  • Patent number: 6848239
Abstract: A band refeeding method in a banding packing machine is disclosed which can prevent the tip portion of a band from being excessively pulled back even if the band is not supplied correctly but is automatically pulled back, and can stay the band in a predetermined position and can successively supply the band to the band guide arch side. A length of a band to be pulled back to an original position by band pull back means is previously detected based on the number of rotations of a touch roller constituting band supply means. In addition, the number of rotations of the touch roller before reaching a predetected set value is detected when the tip portion of the band is pulled back. Then, a rotating speed of a roller of the band pull back means is reduced when the number of rotations is detected. Therefore, the roller of the band pull back means is subsequently rotated at the low speed, thereby pulling back the tip of the band to a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 6847869
Abstract: By calculating energy used by friction brake equipment, the amount of friction brake shoe/pad wear is monitored. As amount of energy supplied reaches a percentage of the friction brake shoe/pad energy design limit, and indication for inspection is provided. If the supplied friction energy continues to increase the brake material must be replaced. The software logic limits are tunable for custom configuration by maintainace personnel. This invention measures amount of friction effort supplied with respect to time and distance in a software controller brake system and allows the software to determine when the friction brake material must be replaced on actual data and avoids costly damage from braking with worn out shoes/pads. This invention annunciates through the software when the friction material requires inspection and replacement and provides software logic to indicate remaining material thickness.

  • Patent number: 6840599
Abstract: A method for processing an image in a printer, which can effectively carry out a conversion operation by comparing quantities of light components for R (Red), G (Green) and B (Blue) associated with each pixel to be converted when a two or more-color image is converted into a two-color image, and can decide conversion colors by applying a regular rule to all possible cases when the conversion colors are decided, such that an excellent conversion result can be achieved. In the method, a primary color and a secondary color are set as printable colors in the printer and an original image is inputted. Color difference values associated with the primary color, the secondary color and a white color are produced on an original image pixel-by-pixel basis, and a corresponding pixel color of the original image is converted into the primary, secondary or white color associated with a smallest color difference value.
