  • Patent number: 7787118
Abstract: A method of obtaining spectral information comprises initiating at least a first excitation at a first excitation frequency and a second excitation at a second frequency in a surface enhanced sample. The method further comprises varying one of said first and second excitation frequencies, detecting an output signal having an output signal strength and identifying an output signal peak. In addition the method includes correlating the identified output signal with the first and second excitation frequencies to obtain spectral information, in which the surface enhanced sample substrate is configured to enhance the field corresponding to at least one of the first and second excitation, or output fields initiated in this sample.

  • Patent number: 7753290
Abstract: A portable, self-contained powered sprayer to produce a foam effluent spray from a liquid. The sprayer includes segregated air and liquid delivery systems that separately supply air and liquid to a mixing chamber. The liquid delivery system may include a pump for pumping liquid from a tank to the mixing chamber via a liquid supply line. The air delivery system may include a compressor for supplying pressurized air to the mixing chamber via an air supply line. The mixing chamber may be defined within a flow controller. In one embodiment, the sprayer includes control circuit for engaging and disengaging the pump and the compressor in response to operation of the flow controller. The control circuit may include a pressure switch operatively connected to the liquid supply line to trigger operation of the pump and the compressor in response to pressure within the liquid supply line.

  • Patent number: 7749113
Abstract: A lacrosse head that is constructed of multiple different materials or components having different strength characteristics with the stronger materials or components located in predetermined locations to provide increased resistance to flex and/or breakage in those areas while allowing desired flex in some areas. The lacrosse head is co-formed of the multiple different materials by such processes as injection molding, gas assist injection molding, compression molding, thermal forming and extrusion such that the multiple different materials are coupled to form a single integrated structure.

  • Patent number: 7735881
Abstract: A cargo bay cover for a pickup truck includes at least first and second panels hingedly connected to each other. The first panel includes a release mechanism including a lever arm that is movable between a released position and an unreleased position, and a lock that is movable to a locked position preventing movement of the lever arm. The cover includes a resiliently deformable panel latch that is released when the first panel is opened and that is capable of flexing around a keeper if the cover is opened incorrectly. The cover includes a unique mounting clamp for attachment to the pickup truck. A second half of the mounting clamp rides up a shoulder on a first half of the mounting clamp as the halves are drawn together, enabling the to pinch in two directions—one parallel to the drawing force and another perpendicular to the drawing force.

  • Patent number: 7726903
Abstract: A manhole system that includes a manhole cover and a frame with at least one locking device for maintaining the manhole cover in place on the frame. The locking device is selectively movable between locked and unlocked positions to selectively engage the cover to hold the cover in place on the frame. The locking device may be rotatable between “locked” and “unlocked” positions about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the cover. The locking device may includes a plurality of cam locks that engage the outer circumferential edge of the cover and are configured to increasingly clamp down the cover against the frame with increasing rotation from “unlocked” position to “locked” position. A plurality of locks can be arranged around frame to engage the cover at different locations.
