangement contains a high-power light source which includes an intensity adjusting device. The device makes possible an adjustment of the intensity of the illuminating light, which is guided to the object region, between a maximum value and a minimum value. The microscope has a control unit for the illuminating arrangement which includes an operator-controlled module via which the illuminating arrangement can be activated and controlled. For adjusting the intensity of the illuminating light guided to the operating region, the control unit coacts with the adjustable filter unit. A signal generator outputs a warning signal when an intensity of the illuminating light is adjusted via the operator-controlled module which exceeds the safety limit value stored in a memory.

  • Patent number: 8134093
Abstract: A switch arrangement includes a switch component (20) and a bearing component (21). The switch component (20) is pivotally journalled with a pivot bearing (36) on the bearing component (21). The switch arrangement includes a switch (14) which has a contact spring (19). In an unactuated, closed position (47), the contact spring (19) lies against a contact (18) of the switch (14). A simple configuration of the switch arrangement and a self cleaning effect can be achieved when the pivot bearing (36) has a torsion section (35) which permits an overpushing of the switch (14) beyond the unactuated, closed position (47) into an actuated, closed position (37). The contact spring (19) then slides on the contact (18) between the unactuated closed position (47) and the actuated closed position (37) and cleans the contact thereby.
