Abstract: A tendon installation for anchoring a semisubmersible platform to a sea bed foundation, wherein said tendons are tensioned by the updrift of the platform. The tendons are prefabricated in dimensions adapted to the depth of the sea bed foundation, expected tension load and in order to be substantially weightless in water. The tendons are connected in groups at each of their ends at a distance corresponding to the distance between anchoring points in the foundation and the platform respectively. The groups of tendons are towed out to the anchoring site and they are positioned vertically above the foundation. The tendons are fastened to the anchoring points in the foundation. The platform is positioned above the groups of tendons and connected to these via wire ropes. The platform is ballasted down onto the tendons under guidance by said wire ropes. The upper ends of the tendons are mounted internally in the legs of the platform.
Abstract: A process for producing a PTC device comprising the steps of forming a laminate comprising a PTC composition and at least two electrode plates having the PTC composition sandwiched therebetween, opposing the surface of a lead plate to be electrically connected to each of the electrodes, to the surface of each of the electrode plates of the laminate while contacting at a narrow area, and then passing a current between the electrode and the lead via the narrow contact surface to weld them. By this process, there is obtained a PTC device having, at a portion of the joining interface between each electrode plate and each lead plate, a nugget formed by melting both the plates. This PTC device has a low contact resistance between the PTC composition and the electrode plates.
Abstract: A bubbler device is disclosed, which comprises of a suitable number of bubbling portions and is located on the bottom in a rinse vessel for washing semiconductor materials set in a carrier. The respective bubbling portions have a filter consisted of a fine mesh which enables passage of gas but hinders penetration of liquid, to thereby generate bubbles through the filter so as to promote the washing of semiconductor materials without penetration of the liquid. The filter is releasably mounted on the upper side of the bubbling portion.
Abstract: A biologically persistent, water-soluble, substantially non-immunogenic, substantially non-antigenic conjugate of superoxide dismutase is prepared by coupling one to five strands of a polyalkylene glycol which is polyethylene glycol or polyethylene-polypropylene glycol copolymer, wherein said polyalkylene glycol has an average molecular weight of about 35,000-1,000,000.

Abstract: Disclosed is a low-frequency electromagnetic induction heater which comprises at least six induction coils each having a circular configuration and positioned in a circular and symmetrical configuration. The coils form three sets of coils such that each set of coils receives electrical power in a different phase from a three- phase electrical power source, such as a three-phase alternating current power source. The coils are interconnected such that the current flows from a first coil to a second other coil substantially opposed to the first coil. In a preferred embodiment, the heater consists of six coils connected in a three-phase double delta connection. This invention provides for heating of the heating element with continuous attraction to the induction coils, a substantial increase of electromagnetic flux density, prevention of noise due to electromagnetic vibration of the heating element, and high thermal efficiency.
Abstract: A bobbin case for use in a transformer of the double-insulated type comprises an insulating member of tube-like shape, a partition wall disposed substantially normal to the axis of the insulating member so that the inner space of said insulating member is divided into two recesses for receiving primary and secondary winding assemblies, respectively, from the opposite directions along the axis of said insulating member, and a pair of insulating rims which extend from the outer end surfaces of the insulating member at the side of the recess for receiving the primary winding assembly. The pair of insulating rims are formed such that they are capable of being bent inwardly along the outer end surfaces so as to obtain a creeping distance between said primary winding and a core inserted into center holes in said winding assemblies. By using the bobbin case, the insertion of the primary and secondary winding assemblies can easily and efficiently be carried out.
Abstract: Crystals of 7.beta.-[(Z)-2-(5-amino-1,2,4-thiadiazol-3-yl)-2-methoxyiminoacetamido]-3- (1-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazinium)methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate hydrochloride or a solvate thereof, which are stable and improved in solubility in water, are useable for an excellent antibacterial agent.
Abstract: In a block inlaying puzzle, each of a plurality of blocks in a set has a plan configuration consisting of at least one basic shape. A puzzle board is provided with a block inlaying recess in which the set of blocks is inlaid. The block inlaying recess has a bottom surface and a peripheral wall surface surrounding a periphery of the bottom surface. The bottom surface has a configuration in which a plurality of the basic shapes are assembled together. A plurality of block guides arranged on the bottom surface of the block inlaying recess and/or marks applied to selected ones of the blocks impose as restrictions on inlaying of the set of blocks in the block inlaying recess.

Abstract: A sheath for the disposal of medical needles, the sheath having a tubular portion which is closed at one end. The other end is open and has gripping means to grip the boss portion of the needle. Abstract: A method of aiming adjustment for headlight of automotive vehicles, which is joined with a turning test of wheels for obtaining relationship between steering wheel angles and wheel turning angles, includes steps of: detecting step for detecting side edge of a headlight or a front combination lamp while a tested vehicle is placed on a turning test station, calculating step for calculating an aberration or inclination of a tested vehicle with respect to a headlight aiming testing line in a horizontal plane, and correcting step for correcting coordinates of the aiming test according to said aberration or inclination.

The compounds have excellent antibacterial activities and are useful as an antibacterial agent.
Abstract: A polling system for use in an audio system in which a plurality of controllers for controlling a plurality of input/output devices of the audio system and a system controller for controlling the status of the plurality of controllers are connected via a bus line. In an initial polling operation upon power-up of the system, the system controller in order confirms the connection of the plurality of controllers to the system and stores the results of confirmation. When the absence of connection of the controllers is confirmed in the initial polling operation, the system controller further monitors the level on a transmission line provided in the bus line for transmitting a requesting signal from the plurality of controllers to the system controller, and performs the polling operation once more if the presence of the requesting signal is confirmed.

Abstract: A strategy game device having a support base with a top surface and at least three peg receptacles, each rotatably connected to the base at the center of the receptacle. Each receptacle has at least three peg-receiving holes equally spaced about the periphery of the receptacle. The number of holes in each receptacle is the same. There are at least two sets of pegs and each set comprises a number of pegs which can be inserted in the aforementioned holes. Each set has a color different than the color of the other sets. In one version the centers of the peg receptacles are spaced apart along a straight line extending parallel to the top surface of the base. In another version the peg receptacles are circular and are rotatable about a common center axis. In the preferred version of this embodiment, each receptacle has eight peg-receiving holes equally spaced from one another about the periphery.

Abstract: The coating method includes the intercoating step for spraying the intercoating paint over a substrate after undercoating, the intercoat drying step for drying the intercoat on the substrate, the overcoating step for spraying the overcoating paint over the dried intercoat on the substrate, and the overcoat drying step for drying the overcoat. In the intercoating step, the intercoating paint is sprayed in such an amount as causing sag, that is, in an amount beyond its sagging threshold value. In the intercoat drying step, the substrate is rotated about its horizontal and longitudinal axis to dry the intercoat.
