Abstract: A material containing submicron sized particles of graphite in a liquid carrier that contains a water soluable resin is described that forms a penetrating lubricating adhesive coating on the coke oven doors and jambs which acts to prevent leakage of tar and other coke by-products and the resultant build up as heretofore common in the art and the inability of maintaining a sealing relation between the doors and jambs.
Abstract: An extension boom for use with a tractor mounted back hoe assembly comprises a main body section pivotally connected at one end to said back hoe assembly in place of the usual back hoe bucket. The main body section is formed of a pair of spaced elongated channel members with a fixed outwardly extending tubular member therebetween. A secondary tubular member is positioned partially within said tubular member and is telescopically extensible therefrom. The extension is adapted to support an aerial platform for a workman.
Abstract: A flanged fitting comprises a flanged tubular member for positioning in an opening in a floor or roof to form a tubular conduit therethrough. The flange on the fitting may comprise a closet flange, a floor drain flange, or a flat roof flange. Additionally, the flange may be provided with an upstanding tubular member to which a secondary tubular conductor may be attached in the nature of a vent. A sleeve is engaged about the tubular member such as by a clamping member thereon with the upper portion of the sleeve being of a considerably larger diameter and provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced finger-like sections which are frangible. The flanged fitting may thus be clampingly secured in an opening in a floor or a roof in a desirable location in an opening therein to serve an intended purpose.
Abstract: An insulation material comprised of multiple layers of treated newspaper in a compartmentalized air impervious resin container or use as side wall or ceiling insulation bats in homes or like structures.
Abstract: A runner for hot metal as from a blast furnace is formed of a series of interconnected modular units which are prefabricated, preferably from consumable, combustible and/or disintegratable materials of desired densities. A plurality of tunnel-like refractory lined covers are positioned continuously of the runner formed of the interconnected modular units so as to confine fumes, gas, smoke and other air pollutants. Vacuum devices are in communication with the covers so as to remove the air pollutants from the same and direct them through scrubbers and/or precipitron equipment to remove the air pollutants before the air entrained in the system is released to atmosphere.
Abstract: A process and material for treating metal handling and shaping devies with a material containing sub micron sized particles of graphite in a liquid carrier is described that forms a penetraring and lubricating coating on the metal handling and shaping devices so as to maintain a smooth surface condition capable of resisting adhesion of contaminates thereto and the build up of foreign materials thereon.
Abstract: A table clamp for removably attaching a table or the like to a wheel chair has vertically positioned hollow body members that engage legs on the table, movable inverted L-shaped members having opposed tabs for engagement against the chair frame are pivoted to the hollow body members.
Abstract: In an audio visual alarm device that can be mounted on a wall or a post an enclosure with an automatic dusk to dawn security light, a selectively energizable rotating signal light and an audible electrically actuated siren. A remotely controlled relay energizes the alarm and a circuit arranged to extinguish the security light upon actuation of the alarm.
Abstract: A cutting tool which may be pulled through sheet material to be cut has a pair of spaced circular cutting blades on a first shaft and a single circular cutting blade on a second shaft spaced vertically with respect to the first shaft and wherein both shafts are secured to a vertically standing flat body member in which a cutaway portion including a beveled surface defines paths for the work piece and a narrow section of material cut therefrom by the cutting tool.
Abstract: A quick opening window positions a glazed sash in a window opening in weather sealing relation and supports said glazed sash in closed relation to the opening on a sidewardly slidable support which is moved from its normal position beneath the glazed sash to permit the sash to drop into a hollow cavity beneath the window opening. A tension latch arrangement is provided which must be overcome in moving the glazed sash support from its normal position to prevent the accidental opening of the window.
Abstract: A cantilevered cross truss construction provides a load supporting structure through the interlocking of the trusses, said trusses having continuous top and bottom chord members, the bottom chord of one of which is adapted to be cut in the field, said cut truss can be positioned over the other truss forming a superior load supporting truss construction.
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for drying a natural gas stream such as water containing natural gas introduces triethylene glycol into a high speed gas stream at a pressure in excess of that of the gas stream to achieve a drying effect by impaction and rapid expansion and turbulence in a mixing zone. The triethylene glycol and water are removed by a centrifugal separator.
Abstract: A game target provides an elevated surface with a target cup located centrally therein. A retaining wall is formed around three sides of the elevated surface with an approach ramp on the fourth side. The ramp and the elevated surface are separate abutting portions made of soft flexible foam. A soft carpet-like covering material is secured to both portions resulting in a motion absorbing non-rebounding target area, and the ramp being hinged to the elevated surface.
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for positioning a drag racing vehicle is provided for the purpose of enabling the driver to position the drag racing vehicle to a preferred and predetermined starting-line position.
Abstract: A fluid control valve has a cylindrical body member with inlet and outlet passages in spaced relation to one another. A control stem is movably positioned in a control chamber formed by the body member. A split expandable sleeve in the control chamber is movable by the control stem to provide overall volume control.
