    Abstract: A tendon installation for anchoring a semisubmersible platform to a sea bed foundation, wherein said tendons are tensioned by the updrift of the platform. The tendons are prefabricated in dimensions adapted to the depth of the sea bed foundation, expected tension load and in order to be substantially weightless in water. The tendons are connected in groups at each of their ends at a distance corresponding to the distance between anchoring points in the foundation and the platform respectively. The groups of tendons are towed out to the anchoring site and they are positioned vertically above the foundation. The tendons are fastened to the anchoring points in the foundation. The platform is positioned above the groups of tendons and connected to these via wire ropes. The platform is ballasted down onto the tendons under guidance by said wire ropes. The upper ends of the tendons are mounted internally in the legs of the platform.

    Abstract: A process for producing a PTC device comprising the steps of forming a laminate comprising a PTC composition and at least two electrode plates having the PTC composition sandwiched therebetween, opposing the surface of a lead plate to be electrically connected to each of the electrodes, to the surface of each of the electrode plates of the laminate while contacting at a narrow area, and then passing a current between the electrode and the lead via the narrow contact surface to weld them. By this process, there is obtained a PTC device having, at a portion of the joining interface between each electrode plate and each lead plate, a nugget formed by melting both the plates. This PTC device has a low contact resistance between the PTC composition and the electrode plates.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a low-frequency electromagnetic induction heater which comprises at least six induction coils each having a circular configuration and positioned in a circular and symmetrical configuration. The coils form three sets of coils such that each set of coils receives electrical power in a different phase from a three- phase electrical power source, such as a three-phase alternating current power source. The coils are interconnected such that the current flows from a first coil to a second other coil substantially opposed to the first coil. In a preferred embodiment, the heater consists of six coils connected in a three-phase double delta connection. This invention provides for heating of the heating element with continuous attraction to the induction coils, a substantial increase of electromagnetic flux density, prevention of noise due to electromagnetic vibration of the heating element, and high thermal efficiency.

    Abstract: A bobbin case for use in a transformer of the double-insulated type comprises an insulating member of tube-like shape, a partition wall disposed substantially normal to the axis of the insulating member so that the inner space of said insulating member is divided into two recesses for receiving primary and secondary winding assemblies, respectively, from the opposite directions along the axis of said insulating member, and a pair of insulating rims which extend from the outer end surfaces of the insulating member at the side of the recess for receiving the primary winding assembly. The pair of insulating rims are formed such that they are capable of being bent inwardly along the outer end surfaces so as to obtain a creeping distance between said primary winding and a core inserted into center holes in said winding assemblies. By using the bobbin case, the insertion of the primary and secondary winding assemblies can easily and efficiently be carried out.
